Experimental Investigation on Vibration Control Performances of the Piezoelectric Hybrid Mount (압전 하이브리드 마운트의 진동제어 성능에 대한 실험적 고찰)

  • A hybrid mount featuring rubber element and piezoelectric actuator is devised to reduce vibration when starting a vehicle engine. As a first step, a passive mount adopting rubber element is manufactured and its dynamic characteristics are experimentally evaluated. After evaluating dynamic characteristics of the manufactured inertial piezoelectric actuator, the proposed hybrid mount is then established by integrating the piezoelectric actuator with the rubber element for performance improvement at non-resonant high frequencies. A mathematical model of the established active vibration control system is formulated and expressed in the state space form. Subsequently, sliding mode controller (SMC) is designed to attenuate the vibration transmitted from the base excitation. Finally, control performances of the proposed hybrid mount are evaluated such as transmissibility in frequency domain and time responses.

  • 로켓의 추진제에는 고체 추진제와 액체 추진제를 사용하는 두 경우로 나눌 수 있는데, 액체 추진제를 사용하는 경우, 액체 연료와 액체 산화제를 다양한 방법으로 연소실내로 분사하게 된다. 이때 사용되는 injector들 중에 impingement type이 있다. 이 type은 injector의 가공이 비교적 용이하고, 혼합성능이 좋기 때문에 LOX/RP-1(Kerosin-based hydrocarbon fuel)을 사용하는 액체 로켓엔진에서 주로 사용되어 왔다. 두 액체 jet의 충돌에 의해 액막이 형성되는데, 이 액막은 가장자리로 갈수록 두께가 얇아지며 액막표면의 파는 충돌점으로부터 멀어질수록 그 진폭의 증가를 이루어 액체의 표면장력과 관성력의 균형을 깨트리며, 이 순간 액막은 rim의 형태로 분열하여 결국에는 액적을 생성하게 된다. 현재까지의 연구내용은 충돌 jet의 형태 laminar jet과 turbulent jet으로 구분된 인젝트에 관해 연구되어왔고, 특히 국내에는 이러한 구분된 충돌 jet의 분열현상에 관한 연구결과가 미흡하다. 동일한 오르피스의 경우에도 laminar jet과 turbulent jet으로 구분되어 지며, 각각의 jet의 형태에 따라 생성되는 액막의 형상 또는 다르게 생성되어 진다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 두 구분된 jet의 경우의 분열현상을 실험적으로 분석하였다.

Experimental Study of Pressure Drop in Compressible Fluid through Porous Media (다공성재를 통과하는 압축성 유체의 압력강하에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study proposes the characteristics of the pressure drop in a compressible fluid through porous media for application to a porous injector in a liquid rocket engine in order to improve the uniformity of the drop size distribution and the mixing performance of shear coaxial injectors. The fluid through the porous media is a Non-Darcy flow that shows a Nonlinear relation between the pressure drop and the velocity at high speed and high mass flow rate. The pressure drop of the Non-Darcy flow can be derived using the Forchheimer equation that includes the losses of viscous and inertia resistance. The permeability and Ergun coefficient represented as a function of the pressure drop and pore size can be applied to the porous injector, where the fluid through the porous media is compressible. A generalized correlation between the pressure drop in relation to the pore size was derived.

Element Design of Balancing Shaft for Reducing the Vibration in Engine Module (엔진진동 저감을 위한 밸런싱샤프트의 요소설계 기법 연구)

  • Vibration in Engine module could be reduced by introducing a balance shaft module which has one or more unbalanced rotors. The unbalanced rotor is unbalanced in one direction that act as a opposite direction of the inertia force or moment triggered by engine component so that the largest order factor in vibration is efficiently decreased The ability of balance shaft to reduce the order element of engine component is investigated by a vehicle testing that is focused on comparing the vibration with balance shaft to that of without balance shaft. One of the commonly adapted balance shaft is tested by modal scheme for indemnifying the dynamic characteristics and an, the modal information is used for a clue to design the balance shaft module. The essential equation deriving the design parameters of unbalanced rotor is also presented for two cases, 3 in-ling and 4 in-ling cylinder model. Finally, the overall design process is explained with flow chart.

The Study of Energy Conversion in a 2 Ton/day Waste-wood Fixed Bed Gasifier (2톤/일 고정층 가스화기를 이용한 폐목재의 에너지 전환 연구)

  • For the conversion of domestic waste-wood into energy, a fixed bed gasifier ($0.9 m{\times}2.4 m$) having the capacity of 2 ton/day was designed and constructed. The dual knife valve was used to feed waste-wood of which size was 3~5 cm and a rotary stoker system was installed in the bottom of gasifier. The pilot gasification system consisted of feeding system, fixed bed gasifier, gravity fine particle collector, heat exchanger for syngas cooling, ID fan, and cooling tower. The operation temperatures of gasifier were $700{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$ and the concentrations of syngas were CO: 25~40 vol%, $H_2$: 7~12 vol%, $CH_4$: 2~4 vol%, $CO_2$: 12~24 vol%. The calorific value of syngas was $1100{\sim}1500kcal/Nm^3$ and was enough to be applied in the industrial combustor. Also the gas engine was operated by using syngas from biomass gasifier and produced 1~4 kW of power.
