The Relationship between Attitude, Subjective Norms, Perceived Behavioral Control, Intention and Safer Sexual Behavior in the Experienced University Students of Sexual Intercourse (성 경험이 있는 대학생의 태도, 주관적 규범, 지각된 행위통제 및 의도와 안전한 성행위 간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this research was to identify the relationships between attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intention and safer sexual behavior in experienced university students of sexual intercourse. The research participants were 388 students of university in Seoul. Considering the extremely private and sensitive topic of this research, data collection was performed through online and mobile media from April 1 to 14, 2013. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 Programs. As a results, safer sexual behavior had a meaningful relationship with subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intention of safer sexual behavior. Based on these results, it is suggested that the results the of this research are used to develop nursing intervention strategies for the promotion of sexual health, such as sex education programs or sex counseling programs targeting university students.

Meta-Analysis of Factors Related to Patient Safety Nursing in Nursing University Students (간호대학생의 환자안전간호 관련요인에 대한 메타분석)

  • Purpose is to systematically examine the factors related to patient safety nursing of nursing university students in a convergent and complex aspect and to identify the effect size through meta-analysis. The research method used PRISMA(Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). Medline, Embases, CINAHL, DBpia, Research Information Service System (Riss), and Korean Studies Information Service (Kiss) were used, while overseas databases were searched using MeSH terms and Emtrees. The search term was [(patient safety or patient harm or safety management) and (students, nursing)] or [(patient safety or patient harm or safety management) and (education, nursing, graduate)].The research found that nursing performance, knowledge, attitude, self-confidence, recognition, and cognition were found to be relevant factors in the order of confidence, attitude, recognition, and knowledge.

Analysis of Educational Needs and Correlation between Knowledge and Attitude of Radiation Protection among Emergency Medical Services Students for Life Care (일부 응급구조학과 학생들의 라이프케어를 위한 방사선방어에 대한 지식과 태도의 상관관계 및 교육요구도 분석)

  • This study was attempted to identify the analysis of educational needs and correlation between knowledge and attitude of radiation protection among emergency medical services students for life care to recognize the importance of radiation protection and provide the basic data for developing personalized educational programs for safety management in radiation protection for emergency medical services students. The result showed that the correlation between knowledge about radiation protection and attitude toward it, there was a positive correlation between attitude score and knowledge score regarding the radiation protection (r=.472, p<.000). In participation intention into the education about the radiation protection, 82% of the responders said that they had participation intention. In time when they are to be educated, 2nd graders was the highest at 54.9%, in instructional method, lecture with audiovisual materials was the highest at 59.04%, and in lecturer, radiological technologist was the highest at 77.45%. It could be found from such findings that emergency medical services students' life care of education needs for radiation protection and participation intention were high and concluded that safety management educational program development for radiation protection is required with accurate knowledge about radiation protection and positive attitude and to increase the educational effects, radiological technologist's utilizing the audiovisual materials for instruction is the most effective.

A Study on Consumer's Attitude for Food Safety and Purchase of Environment Friendly Agricultural Products (소비자의 식품안전에 대한 태도와 친환경농산물 구매행동에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to assess the level or consumer's attitude or food safety and their effects on the purchase or environment friendly agricultural products. For these purposes, the survey was implemented to 550 adults who resided in Seoul and metropolitan area. As a results, a lot of respondents perceived the five food hazards, pesticides, food additives, BSE, chemical materials, GMOs as the severest food risks. Results revealed that women, the most educated, married, and the older respondents were more likely to be negative about food safely. And Also, consumer's knowledge of environment friendly agricultural products was lower than the median. The respondents who have bought environment friendly agricultural products were 80.5% of the entire respondents. Also, the educated and the consumers who had the knowledge of the environment friendly agricultural products started to purchase them. The consumers who had higher income, perceived the food hazards(BSE), assessed agricultural products safety negatively, had willingness to pay them and more knowledge of environment friendly agricultural products were likely to purchase them usually.

Comparison of Sexual Knowledge, Attitude, Experiences and Intention of Safe Sex Behavior between Pornography Exposures and Non-Exposures (음란물 접촉자와 비접촉자의 성에 대한 지식, 태도, 성경험, 안전한 성행위 의도 비교 - 고등학생을 중심으로 -)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify differences in knowledge, attitude, sexual experiences, and intention of safe sex behavior between pornography exposures and non-exposures. Methods: The subjects of this study consisted of 196 non-exposures and 160 exposures among high school students in the Chungnam Province. Data were collected from Dec.1 to Dec. 23, 2005. Result: The results of this study were as follows: The pornography exposures had more liberal attitudes, more sexual intercourses in sexual experiences, and less intention of safe sex behavior than the pornography non-exposures. There was no significant differences in sexual knowledge between the pornography exposures and non-exposures. Especially the score of knowledge related to contraceptive methods and venereal diseases was relatively low in both groups. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that pornography can affect sexual attitudes, sexual experiences, and intention of safe sex behavior. An effective 'safe sex' education program needs to be developed for high school students. especially for pornography exposures.

The Effectiveness of Error Reporting Promoting Strategy on Nurse's Attitude, Patient Safety Culture, Intention to Report and Reporting Rate (오류보고 촉진전략이 간호사의 오류보고에 대한 태도, 환자안전문화, 오류보고의도 및 보고율에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of strategies to promote reporting of errors on nurses' attitude to reporting errors, organizational culture related to patient safety, intention to report and reporting rate in hospital nurses. Methods: A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was used for this study. The program was developed and then administered to the experimental group for 12 weeks. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, $\chi^2$-test, t-test, and ANCOVA with the SPSS 12.0 program. Results: After the intervention, the experimental group showed significantly higher scores for nurses' attitude to reporting errors (experimental: 20.73 vs control: 20.52, F=5.483, p=.021) and reporting rate (experimental: 3.40 vs control: 1.33, F=1998.083, p<.001). There was no significant difference in some categories for organizational culture and intention to report. Conclusion: The study findings indicate that strategies that promote reporting of errors play an important role in producing positive attitudes to reporting errors and improving behavior of reporting. Further advanced strategies for reporting errors that can lead to improved patient safety should be developed and applied in a broad range of hospitals.

Knowledge, Attitude, and Confidence on Patient Safety of Undergraduate Nursing Students (간호대학생의 환자안전에 대한 지식, 태도 및 수행자신감)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine undergraduate students' level of knowledge, attitude, and confidence toward patient safety. Methods: A descriptive survey design was used. The subjects consisted of 932 senior nursing students who have had clinical practice in nursing schools in a metropolitan city in Korea. The data were collected from March 4th to 28th in 2011. Knowledge, attitude, and confidence on patient safety were measured using self administered questionnaires. Data were analyzed with SPSS 18.0 using descriptive statistics, t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: Knowledge of patient safety was relatively low and attitude and confidence were at moderate level. There were statistically significant differences in knowledge, attitude, and confidence toward patient safety according to gender, educational system, grades, satisfaction with nursing major or clinical practice, and experience of patient safety education or patient safety campaign. There was a significant positive correlation among knowledge, attitude and confidence on patient safety. Conclusion: The study findings suggests that concept and skills on patient safety need to be educated systematically during undergraduate curriculum linked with clinical practicum.

Analysis on Attitude and Education Need for Food Safety of High School Students in Gyeongbuk Province (경북지역 고등학생의 식품 안전성에 대한 태도 및 교육요구도 분석)

  • This study examined the attitude and education need for food safety of high school students. Data were collected from 297 high school students in Gyeongbuk province through a self-administered questionnaire on December, 2008. Frequency, t tests, one-way analysis of variance, Duncan's multiple range tests, and chi-square tests were conducted using SPSS V. 14.0. Many respondents answered that the foods produced and distributed in Korea were not safe enough. Over a third of the respondents replied that the produced and distributed foods were not safe because of unsanitary food processing. They pointed out food additives threatened food safety the most, which was followed by heavy metal contamination, and endocrine disruptors. Most respondents mentioned difficulties in acquiring information concerning food safety, and obtained information from the media, such as TV and radio. The respondents required a high level of education regarding food safety, and preferred movie clips and broadcasting media the most. Finally, they pointed out food-related government organizations to be the most efficient educational institution for food safety.

A Study on the Attitude in Recognition of Environmental Pollution and Safety of Laundry Detergents - centering around Jeonju.Gunsan - (의류용 세제의 환경오염 및 안전성에 대한 태도 연구 -전주 . 군산을 중심으로-)

  • This study analyed the results of the survey on the actual condition and the attitude in using laundry detergents of housewives in Jeonbuk region centering around Jeonju\ulcornerGunsan. The purpose of this study is to give more reasonable and scientific clothing management and to help to solve the problems of the environmental pollution caused by laundry detergents. Both Jeonju(71.4%) and Gunsan(71.0%) got informations about environmental pollution through mass media like TV and Radio. As for the degree of recognition of regenerated soap, comparing with the synthetic detergent, most people thought that the regenerated soap had better detergency, less water pollution, and less harm to the human being than the synthetic detergent. Accordingly, it showed they misconceived it. It showed that the aged consumers in Jeonju and Gunsan had all good attitudes for the practice. As roles of consumers toward the problems of environmental pollution, the respondents who thought that the consumers roles were important took high percentage(Jeonju 86.8% and Gunsan 84.5%). In conclusion, they showed high degree of concerns in the recognition of necessity about the proper use of detergent, however, low in their attitudes in real life applications.

Effect of the Safety Education on Knowledge and Attitude about Jnjury Prevention among Elementary School Children (안전교육이 초등학생의 사고예방에 대한 지식 및 태도에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study aimed at not only suggest some ideas useful in planning and doing the safety education in the elementary schools in the near future putting into test the safety education proposal which has been developed by researchers in accordance with the national 7st education courses but also improve health of the children through taking right safety knowledge and sound safety attitude. Method: For this study 140 student are selected from 3-5th grade of the elementary school in Kyoungki-Do and Kwangwon-Do and have been taught the safety education during 10weeks, 10times. Result: 1) After the safety education, knowledge about the injury prevention of the children show to be significantly different from that they had before(t=-9.156, p=.000). 2) In order to look into any effect of the attitude about injury prevention after the safety education there were significant difference(t=-3.755, p=.000). Conclusion: As the findings of the study indicating that safety education expand the correct knowledge about injury prevention and have more affirmative and sound attitude about injury prevention. So it may be concluded that, safety education have the positive effect both knowledge and attitude about injury prevention among elementary school children.
