Smart Design for App (스마트한 앱 설계방법)

  • The paper describes the efficient and agile design methodology for the smart phone application, so called the App. Despite the number of smart phones as well as their applications is rapidly being increased recently, the smart and easy methodology for App development is not well developed and not matured in use yet. Since the App is converted to programs or contents from the new ideas, especially, it is important to design and implement the App rapidly and systematically. In order to resolve this problem, we adopt the UI centered approach first of all, emphasizing user-efficient utilization of applications. And we also try to build the whole process in streamlined procedure, making each step reasonable, and the input and output for the step well organized. The design methodology described here is evaluated by designing popular sample application, Scheduler, and also compared with some well-known software design methodologies.

A Practical Design and Implementation of Android App Cache Manipulation Attacks (안드로이드 앱 캐시 변조 공격의 설계 및 구현)

  • Android uses app cache files to improve app execution performance. However, this optimization technique may raise security issues that need to be examined. In this paper, we present a practical design of "Android app cache manipulation attack" to intentionally modify the cache files of a target app, which can be misused for stealing personal information and performing malicious activities on target apps. Even though the Android framework uses a checksum-based integrity check to protect app cache files, we found that attackers can effectively bypass such checks via the modification of checksum of the target cache files. To demonstrate the feasibility of our attack design, we implemented an attack tool, and performed experiments with real-world Android apps. The experiment results show that 25 apps (86.2%) out of 29 are vulnerable to our attacks. To mitigate app cache manipulation attacks, we suggest two possible defense mechanisms: (1) checking the integrity of app cache files; and (2) applying anti-decompilation techniques.

  • 기존의 종이책은 다양한 스마트 모바일기기의 활발한 보급으로 인해 전용 단말기와 뷰어 앱(Veiwer App)을 통해 전자책(e-book)으로 서비스되고 있다. 최근에는 텍스트(Text) 중심의 전자책과 달리, 텍스트와 함께 동영상, 다양한 상호작용 요소를 중심으로 하는 앱북(App book)의 형태로 진화되고 있다. 아이패드(iPad)용 앱스토어(App Store)에서는 도서 관련 앱이 28%를 차지할 정도로 앱북 시장이 빠르게 성장함에도 불구하고, 여러 가지 전자책 전용 단말기, 뷰어 앱 UI(User Interface) 관련 연구들에 비해 앱북의 콘텐츠 및 UI에 대한 연구가 상대적으로 부족한 상황이다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 앱북 콘텐츠의 표시 방법에 따라 3개의 유형으로 분류하고, 대표 앱북을 선정하여, 콘텐츠의 객체 표시방법에 대해 분석하고, 상호작용 요소들을 분석하였다. 이를 통해, 객체 별 상호작용 요소를 고려한 전자잡지형 앱북의 콘텐츠 표시 방법 프레임워크를 설계하였다.

  • 프로그래밍 개발 시에 발생하는 위험요소로는 비용, 품질, 일정이 있다. 이와 같은 문제는 구현시에 발생하게 된다. 구현 중심의 개발방법론을 택하여 이러한 위험을 방지하기 위해 본 논문에서는 애자일 방법론을 적용하여 앱 개발을 수행했다. 앱 개발에 필요한 기능 추출 및 분석, 애자일을 적용한 짝 프로그래밍, 사용자 스토리, 스프린트 계획을 작성하였다. 애자일 방법론을 적용해 고객, 사용자, 개발자 간의 소통을 이끌어내 프로젝트의 성공률을 올리고 개발자간의 원활한 의사표현을 통해 복잡도가 높은 업무를 원활히 수행할 수 있도록 애자일 방법론을 적용하였다.

  • In this paper, we present a development process model for mobile applications. It consists of five development phases including requirements analysis, architecture design, navigation design, page design, and implementation and testing phase. It provides a design method with diagrams. Our development method helps program developers define functional requirements and design applications architecture and functional flow. Through our method, they can reduce their applications development time and effort. We applied our method to developing a mobile application, and then presented the diagramming products as the result of performing development phases.

  • Not only learners majoring in computer science, but also non-engineered learners want to implement their ideas as apps through real-life problems. In response, first-year university students with little experience in creating apps studied how to develop mobile platform apps to improve computing thinking skills. We applied the teaching and learning procedures of the Discovery-Design-Development among the software teaching and learning models, and used Android Studio Unified Development Environment (IDE) as a development tool to design mobile platform app development projects and assess whether they helped improve computing thinking skills. The application of the designed teaching and learning method found that the project output was implemented as an app through emulator, which gave students high interest in class and satisfaction, and was effective in improving their computing thinking ability.

  • Authentic programming environment makes App Inventor interesting educational programming language. However, there are not sufficient studies for usefulness of App Inventor as educational programming language, so proper design of App Inventor education is not available. This article aims to design proper programming education plan using App Inventor. A survey was conducted to ask for appropriation of App Inventor education to teachers and students. As a result, teachers and students were satisfied with App Inventor for programming language in elementary and secondary schools, due to easy-to-use programming environment and real product run in their devices. But learners need to have prior knowledge to use App Inventor and teachers have to manage learners' devices properly. Finally, revised elementary and secondary programming education plan using App Inventor was presented.

The Effects of Interactivity on User Experience and Intention to use in Mobile Fitness App Game (모바일 피트니스 앱 게임의 상호작용성이 운동경험과 이용의도에 미치는 효과 : 플레이테스트 실험연구)

  • This study attempted to identify differences in user experience and app game fun, satisfaction, use intention between fitness app games at different level of interaction design. The playtesting method was conducted on 100(male 50, female 50) university students using 'Enjoy Your Fitness', a fitness app game developed by The Center for Health Communication Studies. The results found that more interactive app game is higher in the level of user experience such as fitness accomplishment, flow, and interest. Fitness app game's fun, satisfaction, use intention is also higher on interactive fitness app game. As the study verified that interactive fitness app game had stronger effects in user fitness experience and user experience than general fitness app games through experimental studies, it may contribute to design fitness mobile app game for health improvement.

  • 스마트TV는 스마트폰과 달리 가족이 사용하는 디바이스로 인식되고 있다. 그러나 스마트TV도 SNS(Social Networking Service), 웹 서비스 등 가족인 아닌 개인 단위로 사용하는 앱(application)뿐만 아니라 각 개인마다 선호하는 게임을 포함한 앱(application), VOD 리스트, TV 채널 등이 다르다고 볼 수 있다. 그리하여 스마트TV에서도 개인 맞춤형 사용자 인터페이스가 필요하다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 스마트TV 환경에서 기존 윈도우 로그인 시스템처럼 개인만의 맞춤형 사용자 인터페이스를 제시한다. 그리하여 각각의 사용자들은 개인만의 환경에서 앱(application)을 실행하거나 TV를 볼 수 있다. 기존 연구되고 있는 채널 네비게이션 기법을 토대로 VOD list, 게임을 포함한 앱(App)을 개인 맞춤형 인터페이스로 보다 편리하게 사용할 수 있는 방법도 제시한다. 채널 네비게이션은 로그인한 각 자신만의 환경에서 사용자가 과거에 시청한 TV 채널을 조사하여 많이 시청한 TV 채널을 보여 주게 한다. 그리하여 보다 자신이 선호하는 채널을 쉽게 시청할 수 있다. 이와 더불어 VOD 리스트와 게임을 포함한 앱(application)을 과거에 시청하거나 사용했던 패턴을 분석하고 선호하는 VOD 리스트와 앱(application)을 예측하여 보여주어 개인의 맞춤형 인터페이스에서 보다 빠르게 접근이 가능하며 편리하게 사용할 수 있다.

Designing an App Inventor Curriculum for Computational Thinking based Non-majors Software Education (컴퓨팅 사고 기반의 비전공자 소프트웨어 교육을 위한 앱 인벤터 교육과정 설계)

  • As the fourth industrial revolution becomes more popular and advanced services such as artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technology are widely commercialized, awareness of the importance of software is spreading. Recently, software education has been taught not only in elementary school and college but also in college. Also, there is a growing interest in computational thinking needed to solve problems through computing methodology and model. The purpose of this study is to design an app inventor course for non-majors software education based on computational thinking. As a result of the study, six detailed competencies of computational thinking were derived, and six detailed competencies were mapped to the app inventor learning elements. In addition, based on the computational thinking modeling, I designed an app inventor class for students who participated in IT curriculum of university liberal arts curriculum.
