The Effect of Non-stoichiometry on the Microwave Absobing Properties of Ni-Zn Ferrites. (비화학양론적 조성이 니켈-아연 페라이트의 전파흡수특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The systematic variation of complex permeability and complex permittivity and their relationship with micro-wave absorbing properties are investigated in sintered Ni-Zn ferrites of non-stoichiometric composition. The specirrens of ${(Ni_{0.5}Zn_{0.5}O)}_{1-x}(Fe_{2}O_{3})_{1+x}$ spinels were prepared by a conventional ceramic processing technique. In the present study. complex permeability and permittivity can be controlled by the variation of ${\alpha}-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ contents in the spinel lattice. The primary effect of the excess ${\alpha}-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ is to increase the dielectric constant. while the notable decrease of magnetic loss is observed in the iron-deficient ferrites. The results suggest that the matching fre-queocyand matching thickness could be controlled by the variation of ${\alpha}-Fe_{2}O_{3}$ contents in the Ni-Zn ferrite.

  • Ultrasonic irradiation in a solution during the chemical reaction may accelerate the rate of the reaction and the crystallization at low temperature. We have synthesized nanometer sized zinc ferrite particles using chemical co-precipitation technique through a sonochemical method with surfactant such as oleic acid. The thermal behaviour of the zinc ferrite was determined by the thermoanalytical techniques (TGA-DSC). Powder X-ray diffraction measurements show that the samples have the spinel structure. Magnetic properties measurement were performed using a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer.

  • The present study was carried out to investigate the effects of welding parameters such as current, voltage and shielding gases on the bead shape, microstructures and hardness. It was confirmed that bead height was lowered and bead depth was increased with increasing voltages while height, depth and width of beads increased with welding currents. The hardness of weld metals with Ar+10% $O_2$ and Ar+20% $CO_2$ was low due to the formation of grain boundary and polygonal ferrites while that of weld metals with Ar+2% $O_2$ was high due to the presence of acicular, bainitic and sideplate ferrites.

  • 첨가제로 $Bi2O_3$를 첨가하고, 소결 온도를 변화시켜 고주파 내역에서 전자기적 특성이 안정적으로 유지될 수 있는 Ni-Zn 페라이트를 제조하고자 하였다. $Bi2O_3$의 첨가는 액상을 형성하여 소결을 촉진시키며, 0.3 wt% 첨가된 시편에서는 비정상 입자를 성장시켜 높은 전력 손실 특성을 나타내었다. 그러나 $Bi2O_3$의 적정한 첨가는 소결을 촉진시켜 밀도를 증가시키며, 균일한 입자를 형성하여 전력 손실이 감소하였다. Ni-Zn 페라이트에 $Bi2O_3$의 첨가는 공명 주파수 범위의 제어가 가능하며, 소결 촉진 및 밀도의 증가를 가져와 안정적인 재료를 제조할 수 있었다. 투자율의 일정성이 특정 주파수 10MHz 부근에서 급증하면서 급감하는 것은 공명이 생기고, 이러한 현장은 자벽 공명 또는 자벽의 이동에 의해 나타나는 것으로 보여진다.

  • 전자기기의 발달과 더불어 정보통신분야의 발달로 고주파 대역에서 우수하고 안정적인 Ni-Zn 페라이트를 제조하기 위해, Ni(니켈)의 일부를 코발트(Co)로 치환하여 결정자기이방성 상수 값을 증가시켜, 공명 주파수를 고주파 대역으로 높이고자 하였다. Co 함량이 증가함에 따라 투자율은 감소하는데, 이는 결정자기 이방성 상수를 크게 하여 공명 주파수를 높이는 결과를 보였으며, x=0.05에서 투자율 75, 공명 주파수 20MHz의 특성을 나타내었다.

  • The frequenc dependence of magnetic permeability($\mu$r) and dielectric constant($\varepsilon$r) in MHz-GHz frequency range and their relationships with microwave absorbing properties were investigated in sintered and composite Ni-Zn ferrites, respectively. It was confirmed that zero reflection condition was required the real parts of permeability and permittivity in sintered specimen, and the complex permeability, permittivity and dielectric loss tangent in composite specimen. The real part of permittivity varied with the replacement of nickel by manganese in sintered Ni-Zn ferrite. Therefore, we could control the matching frequency and matching thickness.

  • Fundamental studies for the synthesis of Mn-Zn ferrite powder were investigated using a series of leaching and coprecipitation processes from spent alkaline manganese batteries. Zinc and Manganese dissolution rates obtained at the reaction conditions of 100g/L pulp density, 3.0M $H_2SO_4$, $60^{\circ}C$ and 200 rpm with 30 ml $H_2O_2$ as a reducing agent were more than 97.9% and 93.9% and coprecipitation of Mn-Zn ferrite powder was performed according to various reaction conditions such as temperature, time and amount of $O_2$ gas injection using the leaching solution. As a result of coprecipitation, Mn-Zn ferrite could be synthesized directly at low temperature in the reaction condition pH 12, $80^{\circ}C$, $O_2$ 1.3 L/min. and 400 rpm. The synthesized Mn-Zn ferrite powder was spherical powder of $0.143{\mu}m$ particle size and had a saturation magnetization about 80 emu/g.

Resistance Spot Weldability of Ferritic Stainless Steel and Galvanized Steel (페라이트계 스테인리스강 / 용융아연도금강 이종 저항 점용접부의 특성)

  • A ferritic stainless steel, STS430, and a galvanized steel for case and frame of electronic goods are welded by resistance spot welding and resistance projection welding methods. In this study, resistance spot welding has been performed to investigate the weldability of dissimilar materials such as a ferritic stainless steel and a galvanized steel. Tensile load of the spot weld without heat treatment was 196 kN and brittle fracture occurred at interface between STS430 and nugget due to the high hardness, 380 Hv, in nugget. It was found that the hardness of as-welded nugget increased with higher cooling rate during resistance spot welding by comparing with GTA weld of same materials. Heat treatment by applying second current made nugget softened. Tensile load of heat treated weld increased and reached to 303 kN and fracture occurred at base metal, a galvanized steel.
