  • 소형제트엔진은 주로 연구, 실험, 교육 등의 목적으로 사용되고 있다. 이러한 소형제트엔진은 고도가 높고 고속으로 비행하는 드론에 추력 발생 장치로서의 중요한 역할을 수행할 수 있다. 그러나 엔진의 실질적인 활용을 위해서는 기존의 유선으로 구성된 컨트롤러를 무선으로 제어할 수 있는 방식으로 재구성하는 것이 필요하다. 이 중에서도 연료펌프의 무선제어시스템이 우선적으로 개발되어야만 다른 부분에 대한 무선제어개발이 가능해질 것이다. 본 논문에서는 소형 제트 엔진의 연료 펌프를 무선으로 제어할 수 있는 방식을 적용한 임베디드 시스템의 구성과 방식에 대해 제안하고 있다.

An Approach to Maintenance Cost Estimation for Aircraft Turbofan Engines (항공기용 터보팬 엔진의 성능변수를 이용한 정비 주기 및 비용 예측에 관한 연구)

  • This study presents a detailed analysis of aircraft engine maintenance cost based on the relationships between engine performance and geometric parameters. Some trend equations based on the engine performance and maintenance database were developed for the estimation of shop-visit interval, work-scope, man-hours, material cost and Life Limited Part cost. The results show that this approach can give a more reasonable and detailed estimation of engine maintenance cost than older empirical methods.

  • USA and Europe are leading a transport airplane industry. In Asia-Pacific region, air transportation and MRO industries are forecasted to be grown up rapidly. Furthermore, Japan and China entered into design and manufacture state of regional airplane, and developing countries entered into severe struggle competition for MRO industry. Global aircraft MRO and engine MRO industries are forecasted 3.4% and 7% growth respectively in next decade. In this paper, authors propose promotion strategy for technology intensive MRO of aircraft engine to create a higher value-added business.

  • 원자력발전소에서 비상디젤발전기는 노심의 안전성을 지키는 매우 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있다. 이를 위해 디젤발전기는 신뢰성능 높게 유지하도록 규제요건이 마련되어 있다. 디젤발전기의 엔진 상태를 주기적으로 감시하고 평가하기 위해서는 엔진 상태 신호 분석 기술이 필요하다. 엔진 상태 신호 분석에는 연소분석과 진동 및 초음파 측정 및 분석기술이 중요한 비중을 차지한다. 연소 분석은 디젤 엔진의 개별 실린더에 대한 연소 성능에 대한 정보를 제공한다. 진동 및 초음파 분석은 이벤트 타이밍과 기계적 상태에 대한 정보를 알려준다. 이들 신호는 정상적인 부하로 운전하는 디젤엔진의 가동에 영향을 미치지 않고 수집할 수 있다. 엔진 상태 신호 분석을 이용하는 주요 동기는 전통적으로 장비 제작자의 권고에 따라 수행되는 분해-검사 유지 보수 프로그램을 일부 대체하고 예측정비를 통해 신뢰도를 유지하기 위함이다. 상태 진단정비는 엔진 상태 신호분석을 주로 이용하여 엔진의 신뢰도와 이용률을 증가시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 국내외서 경험한 엔진상태신호 측정 및 분석 사례를 기술하였다.

  • The solution of maintenance decision support system for the gas turbine engine, which is currently operating in GUNSAN combined cycle power plant, was developed and is consist of online monitoring module, periodic performance trending module, optimal compressor washing interval analysis module and hot component management module. Also, GUI platform was applied to this solution for the user to monitoring the analyzed result of engine performance condition and then to make a decision of the consequent maintenance action. In online condition monitoring module, the performance degradation of engine is provided by the analysis of difference between the real time measurement data compared to exist engine performance. The optimal compressor washing interval module produced the washing interval of maximum net profit value by researching the maintenance expense and the loss profit value corresponds to the performance degradation with economic assessment algorithm. Thus, this solution support the user to enable the optimal maintenance and operation of gas turbine engine with overall analysis of engine condition and main information.

  • Aircraft engine parts repair is a field belonging to the lowest level in the hierarchy of the aircraft industry, and it is marginalized in terms of research, compared to aircraft manufacturing or maintenance that belong to the upper level. On the other hand, in 2019, Korean Air's Powerplant Maintenance Center paid USD $130 million to foreign countries for engine parts repair, making it an industry with great need for localization. To achieve the goal of localizing engine parts repair, a certification system is needed that can perform independent repairs based on the development of repair technology, aligning contractual relationships with engine manufacturers, and free from dependence on engine manufacturers or foreign repair companies. The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for subsequent research to secure an actual certification system by suggesting the need for securing such a certification system.

  • Spare engine plays an important role for securing readiness of military strength during unexpected fault occurrences and field/depot planned maintenances. The purpose of this research is to present an approach towards the optimal number of spare engines/modules for diversity of aircraft types. We first reviewed two representative approaches, METRIC and meta model. We then investigated military aircrafts and categorized them into 5 types with regard to the engine type and number of engines/modules per aircraft. Through rigorous investigation of planned/non-planned maintenance of each type, we drew parameters and variables involved. As known, due to the complexity of the problem, it is impossible to develop a simple mathematical model with a closed form solution. Based on the airbase operation and maintenance logic with parameters/variable drawn, we developed a simulation model using ARENA well representing real field exercises. For the optimal solution, we applied OptQuest. It has shown that the program developed generates reliable results through a set of case examples.

  • 해군은 계획된 함정 수리기간을 통해 성능 유지를 위한 장비 정비를 수행한다. 함정의 수리기간이 한정되어있고, 장비는 많은 정비 대상 구성품으로 이루어져 통상의 경우 성능이 저하된 구성품을 미리 선정하여 일부분에 대해서만 정비가 수행된다. 본 연구에서는 SNA 분석을 통해 함정 수리 시 정비 대상 구성품을 더욱 효과적으로 선정할 수 있도록, 집중적으로 정비가 수행된 개체를 확인하고 이를 예방정비를 위한 정비요소로 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 특정 모델을 샘플로, 도입시부터 ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$년까지의 정비데이터를 수집하여 분석을 진행하였다.

  • Engine control/performance model for helicopter simulator is one of the most important models which affect flight performance and handling quality. It is typical to develop the model based on the raw data and models from the engine designers/manufacturers. The approaches in this study were to develop the basic model based on the available resources and to tune and verify it based on the ground/flight test results. The maintenance manuals of TB3-117 which is installed in KA-32T were reviewed and the components to be simulated for the engine control model were categorized and modeled. Piece-wise linear modeling method was used for the engine performance model. The engine performance data in the engine maintenance manuals were incorporated into the engine steady state performance tables, which were incorporated with the transfer functions for the dynamic performance. Engine control/performance model was compared and tuned with the ground/flight test results. It was verified that the fidelity of the model was within the tolerances in FAA AC120-63.
