Simultaneous Analyses for Trace Multi-Odorous and Volatile Organic Compounds in Gas using a Triple-bed Adsorbent Tube (Triple-bed Adsorbent Tube를 이용한 가스상 극미량 복합 악취 및 휘발성 유기화합물의 동시 분석)

  • The objective of this study is to assess feasibility of simultaneous analysis for trace multi-components odorous and volatile organic compounds using a Triple-bed adsorbent tube with a thermal desorber and GC-MS. Triple-bed adsorbent tube is 3 bed packed Tenax-TA with small amount of Carbopack B and Carbosieve SIII in order of adsorption strength in a tube. The operating conditions of GC-MS was possibly able to and effectively detect high volatile and low molecular weight compounds at the mass range of 20~350 m/z using a below impurity 1ppm of Helium carrier gas, of which quantitatively analyzed by target ion extracts. According to the experiment, $C_1{\sim}C_5$ of 14 components; sulfur containing compounds(2), ketones(2), alcohols(4) and aldehydes(6) were simultaneously analyzed with recoveries of 99%, and good repeatability and linearity. High volatile and low molecular weight compounds such as methyl alcohol and acetaldehyde can be safely quantified with high recovery at a condition of 50mL/min of flow rate, below 2L of adsorption volume, and 45% of relative humidity. Target ion extract can also simultaneously quantify multicomponents with odorous and volatile organic compounds in an occasion of piled up two peaks.

  • To understand the possible hazards to health from the environmental pollution in Korea, the articles reported in 16 daily newspapers were collected and analysed. From 1980 to 1991, ninety three cases were reported. Statistics show that, during the last 2 years, there has been a remarkable increases of health problems reported. The main sources of pollution were plants and the transportation facilities. Except the noise, the exact causative factors were, for the most part, not clealy described. Although many residents complained of neurological symptoms, the exact effects on health were not clearly investigated. The responses of the residents were diverse in the contents of the demand and the method of its pushing, however, the government did not show immediate and consistent counterplans.

Development of Low Irritative, Eco-friendly Nail Polish Including Shellac/gelatin (쉘락/젤라틴을 함유한 저자극·친환경 매니큐어의 개발)

  • Nail polish is used to decorate nail beautifully however, it contains lots of toxic materials. Generally, Nail polish consists of film-forming agent, colorant, solvent, surfactant and stabilizer. In this study, to replace toxic chemicals to low irritative, eco-friendly ingredients, we prepared 4 kinds of nail polish and tested safety, stability and performance. Nail polish including shellac/gelatin showed best performance in water-resistance, friability and drying time. When cell toxicity test is done by MTT assay, shellac-gelatin nail polish showed over 70% cell viability at $1,000{\mu}g/mL$ whereas control nail polish in market showed 50% cell viability. At 4 weeks temperature stability test, color was stable at low temperature however it needs formulation improvement at higher temperature.

  • 일반적인 로봇시스템은 자신이 이동해야 할 목표 지점을 자율적으로 생성할 수 없으므로 어떤 다른 시스템의 정보를 이용하여 주변을 탐색하거나 장애물을 인식하고 식별하여 자신의 제어전략을 수립한다. 그러므로 본 논문에서 제시한 시스템은 초소형 비행체를 이용하여 주위 환경과 자율 이동로봇의 위치 정보를 탐색할 수 있도록 시스템을 구성하였다 이러한 시스템의 성능은 로봇이 위치하고 있는 주위의 불완전한 정보로부터 적절한 결론을 유도해 낼 수 있어야 한다. 그러한 비선형적인 문제는 현재까지도 문제 해결을 위해 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 자율이동로봇의 행동 환경을 공간상의 제약을 받지 않는 비선형 시스템인 초소형 비행체에 극초단파(UHF16채널) 영상장치를 이용하여 호스트 PC로 전송하고 호스트 PC는 로봇의 현재 위치, 이동해야 할 목표위치, 장애물의 위치와 형태 등을 분석한다. 분석된 결과 파라메타는 RF-Module을 이용해서 로봇에 전송하고, 로봇은 그 데이터를 분석하여 동작하게 된다. 로봇이 오동작 또는 장애물로 인해 정확한 목적지까지 도달하지 못할 때 호스트 PC는 새로운 최단경로를 생성하거나 장애물을 회피 할 새로운 전략을 로봇에게 보내준다. 본 연구에 적용한 알고리즘은 초소형 비행체에서 탐지한 불완전한 영상정보에서도 비교적 신뢰도 놀은 결과를 보이는 A* 알고리즘을 사용하였다 적용한 알고리즘은 실험을 통하여 실시간으로 정보를 처리할 수 있었으며, 자율 이동로봇의 충돌회피나 최단 경로 생성과 같은 문제를 실험을 통하여 그 성능과 타당성을 검토하였다.delta}textitH]$를 도출하였다.rc}C$에서 30 ㎫의 압력으로 1시간동안 행하였다 소결한 시편들은 직사각형 형태로 가공하였으며 표면은 0.5$\mu\textrm{m}$의 다이아몬드 입자로 연마하였다. A Study on Environmental and Economic Analysis for Each Treatment of Sewage Sludge(III) - Results of Environmental Assessment - (하수슬러지 처리방법별 환경성 및 경제성 분석에 대한 연구(III) - 환경성 분석 중심으로 -)

  • This study investigated the environmental and economical assessment for sewage sludge treatment options including biogasification, incineration, carbonization, drying, and solidification. For the economical feasibility the 30 plants with anaerobic digestion treatment and the 17 plants without anaerobic digestion treatment were investigated. In regarding to the environmental assessment, the air emission pollutants (SOx, NOx, etc) from incineration and carbonization plants were assessed and 1~34 % of emission limits was emitted. Drying and solidification plants emitted about 30 % of odour limits. And the rest of the pollutants were emitted either at not-detectable level or at below the limits. When the by-products from the solidification treatment was used as landfill cover materials, the unconfined compression strength could be below the limit and it could cause an unsafe condition for those passing vehicles and the possibility of the ground subsidence. There has been a maintenance difficulty due to frequent blockage and operational failure. The result of the comparison of sewage sludge treatment options showed that anaerobic digestion+incineration was the most economically feasible considering incineration and drying. For smaller treatment capacity, solidification was the most economically feasible considering carbonization and solidification and anaerobic digestion+carbonization was the most economically feasible considering carbonization and solidification.

A study on algal bloom forecast system based on hydro-meteorological factors in the mainstream of Nakdong river using machine learning (머신러닝를 이용한 낙동강 본류 구간 수문-기상인자 조류 예보체계 연구)

  • Blue-green algal bloom, or harmful algal bloom has a negative impact on the aquatic ecosystem and purified water supply system due to oxygen depletion in the water body, odor, and secretion of toxic substances in the freshwater ecosystem. This Blue-green algal bloom is expected to increase in intensity and frequency due to the increase in algae's residence time in the water body after the construction of the Nakdong River weir, as well as the increase in surface temperature due to climate change. In this study, in order to respond to the expected increase in green algae phenomenon, an algal bloom forecast system based on hydro-meteorological factors was presented for preemptive response before issuing a algal bloom warning. Through polyserial correlation analysis, the preceding influence periods of temperature and discharge according to the algal bloom forecast level were derived. Using the decision tree classification, a machine learning technique, Classification models for the algal bloom forecast levels based on temperature and discharge of the preceding period were derived. And a algal bloom forecast system based on hydro-meteorological factors was derived based on the results of the decision tree classification models. The proposed algae forecast system based on hydro-meteorological factors can be used as basic research for preemptive response before blue-green algal blooms.

Effect of Protein Level and Dietary Germanium Biotite on Egg Production, Egg Quality and Fecal Volatile Fatty Acid in Laying Hens (단백질 수준과 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가가 산란생산성, 계란품질 및 분내 휘발성 지방산에 미치는 영향)

  • This study conducted to investigate the effect of dietary germanium biotite by protein level in laying hen diets. One hundred forty four, 51 weeks old ISA brown commercial layer, were used in experiment. Dietary treatments were 1) low protein diet(LPD), 2) high protein diet(HPD), 3) LPD-GB(LPD + 1.0% germanium biotite) and 4) HPD-GB(HPD + 1.0% germanium biotite). Henday egg production tended to be increased as the concentration of protein in diets increased with significant difference(P<0.01). Egg weight tended to decrease by increasing of supplementation germanium biotite in the diets(P<0.01). Egg shell breaking strength was not influenced by germanium biotite supplementation(P>0.05). Large band of egg decrease as increasing of supplementation germanium biotite in the diets(P<0.02). Sharp and middle band of egg were not influenced by germanium biotite supplementation. Egg yolk index tended to decrease as increasing of supplementation germanium biotite in the diets(p<0.01). Fecal propionic acid(P<0.01) and butyric acid(P<0.03) were decrease as the concentration of germanium biotite in the diet was increased. Also, butyric acid increased as the concentration of protein in diets increased with significant difference(P<0.02). Supplementation germanium biotite in the diet reduced the fecal acetic acid(P<0.01). Fecal $NH_3$-N of hens fed HPD-GB diet was decreased(P<0.05) compared to that LPD-GB diet. In conclusion, germanium biotite supplementation to layer diets can reduce fecal volatile fatty acid compabebts.
