상용 공정시뮬레이션 프로그램을 이용한 부유식 LNG 발전설비의 BOG 회수시스템 공정모사 (Process Simulation of the BOG Re-Liquefaction system for a Floating LNG Power Plant using Commercial Process Simulation Program)

  • 최근 환경규제가 강화됨에 따라 액화천연가스(Liquefied Natural Gas)를 이용하여 전력을 생산해내는 신규발전설비인 부유식 LNG 발전설비(floating LNG power plant)가 개발되고 있다. 부유식 LNG 발전설비는 운용 시 증발가스가 발생하고 이를 제거하거나 회수할 수 있는 시스템의 설계가 필요하다. 그러나 해양플랜트는 해상요건에 따라 설계가 상이하고, 부유식 LNG 발전설비의 설계 전 시행착오를 줄이기 위해 지속적으로 수정이 가능한 BOG 회수시스템 공정모사 모델이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 상용공정시뮬레이션 프로그램을 통해 부유식 LNG 발전설비에 적합한 모델을 모델링하고자 냉매사용 유무에 따라 서로 다른 BOG(Boil-Off Gas) 회수시스템을 모델링하여 BOG의 회수율과 액화점을 비교 및 분석하였으며, 그 결과 질소냉매를 사용한 BOG 회수시스템 모델을 부유식 LNG 발전설비용 BOG 회수시스템 모델로 제안하고자 한다.

이중관 삼중흐름 열교환에 의한 LNG 기화시스템의 열적 해석 (Thermal Analysis of Double-tube Triple-flow LNG Vaporization System)

  • As sea water is being used as only heat source of LNG open rack vaporizer, serious problem has been risen in LNG terminal by the lack of heating energy source for LNG vaporization due to the temperature drop of sea water in winter. In this paper the new double-tube triple-flow(TRIDEX) vaporizer was suggested to solve the problem and the system was thermally analysed. LPG(liquefied petroleum gas) and sea water were introduced as the heat sources for LNG TRIDEX vaporizer. The flow patterns of TRIDEX vaporizer are as follows: LNG flow in the annular space, PG(petroleum gas) flow in the inner tube, and sea water flow in the outside of the double pipe. The overall LNG vaporization system was consisted of TRIDEX vaporizer, LPG vaporizer and PG heater. LPG in TRIDEX was directly dispersed in the sea water desalination unit, so that LPG turns to be gas phase for the reuse in TRIDEX vaporizer. New TRIDEX vaporizer system for LNG evaporation was analysed as much more effective than the present single tube one in the case of colder temperature of sea water in winter.

  • 초저온 액화가스인 LNG의 저장탱크에 사용되는 9% 니켈강은 Inconel 혹은 Hastelloy 계열 용접봉을 사용하여 용접되며, 용접부는 저합금강과 오스테나이트 스테인리스강의 이종금속 용접부와 유사한 특성을 가지고 있다. 용접부에 대한 방사선투과시험 시 용접조건에 따라 밴드형태의 지시가 방사선투과 필름 상에 나타나곤 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이에 대한 해석을 위하여 재료, 방사선투과시험, 초음파탐상시험, 액체침투탐상시험 및 조직시험을 통하여 의사지시 여부를 확인하였으며, 방사선투과시험 해석 및 밴드형태 지시의 발생 원인을 제시하였다.

  • Highly accurate control of an air-fuel ratio is very important to reduce exhaust gas emissions of gaseous-fuel engines. In order to achieve this purpose, a precise engine model is required to estimate engine performance from the engine design process which is applied to the design of an engine controller. Engine dynamics are considered to develop a dynamic engine model of a gaseous-fuel engine. An effective air mass ratio is proposed to study variations of the engine dynamics according to the water vapor and the gaseous-fuel in the mixture. The dynamic engine model is validated with the LPG engine under steady and transient operating conditions. The experimental results in the LPG gaseous-fuel engine show that the estimation of the air flow and the air-fuel ratio based upon the effective air mass ratio is more accurate than that of a normal engine model.

  • Two- and Three- dimensional numerical simulations are carried out to understand the combustion characteristics of LNG-fueled gas turbine combustor for power generation using imported and domestic natural gases. Reacting flow characteristics of the swirl stabilized natural gas combustor were understood from the numerical results with the flow conditions selected from the gas turbine operation data. The thermal influences of different natural gases were very small and the fuel composition and flow rate were considered to be tuned well. The flow structures of the recirculation and combustion region was understood from the comparison of the two- and three-dimensional results. The complexity of the three-dimensional swirl flows inside the gas turbine combustor with multiple swirlers was understood those resulting from the interactions of the stage and pilot burners.

  • The vessels which are operated in ECA (Emission Control Area) after $1^{st}$ January 2016 shall be complied with revised NOx emission requirement (Tier III). Effective solutions for NOx emission requirement are SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and Installation of LNG Dual Fuel Engine. This study is considered the design modification as per application of LNG Ready notation. In case of LNG Ready - S notation, the vessel shall be retrofitted the Main engine with Dual fuel engine and LNG Fuel system after delivery. On this paper, the entire process for design modification was explained to meet the requirement for LNG Ready notation.

LNG 냉열을 이용한 공기액화분리시스템의 시뮬레이션 및 공정 해석 (Process Analysis and Simulation for System of Air Liquefaction Separation Using LNG Cold Energy)

  • The process of separating oxygen and nitrogen from the air is mainly performed by electric liquefaction, which consumes a lot of electricity, resulting in higher operating costs. On the other hand, when used for cold energy of LNG, electric power can be reduced compared to the electric Linde cycle. Currently, LNG cold energy is used in the cold refrigeration warehouse, separation of air-liquefaction, and LNG cold energy generation in Japan. In this study, the system using LNG cold energy and the Linde cycle process system were simulated by PRO/II simulators, respectively, to cool the elevated air temperature from the compressor to about $-183^{\circ}C$ in the air liquefaction separation process. The required amount of electricity was compared with the latent heat utilization fraction of LNG, the LNG supply pressure, and the LNG cold energy usage. At the air flow rate of $17,600m^3/h$, the power source unit of the Linde cycle system was $0.77kWh/m^3$, compared with $0.3kWh/m^3$.

  • 가스배관 종류 및 사용 환경에 따른 거시적 파괴거동 평가해석을 위하여 1) 가스배관의 특성 및 환경에 따른 파괴거동 변화의 컴퓨터해석과 2) Battelle Two-Curve Method를 이용한 연속연성파괴거동 평가해석을 수행하였다. 새로운 사용환경의 가스와 오일의 배관계획이 진행되면서, 개선된 성능, 신뢰성, 그리고 경제성을 위한 재료가 요구되고 있다. 여기서 제시되는 연속연성파괴 해석은 높은 배관압력, 큰 배관직경과 같은 배관 특성의 변화와 천연가스와 같이 다양한 성분을 함유하는 가스, 수소가스, 액화 이산화탄소 등과 같이 다양한 수송매체의 변화를 수용하기 위한 배관시스템에서 고려하여야 할 중요한 기술요소이다.

  • The leakage of cryogenic LNG through cracks in the insulation membrane of an LNG carrier causes the hull structure to experience a cold spot as a result of the heat transfer from the LNG. The hull structure will become brittle at this cold spot and the evaporated natural gas may potentially lead to a hazard because of its flammability. This paper presents a computational model for the LNG flow and heat diffusion in an LNG insulation panel subject to leakage. The temperature distribution in the insulation panel and the speed of gas diffusion through it are simulated to assess the safety level of an LNG carrier subject that experiences a leak. The behavior of the leaked LNG is modeled using a multiphase flow that considers the mixture of liquid and gas. The simulation model considers the phase change of the LNG, gas-liquid multiphase interactions in the porous media, and accompanying rates of heat transfer. It is assumed that the NO96-GW membrane storage is composed of glass wool and plywood for the numerical simulation. In the numerical simulation, the seepage, heat diffusion, and evaporation of the LNG are investigated. It is found that the diffusion speed of the leakage is very high to accelerate the evaporation of the LNG.
