Analysis of Bone Mineral Density According to Lumbar Spine Rotation and Inclination (허리뼈 회전과 기울기에 따른 골밀도 분석)

  • Osteoporosis is a disease that increases the risk of fracture. In this study, dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) was used to compare bone density according to the lumbar spine rotation and inclination. The results of the showed that the bone density decreases with the rotation of the lumbar spine, but the result was not predicted in the inclination of the lumbar spine. This is due to the change of the inclusion of lumbar spine in the area of the bone and the bone density due to the overlap between the lumbar spine 1 and 4. In other words, the Radiogical technologists needs to make efforts to prevent the rotation of lumbar spine and the overlap according to the inclusion to obtain the accurate bone density results.

  • This study is aimed to have a database of system development for the prediction, monitoring, analyzing, and evaluation of tensile strength and damage characteristics through AE technique for CFRP. Therefore the correlations between impact characteristics (such as impact velocity, impact energy, delamination area etc) and AE signals for CFRP laminates were investigated. And also it were accomplished the evaluation of tensile strength and the investigation on correlation with AE signals for impact damaged specimen of CFRP laminates.

  • 본 논문에서는 호흡 연동 장치와 EBT로부터 획득한 폐실질 영상에 대하여 동적 윤곽선 모델 방법과 영역 성장법을 이용하여 폐실질 영역을 검출하였다. 그런 다음 , 검출된 폐실질 영역내에서의 각종 정량적 요소들을 도출하여 농도 분포 곡선에대한 분석을 하였다. 동적 윤곽선 모델방법에서 페실질 영역의 낮은 휘도 준위와 폐의 윤곽선 벡터 방향을 고려한 에너지 함수를 제안하였다. 그리고 폐실질 영역 성장법에서는 폐실질 영역내의 분포한 공기 성분에 대한 화소를 확장시켜 효과적으로 폐실질 영역을 검출하였다. 추출된 폐실질 영역내의 빈도 분포 곡선을 분석하여 정상군과 비교한 결과 만성 폐쇄성 폐질환자에서는 정상인에 비하여 평균 농도,최대 빈도 농도, 최대 상승 기울기 농도가 낮았으며, 농도 분포곡선은 더 낮은 쪽으로 이동하였음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 특발성 폐섬유증 환자에서는 평균 농도, 최대 빈도 농도, 최대 상승 기울기 농도가 모두 증가되었고 농도 분포 곡선은 더 높은쪽으로 이동하였다. 폐실질 영역을 추출하여 히스토그램 분포에 대한 정량적 분석을 함으로써 정상인으로부터 만성 폐쇄성 질환자의 폐섬유증 환자를 구분할 수 있었다.

  • In this study, DC (Direct current) type steam plasma igniter is developed for effective ignition of high-energy density metal aluminum and gas temperature is measured by emission spectrum of OH radical. Because of the ultra-high gas temperature, the DC plasma jet is measured by Boltzmann plot method which is the non-contact optical technique and spectrum comparison-analysis. And both methods were applied to experiment after accurate verification. As a result, we could identify that plasma jet temperature is 2900 K ~ 5800 K in the 30 mm range from the nozzle tip.

Basic Engineering (Physics) Education by PBL Method in Elliptical Trainers (ET 헬스기구에 PBL 교수법을 적용한 기초공학(물리학) 교육)

  • For a basic engineering education Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method was adopted in order to pursuit the learner acquisition of critical knowledge, problem solving proficiency, and self-directed learning strategies by measurements of various physical and biological units, by calculation of errors in experimental data, by leraning energy conservation law and equation of motion, and, by analysis ability on data patterns through Elliptical Trainer(ET) exercise. The results show the ET may be a good experimental tool for understanding the PBL method. A sample syllabus was provided for one semester use, and by use of data obtained by self-directed and creative learning, the results of three groups for the PBL problems proposed by using ET were (1) the slope of angle was 23.5o in the diagram of energy exhaustion against velocity (GROUP A), (2) the angle range between the maximal and minimal energy exhaustion against weight loss was 15.0o ~ 26.5o (GROUP B), and finally (3) the angle was varied by 51.0o in the diagram of weight loss against distance (GROUP C).

Growth and characterization of CdTe single crystals by vertical Bridgman method (수직 Bridgman법에 의한 CdTe 단결정의 성장과 특성)

  • CdTe single crystals were grown by vertical Bridgman method using double furnace with two siliconit heating elements. When the peak temperature of the upper furnace was fixed at $1150^{\circ}C$ and that of the lower furnace was $800^{\circ}C$, the temperature gradient was about $22.5^{\circ}C$/cm. The lattice constant $a_0$ was $6.482\AA$ from the X-ray diffraction and the band gap energy obtained from the optical absorption experiment at room temperature was 1.478 eV. PL spectrum showed that the bound exciton emission peak was resolved into ($A^0,X$) (1.5902, 1.5887 eV), ($h\;D^0$) (1.5918 eV) and ($D^0,X$ (1.5928, 1.5932 eV), and we have also calculated binding energy and ionization energy of the neutral donor and acceptor.

  • This study is concerned with an application of the Boundary Element Method to 2-dimensional elastoplastic stress analysis on the material nonlinearities. The boundary integral formulation adopted an initial stress equation in the inelastic term. In order to determine the initial stress increment, the increment of initial elastic strain energy due to elastic increment in stressstrain curve was used as the convergence criterion during iterative process. For the validity of this procedure, the results of B.E.M. with constant elements and NISA with linear elements where compared on the thin plate with 2 edge v-notches under static tension and the thick cylinder under internal pressure. And this paper compared the results of using unmedical integral with the results of using semi-analytical integral on the plastic domain integral.

Heat-Flux Analysis of Solar Furnace Using the Monte Carlo Ray-Tracing Method (몬테카를로 광선추적법을 이용한 태양로의 열유속 해석)

  • An understanding of the concentrated solar flux is critical for the analysis and design of solar-energy-utilization systems. The current work focuses on the development of an algorithm that uses the Monte Carlo ray-tracing method with excellent flexibility and expandability; this method considers both solar limb darkening and the surface slope error of reflectors, thereby analyzing the solar flux. A comparison of the modeling results with measurements at the solar furnace in Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) show good agreement within a measurement uncertainty of 10%. The model evaluates the concentration performance of the KIER solar furnace with a tracking accuracy of 2 mrad and a maximum attainable concentration ratio of 4400 sun. Flux variations according to measurement position and flux distributions depending on acceptance angles provide detailed information for the design of chemical reactors or secondary concentrators.

  • Concentration errors critically affect the performance of solar concentrator, so their evaluation is important to the concentrated solar power technology. However, the evaluation is very challenging because error sources are various and not easy to measure individually. Therefore, the integrated effect of concentration errors is often more interesting and useful for large-scale applications. In the present work, we analytically investigate and classify various concentration error sources and then explain that the effect of various concentration errors can be represented in terms of a root mean square value of reflector surface slope error. We present an indirect approach to assessing the reflector surface slope error by comparing solar flux measurement data with modeling calculations. We apply the approach for solar furnaces with different thermal capacity and investigate its advantages and disadvantages.

전자구조 및 화학적 물성 변화에 따른 InGaZnO 박막 트랜지스터의 소자 특성 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 a-InGaZnO (IGZO) 활성층에 대기분위기에서 열처리 온도를 각각 $150^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$, $350^{\circ}C$ 실시하여 전자구조와 광학적 특성분석 및 화학적 결합 상태의 변화를 알아보고, 이러한 물성 변화에 따른 소자의 특성을 알아 보았다. 박막 트랜지스터 소자의 전기적 특성은, IGZO 박막에 후 열처리 공정온도 후 제작한 박막 트랜지스터는 $150^{\circ}C$에서 3.1 cm2/Vs의 전계 효과 이동도와 0.38 V/decade의 문턱전압 이하 기울기를 보였으나, $350^{\circ}C$에서는 8.8 cm2/Vs의 전계 효과 이동도와 0.20 V/decade의 문턱전압 이하 기울기로 더 향상된 박막 트랜지스터의 전기적 특성 결과를 관측하였다. 전기적 소자 특성의 변화와 활성층 IGZO 박막 특성 변화와의 상관관계를 조사하기 위하여 X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS)과 Spectroscopy Ellipsometry (SE)로 측정된 흡수 스펙트럼을 통하여 3 eV 이상의 광학적 밴드 갭은 기존에 보고 되었던 a-IGZO와 유사한 특성을 보이고 있음을 확인하였고, 이러한 측정, 분석법들을 통해 후 열처리 공정 온도에 따른 밴드 갭 부근의 결함준위의 양 변화와 가전자대의 전자구조의 변화에 따라 전기적 특성이 달라짐을 확인 할 수 있었다. 또한, X-ray Photoemission Spectroscopy (XPS)를 통해 측정한 O-1s를 통해 Oxygen deficient state와 밴드 갭 부근의 결함준위와의 상관관계를 도출해낼 수 있었다. 이는 a-IGZO 활성층에 후 열처리 공정 온도 변화에 따라서 전자구조의 혼성변화와 밴드 갭 부근의 결함준위의 양의 변화, 에너지 준위의 변화 및 이와 연관된 화학적 상태 변화가 박막 트랜지스터의 특성 변화를 예상할 수 있다는 결과를 도출하였다.
