  • The important national cultural heritages were retrieved. April 25 2014, US President Barack Obama formally returned 9 Seals of Joseon Dynasty and Korean Empire in Korea-US Summit taken place in Cheong Wa Dae. These Seals were taken out of Deoksugung illegally by a US Marine Corps officer during Korean War, handed down to his posterity, and last November 2013 confiscated by HSI in San Diego. Through investigations above facts turned out and it was decided to return these relics to Koera. In the process of surveying these seals, I confimed the authenticity of them and transferred my opinion to Cultural Heritage Administration. In this paper, I try to summarize the historical value of each Seals and suggest the remaining task.

  • This study researched the elements about seafood culture among the archetypes of 『Jasan Urbo』. We built a hypothesis on 100 species of fish presented in 『Jasan Urbo』 to extract archetypes from them. To prove this hypothesis, we analyzed the properties of archetypes according to recipes. Next, we grasped the food preferences of past ages by inspecting 'taste' words of the literature. Finally, we examined the relations between dominant features of cuisine and fish preferences. We have found four attributes of maritime cultural archetypes. Our research has limitations since we could not had accounted the whole fish species of 『Jasan Urbo』. However, we achieved the huge outcome by our research, in which we applied various extraction methods of archetypes and acquired the dominance of maritime cultural archetypes and preferences.

  • In this study, presents geographic analysis of Heuksando Island We classified each area of the island according to physical attributes. Then, we derived the meaning of each area as a physical space and virtual space. In order to symbolize the events that happens around the spaces, we set directions and relations for those spaces. In this process, we figured the stages of voluntary experience that originates from the user's actions. This study proposes hierarchical categories of virtual environments from spacial reality, experience and the creation of simulacrum.

  • In this study, we propose a marine character prototype study for development of a marine character as digital contents. This study is a precedent study to build a marine character database with the production of digital contents based on "Jasan-urbo". "Jasan-urbo" is a representative cultural heritage that can highlight the value of Korean marine culture as the first illustrated book of marine creatures in Korea. Therefore, we examined the use value of "Jasan-urbo" through the content approach and looked at the visualization for character utilization and then designed a marine fish species classification standard model. Finally, this study proposed the possibility of discovering prototype sources for digitalization of Korean marine creature's resources.

  • Quality evaluation of fish muscle was conducted in olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus fed with control or experimental diet containing 0.3% of Obosan (Sungam Co., Korea). Sensory panel members preferred the experimental fish were more preferable than those of control (P<0.01 or 0.05). The difference test was shown that the experimental fish muscle is more firm elastic and palatable than the control ones (P<0.01 or 0.05). The physical properties of meats from fish fed a diet containing Obosan improved qualities with compared to those of control meats. The total amount of free amino acids in muscles from control fish (31.7 mg/100mg), especially with the significant increase of glutamic acid, proline, glycine, alanine and methionine. In all nucleotides and their related compounds, ATP was the most abundant in muscles from fish fed a diet containing Obosan (about 1.9 fold compared to mean of control), however, IMP was more abundant in control muscles.

  • This study is about the historical records of anchovy which has fluent nutritions as well as the representative side dish in Korean food culture and life. The formal first record about anchovy is in the Uhaeieobo written by Damjeung in 1803. Another important historical record about anchovy are Hyeonsaneobo(Jasaneobo) written by Jeong Yak-jeon in 1814, and Eomyeonggo(Fish name list) of Nanhoeomogji written by Seo Yu-gu in 1820. The anchovies were used for food in Korea even before the Chosun Dynasty, but they were not noticed by people. Because at that time, fishing tools and instruments such as nets were not developed enough to raise enough catches and food processing technology were not developed. Since then, in the Japanese colonial era, it has been actively developing agricultural fertilizers using anchovies. In addition, the processing technology that can be used as an edible food using anchovy has been rapidly developed. Now, the anchovy industry has very important position in Korea's fisheries industry. Among them, 'Jukbangryum anchovy' catching bamboo weir tool which has been existed for over five hundred years in Namhae province, not only creates great high economic value, but also has cultural value. Therefore, the historical literature study on anchovy can be used as an invaluable resource not only for the study of fishery from an industrial point of view, but also for the registration of world cultural heritage and GIAHS (Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System) of 'Jukbangryum' which is traditional fishery catching instrument in Korea.

  • The Internet Engineering Task Force (lETF)proposed the Mobile IPv6 protocol to provide host mobility in IPv6-based network and to offer a standardized technology. However, Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) is not applied in actual network because of long handover latency and packet loss problems. Therefore, to compensate these drawbacks, many studies are in progress and FMIPv6 (Fast handover for Mobile IPv6) is one of the studies that has been proposed to supplement the shortcomings of MIPv6. But there are problems occurred in using router tunneling which causes packet loss and out of sequence problems. In this paper, we propose an Advanced Mobile IPv6 (AMIPv6) protocol to minimize the handover latency when Mobile Node frequently moves in each subnet. We compared the performance analysis of AMIPv6 handover latency with MIPv6 handover latency in the same network environment to prove that AMIPv6 is more efficient.

  • Three feeding experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of herbs (Obosan-C or Obosan-O) as an additive in formulated diets on growth and body composition of juvenile abalone (Haliotis discus hannai), Three replicate groups of abalone initially average weighing 206 mg, 827 mg and 432 mg were fed the each one of experimental diet containing $0\%\;or\;1\%$ Obosan for 10 (experiment 1), 7 (experiment 2) and 19 weeks (experiment 3), respectively. In addition, an imported commercial diet for abalone was also employed to compare growth performance of juvenile abalone. Weight gain of abalone fed the diet containing Obosan-O was significantly (P<0.05) higher than that of abalone fed the control diet in the experiment 3. Moisture, crude protein and ash contents of soft whole body were not influenced by dietary herbs (P>0.05), whereas crude lipid content of abalone fed the diets containing Obosan-C was significantly (P<0.05) lower than that of abalone fed the control diet in the experiment 2. The results indicate that Obosan-O as an additive in formulated diet can improve body growth of juvenile abalone.
