Non-Contact Power Supply Using the Series-Parallel Resonant Converter (직ㆍ병렬 공진형 컨버터를 이용한 비접촉전원)

  • In this paper, Non-contact power supply(NCPS) with the long primary cable longer than 20m and the large air-gap between the primary and secondary of Non-Contacting Transformer(NCT) is presented. The NCT has a large leakage inductance bigger than its magnetizing inductance because it has low coupling, and it is not efficient for NCPS to transfer the primary energy to the secondary one. In order to improve this problem, the voltage-gain characteristics of the series resonant converter, the parallel resonant converter, and the series-parallel resonant converter are analyzed respectively. In addition, the experimental results of 10kW prototype the series-parallel resonant converter is presented.

  • 보는 하천을 횡단하는 대표적인 수공구조물로써 수위를 유지하여 각종 용수의 취수 기능 및 주운 기능을 가지고 있다. 그러나 보를 설치할 경우 상류부의 유속이 점차 감소하여 유사 퇴적이 일어나며, 흐름 정체에 따른 수질 저하 및 수위 상승의 원인을 제공한다. 이러한 보의 단점을 개선하기 위해 래버린스 보에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. Hay 등(1970) 연구에 따르면 래버린스 보의 월류능력은 동일 수두 조건에서 선형 보보다 높은 특성을 가진다. 또한 Tsang(2000) 연구에 따르면 큰 유량 및 낮은 월류고 조건에서 폭기 효율이 뛰어난 것으로 나타났다. 박호상(2009) 연구에 따르면 경사형 마루 래버린스 보가 일반형 래버린스 보의 수심유지 범위보다 더 크며, 산소전달효율도 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 기존 보에서 발생되는 유사퇴적 및 흐름정체 등의 문제는 여전히 존재하였다. 이와 관련하여 본 연구에서는 유사의 연속성을 유지하고 흐름의 정체를 해소하는 퇴적방지 구조를 구비한 래버린스 보(현대건설, 2011)를 제안하였다(그림 1, 2 참조). 본 연구에서는 퇴적방지 구조를 구비한 래버린스 보의 홍수안정성 및 유사연속성에 대한 효과를 3차원 수치모형(FLOW-3D)을 통해 분석하였다. 수치모의에 사용된 수로 연장은 9.25 m이고 폭은 0.82 m이며, 상류의 수심변화에 따라 수치모의를 수행하였다. 수치모의 결과 에너지 감세 효과와 상류의 수심을 유지하는 효과가 나타났다. 또한 이격된 벽체로 흐르는 유속에 의해 래버린스 보 내의 마찰속도가 증가하였다. 이러한 결과, 퇴적방지 구조를 구비한 래버린스 보가 홍수 안정성 및 유사배제에 효과가 있는 기술로써 가능성이 있는 것으로 판단된다. 향후, 수리모형실험을 통한 연구가 수행된다면 수리특성에 관한 기초자료를 통해 설계 인자가 도출될 수 있을 것이며 나아가 기술의 상용화에도 크게 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

Cu 함량 변화에 따른 Mo-N-Cu 박막의 특성 및 내마모 특성 평가

  • 동력 전달을 위한 구동 부품에 대한 내마모성 개선을 통한 에너지 효율 및 부품의 수명 향상에 대한 사회적 관심이 급증하고 있다. 특히, 최근에는 자동차용 구동부품에 저마찰 내마모 특성이 우수한 Mo-N-Cu 나노복합체 박막에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Mo-N-Cu 나노복합체 박막을 마그네트론 스퍼터링 증착법을 활용하였고, 이때 Mo 및 Cu 타겟을 적용하여 동시에 증착하였다. 진공 챔버의 진공도는 $5{\times}10^{-6}\;Torr$ 이하의 초기 진공도를 확보한 이후, 알곤 및 질소 가스를 주입하여 공정 압력이 5 mTorr 수준이 되도록 하였다. 이때 N2/(Ar+N2) = 0.5를 유지하였다. Mo-N-Cu 박막내에 Cu 함량 변화를 위해 Mo 캐소드는 D.C. 1 kW로 고정하고 Cu 캐소드에 R.F. 파워를 0, 40, 60, 80 W로 변화하였다. 박막의 두께는 증착시간을 변화하면서 $1\;{\mu}m$ 이상이 되도록 하였다. Cu 캐소드에 인가된 파워의 변화에 따라 Mo-N-Cu 박막내 Cu 함유량은 10 at.%까지 변화되는 것을 EDX 분석을 통해 확인하였다. 또한 증착된 Mo-N-Cu 박막의 표면 및 단면에 대한 FE-SEM 분석을 통하여 전형적인 주상구조를 지닌 MoN 박막에서 Cu 함량이 증가할수록 Mo-N-Cu 박막의 결정성을 방해하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 XRD 분석을 통하여 박막의 결정 구조 분석을 하였고, Nano Indentor를 통하여 30 GPa 수준의 고경도를 지닌 박막이 형성됨을 확인하였다. 박막의 내마모 특성 평가를 위해 ball-on-disk 트라이보미터를 활용하여 마찰계수 평가를 수행하였고, Cu 함유량의 변화에 따라 마찰계수가 MoN 박막의 경우 0.8에서 Cu 함량이 5 at.%에서 0.15로 급격하게 낮아짐을 확인하였다.

  • A consideration on the trubulence models for describing the redeveloping turbulent boundary layer beyond separation-reattachment in the flow over a backward-facing step is given through experimental and numerical studies. By considering the blance among the measured values of respective terms in the transport equations for the turbulent kinetic energy and the turbulent shear stress, the recovering process of the redeveloping boundary layer from non-equilibrium to equilibrium has been investigated, which takes place slowly over a substantial distance in the downstream direction. In the numerical study, the standard K-.epsilon. model and the Reynolds stress model have been applied to two kinds of flow regions, one for the entire downstream region after the backward-facing step and another for the downstream region after reattachment. Then the results are compared to a meaningful extent, with the experimental values of the turbulent kinetic energy k, the turbulent energy production term P, the dissipation term K-.epsilon. model, a necessity for a new modelling has been brought forward, which can be also applied to the case of the nonequlibrium turbulent flow.

  • Progressive collapse is a chain reaction of failures propagating throughout a portion of a structure that is disproportionate to the original local failure. When column members are subjected to unexpected load (compression load), they will buckle if the applied load is greater than the critical load that induces buckling. The post-buckling strength of the columns will decrease rapidly, but if there is enough residual strength, the members will absorb the potential energy generated by the impact load to prevent progressive collapse. Thus, it is necessary to identify the relationship of the load-deformation of a column member in the progressive collapse of a structure up to final collapse. In this study, we carried out nonlinear FEM analysis and based on deflection theory, we investigated the load-deformation relationship of H-section steel columns when both ends were fixed.

  • Methanol fuel cells having advantages of relatively favorable reaction kinetics and higher energy density have attracted increasing interests as best alternative to hydrogen fuel cell because of H2 production, storage and distribution issues. While there have been extensive research works on developing key components such as electrocatalysts as well as their physicochemical properties in practical formic acid fuel cells, there have also been urgent requests for investigating which fuel sources will be more suitable for direct liquid fuel cells in future. In this mini-review, we highlight the overall interest and outlook of formic acid fuel cells in terms of electrocatalysts, fuel supply and crossover, water management, fuel cell efficiency and system integration in comparison with methanol fuel cells.

Comparison of Chlorophyll Fluorescence of Three Citrus Rootstocks and Satsuma Mandarin Grafted on Them (감귤 대목과 그것에 접목한 온주밀감의 엽록소 형광특성의 비교)

  • Leaf chlorophyll fluorescence capable to estimate $CO_2$ assimilation was compared among three citrus rookstocks: trifoliate orange (Poncitrus trifoliate L.), 'Flying Dragon' (Poncitrus trifoliate L. var. monstrosa) and citromelo (Poncitrus trifoliate L.${\times}$Citrus paradisi), as well as among satsuma mandarin (Citrus unshiu cv. Nichinan No.1) grafted on the 3 rootstocks. Citromelo, the most vigorous rootstock; and 'trifoliate orange'; the most common cultivar and moderate rootstocks gave the same potential and actual quantum yields, whereas 'Flying Dragon' (very dwarf) had lower values due to a higher Fo and Fs for fluorescence obtained from dark-adapted and light-adapted leaves, respectively. These findings show that the absorbed photon energy was dissipated more as fluorescence from the antena chlorophyll in 'Flying Dragon' than trifoliate orange or 'swingle' citrimelo. The satsuma mandarins grafted on these rootstocks did not, however, show the differences observed in the rootstocks by having all the same potential and actual quantum yields. It is suggested that the rootsocks do not potentially or actually electron transport in the Photosystem II (PS II) of satsuma mandarin grafted on the 3 rootstocks.

  • Wireless sensor networks are sensing, computing, and communication infrastructures that allow us to sense events in the harsh environment. The networks consist of many deployed sensor nodes. Each sensor node senses and transmits the sensed data to the administrator or base station of the networks. The sensor nodes are generally remotely-deployed, and therefore, software update must be done at run-time via communication channel. The software code update protocol should be energy-efficient to maximize lifetime of the sensor nodes. In this paper, we present a MCUP, which is a multi-level code update protocol for resource-constrained sensor nodes. MCUP enables energy-efficient code update by supporting multi-level code management. Our simulation results show that MCUP can reduce energy consumption compared with the existing one-level code update schemes.

Sympathetic Detonation Modeling of PBXN-109 (PBXN-109가 장전된 155 mm 고폭탄의 순폭현상 해석)

  • Sympathetic detonation (SD) of high explosives occurs when a detonating donor initiates neighboring acceptors. The present study focuses on the hydrodynamic simulation of one-on-one sympathetic detonation of 155 mm charge filled with PBXN-109. Both unbuffered and buffered SD configurations are performed while changing the distance between each charge, in order to investigate the detonation sensitivity to a donor initiation. The cause of a SD is by a shock impact for the unbuffered case at a close range, while at a distant range, blast fragment penetration is the primary cause. The buffers can reduce the incident sensitivity to a SD by reducing the strengths of shock wave and impinging fragments.

  • In wireless sensor networks, sensors need to communicate with each other to send their sensing data to the administration node and so they are susceptible to many attacks like garbage packet injection that cannot be prevented by using traditional cryptographic approaches. A behavior-based detection is used to defend against such attacks in which some specialized monitoring nodes overhear the communications of their neighbors to detect bad packets. As monitoring nodes use more energy, it is desirable to use the minimal number of monitoring nodes to cover the whole or maximal part of the network. The monitoring nodes can either be selected among the deployed normal nodes or differ in type from normal nodes. In this study, we have developed an algorithm for selecting the predefined number of monitoring nodes needed to cover the maximum number of normal nodes when the different types of normal nodes and monitoring nodes are deployed. We also have investigated experimentally how the number of monitoring nodes and their transmission range affect the connection ratio of the monitoring nodes and the coverage of the normal nodes.
