Seismic design in low to moderate seismic regions has to be based on the characteristics of seismic risk, ground motion and structural response in that region. The characteristics of seismic hazard in low to moderate seismic regions are reviewed briefly. The recent findings on the dynamic behavior subjected to the moderate intensity level of ground motion are summarized. The seismic design considerations in Eastern America, China, Australia, Thailand and Hong Kong will be introduced. The effort to adopt the limited ductility design in low to moderate seismicity regions will be reported. Finally research works that are required for the implementation of the limited design concept will be proposed.

This research aims at evaluating the seismic performance of the existing R/C bridge piers, which were seismically designed in accordance with the provision of moderate confinement design code (Eurocode 8). The work presented in this paper experimentally investigates the ductility and hysteretic behavior of circular reinforced concrete columns with moderate confinement. Pseudo-dynamic tests have been carried out on two scaled R/C column specimens to investigate their hysteretic behavior and other seismic performance.

1977년 대한양계협회 회장직에 당선하여 '인화' '유신' '약진'을 목표로 협회를 맡은 후 1978년 12월 정기총회에서 다시 연임되어 지금까지 3년간 협회직장을 맡아온 본회 오세정 회장이 금년 9월 건국대학교 축산대학 학장의 중책을 맡게되므로서 금년 총회에서 협회장직을 사퇴할 뜻을 밝혔다. 양계업계와 대한양계협회로서도 가장 격동기였던 3년간 갖은 우여곡절로서 협회를 이끌어오며 양계업계의 가장 중심적인 인물로서 부각되어 양계업계를 위해 그 뜻을 다한 오세정 회장을 찾아 80년대의 협회, 80년대의 양계업계에 대한 비젼을 들어본다.

국내의 표면처리 약품은 선진국의 다국적 기업에 의존하는 경향이 크다. 최근 십 수년간 국내 표면처리 약품 제조사의 약진이 괄목하다고는 하나, 아직도 대부분을 외국으로부터 수입하는 실정이며, 특히 자동차용, 전자부품용 등 부가가치가 높은 약품에 대한 해외 의존도가 높은 실정이다. 본 보고에서는 당사가 표면처리 약품을 국산화하기 위하여 걸어온 분야 중 중심이 되는 몇 가지를 소개하고, 그 문제점 및 앞으로 나아갈 방향에 대하여 토론하는 기회가 되었으면 한다.

Seismic activity of Korea is not so high as that of Japan or California and most of the structures were designed without considering the influence of earthquakes until the first seismic design code was enforced in 1988. Therefore, it was very hard to find seismically isolated structures in Korea until 1980's. Korean engineers assumed that the seismic isolation or vibration control would be useful only in a high seismicity region while such technologies can be quite useful in a low seismicity region for the efficient reduction of earthquake damages. Recently, Korean engineers began to have interest in the seismic isolation or vibration control and applied it to some important structures such as LNG storage tanks, many bridges and several buildings. However, design codes are not defining such useful advanced technologies for the design of building structures and several projects employing seismic isolation or vibration control in the design of structures had difficulties in obtaining construction permit from the local government. Therefore, it is an urgent requirement to introduce these advanced technologies in the seismic design code.

Objective : This study was aimed to review the Act on the Promotion of Korean Medicine and Pharmaceuticals. Method : We searched document about the Act on the Promotion of Korean Medicine and Pharmaceuticals. We used Korean Law Information Center(https://www.law.gov.kr) to find the revision of the act. Results : We looked at the current status of the revision of the Act on the Promotion of Korean Medicine and Pharmaceuticals, and the law was revised four times in total. Through the revision of the law, the definition of Korean medical practice was not only expanded, but also the establishment and role of National Institute of Korean Medicine Development were extended. Specific descriptions of Korean medicine technology will be needed in the future, and laws that are less effective should be revised and the role of National Institute of Korean Medicine Development should be further strengthened. Conclusion : For the future of Korean medicine, in-depth consideration is needed on how to foster oriental medicine.

Objectives: Korea has a unique history of being both a recipient and a donor of Official Development Assistance (ODA), and the international community expects Korea to contribute to the development of developing countries by utilizing this experience. Traditional Korean medicine (TKM) seeks to contribute to global health, however the concept of ODA has been unclear and there has been no clear strategy and sustainable initiatives. Methods: This study examines the concept of ODA and its application in global health, including business objectives, scale, evaluation principles, and development strategies. Additionally, we reviewed the current status of Traditional Korean medicine globalization projects and conducted a SWOT analysis of the internal and external environment of the TKM sector. Based on these findings, we redefined the concept of ODA for TKM and proposed suggestions for its development. Results: The current study identified key ideas for TKM ODA. It should prioritize the improvement of primary healthcare in recipient countries, aligning with the international evaluation criteria of the SDGs. Secondly, TKM's 70 years of experience can be leveraged to enhance both the competence and economic benefits of recipient countries' medical systems. Based on these concepts, a TKM ODA development model was proposed, comprising two core visions, three development strategies and goals, and six core values. Conclusion: This study systematically examined the TKM in global health and suggested sustainable development strategies for TKM ODA. Through its expansion, TKM could contribute to the advancement of global traditional medicine and its overall engagement in healthcare.

In order to evaluate the cost effectiveness of seismic isolation for bridges in low and moderate seismic region, a method of calculation minimum life-cycle cost of seismic-isolated bridges under specific acceleration level and soil condition is developed. Input ground motion is modeled as spectral density function compatible with response spectrum for combination of acceleration coefficient and site coefficient. Failure probability is calculated by spectrum analysis based on random vibration theories to simplify repetitive calculations in the minimization procedure. Ductility of piers and its effects on cost effectiveness are considered by stochastic linearization method. Cost function and cost effectiveness index are defined by taking into consideration the characteristics of seismic isolated bridges. Limit states for calculation of failure probability are defined on superstructure, isolator and pier, respectively. The results of example design and analysis show that seismic isolation is more cost-effective in low and moderate seismic region than in high seismic region.

Drug Eruption refers to an adverse effect which is unintentionally given rise to by dosage, injection, inhalation, suppository and ointment, etc. Hereby this report is about a remedial value of Gwaghyangjungkisan which was prescribed for a 78 year-old male featuring Soeumin who had suffered from papular eruption after taking a medicine composed of extract of gingko leaves.
