The application of simplified risk assessment for tunnel (터널 리스크 평가 기법의 적용성에 대한 연구)

  • Unexpected ground conditions have always been a major problem for the construction of tunnel. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the risk capacity before and/or during construction of new tunnel. This paper presents the simplified risk assessment system using modified stability number (N), namely Underground Risk Index (URI) system, to evaluate the tunnel risk possibility in the design stage. URI is a scoring system for risk possibility by rating the each appraisal elements. The modified stability number (N) which is one of risk factor in the Interaction Matrix parameters such as RQD, UCS, weathering, overburden, stability number, ground water-table, RMR, permeability and so on, is used in the system. In addition, the case study is performed in order to verify the applicability of URI-system in practice.

  • This paper intends to develop an assesment technique for the rapid and quantitative evaluation of tunnel safety during tunnel excavation by using displacement measurements. Control criteria for the field measurements are provided at tunnel construction sites in Korea and other countries. However, it was known that the criteria were not clear and varied depending on the construction sites. In order to make a reasonable support for guidelines, critical strain concept is introduced in this study. And the engineering meanings of the critical strain concept are investigated precisely. In order to do this, at first, the engineering meanings of the original concept from the previous researchers was investigated theoretically for the evaluation of tunnel safely. Subsequently displacement data were obtained by using the commercial program, then the evaluation of tunnel safely was conducted with the view point of previous researches. Additionally, strains are determined from the feedback analyses program by inputting measured displacements that were obtained from the commercial program, then the evaluation of tunnel safety was discussed with the critical strain concept. Consequently it can be concluded that the evaluation of tunnel safety can be determined quantitatively and rapidly in the field by introducing the critical strain concept.

Evaluation on the Stability of Solidified Waste Forms (방사성고화체의 물리화학적 안정성 평가)

  • The stability of various waste forms to meet waste acceptance criteria was evaluated by using standard test methods of U.S.A and France. Compressive strength of waste forms were above 176.03 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$(cement), 15 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$(paraffin). In the thermal cycling test, there were no any change in their feature and volume, the loss of weight was 6.15% on the average. In the immersion test for 120 days, the loss of weight of paraffin waste form was 8.85-5.14% pH=3.83. The G-Value of $H_2$ and $CH_4$ in paraffin wax at $10^8rads$ rads of exposure dose were 2.65, 0.016.

Vitabrid-C를 함유한 피부 미백용 트윈케익 파우더 개발

  • 비타민 C(L-ascorbic acid)는 강한 항산화성, 피부에 대한 높은 안전성으로 인해 피부의 노화방지, 미백, 주름 개선 등의 기능성 화장품 원료로써 많은 관심이 있는 물질이지만, 화학적으로 매우 불안정하여 쉽게 산화, 분해되므로 화장품 제형으로 포함시키는데 곤란한 문제가 있다. 본 연구에서는 비타민 C 의 안정성에 대한 단점을 보완하기 위하여 생체 및 피부 친화성이 우수한 무기물을 사용하여 비타민 C 를 캡슐화(encapsulation)한 분말상의 유-무기 복합물질 Vitabrid-C 를 합성하고, 이를 함유하는 피부 미백용 트윈케익 파우더를 개발하였다. 우선 Vitabrid-C 는 수용액상에서 비타민 C 를 수화된 산화아연(ZnO)으로 1 차 캡슐화하여 나노입자를 형성시키고, 그 표면을 실리카(silica)나노 입자로 한번 더 코팅하여 표면의 껍질이 다공특성을 갖는 분말을 제조함으로써 완성하였다. 이렇게 제조된 Vitabrid-C는 순수 비타민 C 에 비해 우수한 안정성을 보였으며, 캡슐 내 비타민 C 가 서서히 방출되는 서방특성을 발휘하였다. 또한 Vitabrid-C는 입자의 크기가 미세하고 균일하여 트윈케익 처방에 용이하게 적용할 수 있었다. Vitabrid-C와 순수 비타민 C의 생화학적 동등성에 대한 평가는 tyrosinase 억제능(L-DOPA oxidase 억제) 및 DPPH항산화 실험을 통하여 비교하였다. 트윈 케익 처방에 적용된 Vitabrid-C 에서 비타민 C 의 피부 투과경향을 Franz diffusion cell 법을 이용하여 확인하였다 또한 Vitabrid-C가 포함된 트윈케익을 건강한 피부를 가진 25 세 이상되는 여성의 전박에 색소 침착을 유도한 후 피부색 개선 효과 평가를 통해 임상적 효능을 평가하였다.

  • Ceramic pigments, which show good thermal and chemical stabilities, have been applied for various industry with development of digital printing technology. Ceramic inkjet printing has advantages of high efficiency of ink usage and eco-friendly process. Thus, the interest of the ceramic pigments with various function and color including CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) digital primary color is increasing. Here, we investigated the thermal and chemical stabilities of white ceramic pigment for digital inkjet printing process. The microstructure and crystal structure of MgO, $Al_2O_3$, $MgAl_2O_4$, $CeO_2$ were analyzed, and the stability with glaze were evaluated. In order to evaluate the applicability for digital inkjet printing, the chemical stability of white ceramic pigments at high temperature was investigated by characterization of the mixed color properties with CMYK ceramic pigments after firing process.

Quality Evaluation of Basalt Aggregates from JEJU Island (제주산 현무암의 콘크리트용 골재 사용을 위한 품질 특성 평가)

  • This study was carried out to assess the suitability in terms of the standards of material quality of basalt aggregates from JEJU Island as a source for concrete aggregate. Quality assessments on the basalt aggregates were performed to assess the soundness of coarse aggregates using sodium sulfate solution, aggregate crushing test, and Los Angeles abrasion test. In addition, XRD, XRF, porosity, and compressive and tensile strength tests were performed to analyze the chemical components and the mechanical properties. In general, the mechanical properties of basalt aggregates from some areas did not meet the Korea Standards (KS), but the levels of compressive and tensile strength were higher than those of granite, andesite, and sandstone of other regions.

  • An influence factors for soundness evaluation of river levee include consisting embankment in case piping, permeability coefficient of ground, height of embankment, the width of crest, material characteristics of embankment and foundation ground, shape of embankment slope, an influence for penetration of rainfall or river water in case slope stability. In this study, it was operated a feasibility investigation of existing design result, stability evaluation for permeability coefficient use and permeability coefficient change of foundation ground to investigate an influence in line with permeability coefficient change for result of river levee penetration analysis. The evaluation results of influence factors, the permeability coefficient was used in design and it was evaluated influence in safety factor of piping. After the evaluation of influence factors, the permeability coefficient used in the design appears with the fact that differs in a design report about same soil.

Determination of Weight of environmental/ecological assessment Factors of Environmental Conservation Value Assessment Map (ECVAM) in Korea using Artificial Neural Network and GIS (인공신경망 및 GIS를 이용한 국토환경성평가지도 환경.생태적항목 가중치 분석)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 인공신경망 기법을 이용하여 2006년 전국을 대상으로 구축된 국토환경성평가지도의 환경 생태적항목에 대한 각 항목별 가중치를 결정하는 것이다. 기본 분석 도구로 지리정보시스템(GIS)가 사용되었다. 국토환경성평가지도의 환경 생태적항목은 다양성(생태자연도), 자연성(임상도, 녹지자연도, 생태자연도), 풍부도(생태계변화관찰 지역도), 희귀성(생태자연도), 허약성(수치지형도, 토지피복도), 군집구조의 안정성(임상도)등이 활용되어 구축되었다. 본 연구는 기 구축되어 사용되고 있는 국토환경성평가 지도의 환경 생태적항목을 공간 데이터베이스를 이용하고, 인공신경망 기법을 적용하여 각 평가항목간의 상대적 가중치를 구하였다. 인공신경망의 훈련 지역은 환경 생태적항목중 환경성이 높은 1등급 지역 및 환경성이 낮은 5등급 지역을 추출하였다. 그 결과 50번의 가중치를 산정하였을 경우 허약성이 다른 항목들에 비해 1.58배 정도 높은 상대적 가중치를 나타냈다. 이러한 가중치는 국토환경성평가지도 환경 생태적 항목의 취약성도를 작성하는데 활용될 수 있다.
