We experimented on growth in light and production of hydrogen and organic matters in dark fermentation by using C. reinhardtii. In the light, growth rate of C. reinhardtii following $CO_2$ fixation was proportional to consumption rate of nitrogen source. And the starch in cell was accumulated more when the period of culture was lengthened more. But the accumulation rate of starch in cell was decreased when the growth rate of cell become dull. In the dark fermentation, the production volume and production rate of hydrogen were the highest value in the mid exponential state among other states. The utilization efficiency of substrate was better in the early exponential state than other states. In production of organic matters, acetic acid didn't change remarkably and ethanol showed the highest value in early exponential state.
Hydraulic fracturing tests were performed in two inclined boreholes for the design of underground oil storages in Korea. Extensions of their application limits were expected through a precise comparison between the interpretation techniques for the vertical and the inclined boreholes. Especially, it was verified that the magnitude of in-situ stress can be varied even in the same rock mass with a variety of geographic/geotechnical characteristics. It was also demonstrated that its orientation can be changed even in the same borehole with the existence of explicit discontinuities.

The collapse of the underground cavity can cause the abrupt local subsidence of the ground surface. It can be hazardous to the stability of road and building for human activity. Therefore it is necessary to develop reinforcement methods for the filling of the underground cavity. This study was executed to improve the material quality and systems to fill the calcium-aluminate mineral $(C_{12}A_7)$ environmentally, and minimize the loss of filling materials for the steep underground cavity. Filling material which was developed in this study is composed of rapid hardening material and additives. The developed material had rapid hardening and non-separation ability in the water cavity condition, so it made the effective underground dam in the cavity with prevention of material loss when it was poured in the water cavity. Results of heavy metal leaching test for environmental assessment showed that it was environmentally suiTable material for the filling in the mine cavity.

Hydraulic fracturing technique has been applied in various fields in order to improve the recovery of energy resources such as gas, oil and geothermal energy and research about finding out hydraulic fracturing mechanism and application has been steadily proceeded. In this study, for effective hydraulic fracturing, a scale modeling was progressed to simulate similarly with the actual site. In order to analyze the development aspect of surface crack initiation pressure during hydraulic fracturing followed by different conditions, the number of guide holes hydraulic fracturing test was carried out by setting up a hydraulic fracturing test equipment. Also, through the result, we tried to derive reliable results by comparing and analyzing the value of numerical modeling which is obtained based on the physical properties and mechanical properties with 3DEC, a three-dimensional discrete element method program. As a result, it is considered possible to generate effective crack using the guide hole.
This study was started for providing the application method of hyperspectral im age over extreme cold area as the Antarctic. Study area was Terra Nova Bay area which was decided as the candidate of 2nd Antarctic base station. For deciding last location of base station, many researchers tried to analyze the suitability of this study area. Among many suitability indicators, the location and stability of extracted bed rock area were very important. Using many spectral information of hyperspectral data, we tried detecting of bed rock and classifying four rock types. As additionally data, international spectral library of rock were used in this study. At the results, short-infrared wavelength bands were useful in the detection and classification of bed rock.
In this study, the rebar rock bolt sensor and GFRP rock bolt sensor, which can be monitored, were embedded in a large model slope, and the behavior of slopes occurred in the early stage of slope collapse was analyzed after performing the field failure test, numerical analysis of the individual element method and finite element method. By comparing and analyzing the field test and numerical analysis results, field applicability of rock slope collapse monitoring on the rebar rock bolt sensor and GFRP rock bolt sensor was investigated. Through this study, smart slope collapse prediction and warning system was developed, which can be used to induce effective evacuation of residents living in the collapsible area by detecting landslide and ground decay precursor information in advance.

Over-break, which is excavated larger than planned line at tunnel excavation, is inevitable due to the nature of blasting. But regarding the bottom of the foundation, most of the domestic ordering organizations pay only 10 cm thick filled concrete when pouring concrete due to over-break. In accordance, the construction cost will increase greatly if all the depths of the designed over-break are filled only with concrete. When tunnel excavation occurs, concrete filling of 18 MPa(T = 100 mm) and 150 mm~237 mm auxiliary concrete layer and 240 mm concrete track(TCL) are applied to the upper part. The concrete is installed in an excessive amount of about 600 mm between the lower part of the rail and the tunnel rock bed. Therefore, in this study, it is necessary to analyze the concrete crack structure according to the depth of the existing tunnel and the modified tunnel section, and to evaluate the adequacy of the required thickness of the tunnel floor concrete for securing the crack stability of the concrete.
Hydraulic fracturing is guaranteed to create or enlarge fracture, so the hydraulically created fracture acts as a conduit in the rock, allowing the groundwater to flow more freely through the fracture system. In a recent study, it showed that 12 wells where hydraulic fracturing was performed increased well production. However, it was estimated not to present representation by rock type due to not enough wells. Therefore, this study was performed to clarify the application of hydraulic fracturing at 19 water wells. Rocks were divided into igneous rocks (9 sites), metamorphic rocks (4 sites), and sedimentary rocks (6 sites) to evaluate representative features. As a result, the average of well yield increases $93.4\%$ in the igneous rocks, $103\%$ in the metamorphic rocks, and $42.2\%$ in the sedimentary rocks. Accordingly, hydraulic fracturing presented in this study provides an effective method for increasing well production
This paper introduces the surface roughness parameter, Rs to the characterization of joint roughness and quantitatively illustrates the influence of joint roughness on the joint shear strength. A new peak shear strength criterion for rock joints using Rs is suggested. The results show that the surface roughness parameter, Rs can appropriately reflect the degree of roughness for the rock joint surfaces tested in this study A measuring interval of 2mm and profile length of 5cm can be used to characterize the joint roughness of the rock core size surfaces; however, the scale of fluctuation, $\delta_\alpha$ should be considered to extend the surface roughness parameter, Rs to the large-scale field rock joint surfaces. For the smooth joint roughness, sliding of the rock cores is the principal shear mechanism; however, the breakage of roughness from the rock cores is inferred for rougher joint roughness.
Recently, the demand for pollution-free demolition work of old reinforced concrete and steel structure has rapidly increased as the redevelopment of urban area has been accelerated. This study deals with linear shape charges for explosive jet cutting on steel structure. We have tested material and shape of steel structure, characteristics of thickness and strength, shape of linear shape charges, type of shape charges, cumulative charges, type of liner, stand-off distance, detonation method. effect of sound and vibration by air blast in explosive jet cutting method. So, We developed linear shape charges in order to take advantage of optimum explosive jet cutting condition. Shape charges were made of PETN explosives. We obtained the experimental formula to decide the amount of explosive needed for thickness of steel structure plate. There are prospects for application of the explosion curving technology under the open space conditions for dismantling the steel structure and steel bridge, scrapped old boats, which are going out of service.
