  • This study aims to develop a rapidly hardening type of concrete to achieve the removal of form intensity (more than 10MPa) using the method of curing at room temperature in order to solve some economic environmental problems by omitting the steam curing process involved in producing PC (Precast Concrete). Therefore, this study evaluated a rapidly hardening cement containing a high amunt of C3S, which is very responsive in expressing early intensity, and a rapidly hardening type of concrete which uses some hardening accelerator to increase thehydration reaction of $C_3S$. The results of the experiment on concrete using some hardening accelerator are asfollows. In the slump flow experiment for identifying the liquidity and the air test, the desired values were met. The compression strength showed rapid expression response by 12 hours, and met the desired value within 6~9 hours. Its drying shrinkage value and Autogenous shrinkage value were measured as below ($-754.5{\times}10^{-6}$),and satisfied the requirements. In addition, in the Semi-Adiabatic Temperature Test, it was found that the concrete rose to its peak temperature within 24 hours and then its temperature dropped.

  • The concrete mix should be designed and produced to reflect the specific site conditions during concrete placement. That is, the concrete mix design should be planned considering temperatures, work environments, pouring methods, etc. The objective of this research is to understand the external factors of curing temperature and delay time that influence concrete strengths during pouring work, and provide concrete mix design that can be most robust to the effects of external factors. The Taguchi's robust method is used in preparing the concrete mix design to achieve the research objective. In a case study, an indoor concrete test was performed to find the optimal combination of concrete mixes with external factors of curing temperature and delay time. Concrete test cylinders were made to test concrete strengths given different external factors. The study results showed that the optimal performance of concrete strength can be achieved by applying the robust method when preparing a concrete mix design.

  • This study is to provide an prediction model of setting time of super retarding mortar based on equivalent age method under various super retarding agent contents, curing temperature, and water-binder ratio (W/B). An equation for predicting setting time using maturity was proposed. Test results indicated that the setting time can be predicted by determining the curing temperature, W/B, and super retarding agent contents and substituting it into the equation proposed in this study. The coefficient of determination of the equation is 0.9 or more, and the reliability was confirmed through the F-test. Finally, using the equation proposed in this paper, reasonable quality control is possible regarding the setting of super retarding concrete in practice.

  • In this study, strength characteristics of concrete specimens subjected to horizontal continuous vibration during initial curing were investigated. As experimental variables, vibration velocity(0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0 kine) and vibration time(3, 6, 12, 24 hrs) were used. Density and segregation of the specimens were also investigated. Vibrating was started soon after placing, and strengths investigated consist of compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and bond strength. Strengths decrease were hardly occurred at 0.25 kine vibration velocity regardless of vibration times and all strengths were increased for 3 hrs vibration at 0.5 kine vibration velocity. Density was increased for all specimens due to the vibration and there was no serious segregation under even 4 kine vibration velocity.

  • This study is to search for recycling method of the WCP(waste concrete powder). From the experiment analysis on the chemical composition, we confirmed that $SiO_2$ was occupied about 60% of WCP. To investigate the applicability of WCP as replacement material of Quartz, we tested the properties of autoclaved light weight concrete containing WCP. As a results, when increasing the replacement of WCP, compressive strength decreased and pore diameter did not change. On the other hand, when increasing curing times, compressive strength and pore diameter increased.

  • Artificial stone plates were hydrothermally prepared in order to utilize the stone powder sludge which were generated from stone quarry . Calcium hydroxide and silica were added to sludge of which main phases were quartz and alumina, and the effect of vapour pressure, reaction time and added amount on the properties of plates were investigated. The compressive strength, water absorp-tion and apparent specific gravity of the plates, which were prepared from the mixture of 70% stone sludge, 20% calcium hydroxide and 10% silica for 3 hours at the conditions of pressing pressure of 200kg/㎠ and vapour pressure of 20 kg/㎠, were 614kg/㎠, 0.48%, 1.88 respectively. It was also possible to produce various colours and appearances by adding inorganic pigments.

  • In this study, we conducted a comparative analysis of the effects of retention time and resuscitation method on the degree of resuscitation after reapplying mortar with much FA replacement. Results After applying NaOH to the top surface of 60 % FA-substituted mortar, the degree of resuscitation at $40^{\circ}C$ was high enough to increase the overall curing time, but there was no significant difference. However, with regard to the curing method, middle curing showed the greatest manifestation, followed by wrapping and underwater curing, but there was no significant difference. The resuscitation level on the 28th of the lumber was found to be revived to about 70~80 % at around 30 % without resuscitation.

  • The hydration process of Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM) used for backfill is the primary factor to determine the construction period. The objective of this study is to monitor the hydration process of CLSM using the Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) and to establish the relationship between dielectric constant and compressive strength. The CLSM specimen is composed of cement, flyash, silt, sand, accelerator, and water. The material characteristics of the CLSM including flow, unit weight, compressive strength are investigated. To measure the dielectric constant of the CLSM during the curing time, TDR probe incorporated with a mold and a reflectometer are used. Experimental results show that the dielectric constant remains constant at early stage, and then decreases as the curing time increases. In addition, the dielectric constant is related to the compressive strength in inverse power function. This paper suggests that the TDR technique may be used as a non-destructive testing method in order to estimate the compressive strength of the CLSM mixture under construction.

  • This is the experimental study on the strength development of the light weight concrete block according to the autoclaving time. The calcareous source used the cement, siliceous material used the bottom ash ground to fine particle, and the PP fiber used to increase toughness. The results of this experiment are as follows. According to the increase of autoclaving time and the fiber content, compressive and flexural strengths are increased. Despite of the changes of the autoclaving time, tobermorite was produced on each of the specimens. However, the phase of tobermorite was changed in accordance with the changes of autoclaving time.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the optimum water absorbing curing time. It was found that the cement paste compressive strength was increased with the water absorbing ratio up to 40%, but the compressive strength was slightly lower when the catch level was over 50%. It is considered that the superfluous water did not react and remained in the inside of the specimen, causing microcracks in the inside due to the high temperature curing, resulting in a decrease in strength. Therefore, it is considered that the optimum catcher curing time for improving the strength through catcher curing is when the catcher reaches 40%.
