4년마다 찾아오는 지구촌 축제가 이제 바로 코앞으로 다가왔다. 이달 13일 제28회 아테네 올림픽이 막을 올리는 것이다. 고대올림픽의 이상을 계승해 쿠베르탱 남작의 제의에 따라 그리스 아테네에서 첫 근대 올림픽 경기가 시작됐던 1896년의 제1회 올림픽경기 이후 108년 만에 다시 그리스 아테네에서 올림픽 성화가 올라가게 된다. 개막 이후 8월 29일까지 17일 동안 대한민국 남녀 선수들의 멋진 경기 모습이 TV를 통해 중계될 것이며, 우리나라의 선전을 바라는 국민들은 밤잠을 설치며 이를 지켜보고 또 응원할 것이다. 이 올림픽의 열기는 모바일콘텐츠 세상에서도 뜨겁게 타오르고 있다. 이번 모바일콘텐츠 리뷰에서는 2004 아테네 올림픽에 발맞춰 올림픽 관련 게임들을 살펴봤다.

The starting point of education is the ancient Greek philosophy. In this paper, we research the Hellenism culture: two famous poleis such as Sparta and Athens. Moreover, we investigate prominent philosopher Plato and Aristotle. In particular, we notice early childhood and female education through Hellenism culture. Finally, we study culture, politics and educations of the ancient Roman in order to compare those of our society.

This paper is to review the conclusions of the Athens conference that has so far contributed to the conservation world. It is normally called the conclusions of the Athens conference as the Athens charter. But the conclusions of the Athens are not as same as the Athens Charter regarding the contents. The former had more valuable contents than the latter regarding historic monuments. And the report of the Athens conference including 56 articles and 500 pages with 55 photos was published in 1933 by the International Museums Office. But little attention has been given to the report of the Athens conference. Therefore the point I want to make is to review to the report in order to understand the agenda of the conference and to examine the Anastylosis in Acropolis. In conclusion, these agendas and the articles in the report show us that the conference was sort of milestone with some advanced modern philosophical and technical concepts about conservation and restoration of historic monuments. Also when the term of anastylosis turns to reconstruction in archaeological sites, we are going to face with the problems of authenticity.

교통수단의 발달과 해외여행 자유화 물결을 타고, 이제 세계의 나라들이 우리 생활과 성큼 가까워진 듯하다. 그러나 단순한 여행보다는 좀더 의미있고 경제적인 여행을 위해서는 여행지의 문화적 특성을 이해하는 것이 중요하다고 생각한다. 본지에서는 세계 각국의 문화적 특성을 1년간 연재하여, 독자들의 해외여행에 조금이나마 도움이 되고자 한다.

석면(石綿)은 말 그대로 섬유와 같은 돌을 말한다. 자연광물인 석면(Asbestos)은 그리스어의 '불멸의, 끌 수 없는'(A=Not, sbestos=quenchable)이라는 어원에서 알 수 있듯이 열에 대한 저항성이 뛰어나고 유연하다. 기원전 4~5세기경 그리스 아테네의 신전에서는 석면 심지를 사용해 불을 밝혔다고 하고, 로마시대에는 왕이 입는 옷의 재료로도 사용되었을 정도라고 한다.

알렉산드로스대왕의 정복 이후 그리스과학의 중심은 아테네에서 지중해 건너 북아프리카의 알렉산드리아로 옮아 갔다. 알렉산드로스가 죽자 제국은 셋으로 나누어 졌는데, 이집트는 프톨레마이오스 3세가 차지했다. 그는 알렉산드리아에 뤼케이온을 본땄으나 규모가 훨씬 큰 무제이온(Museion)을 세웠다. 무제이온은 도서관, 동물원, 식물원, 천문대, 해부실을 포함한 방대한 교육${\cdot}$연구기관이었다. 여기에는 본토에서 초빙해 온 교수 백여명이 있었다고 한다.
