Analysis of Electric Field Distribution according to Surface Roughness of Aramid Insulating Paper Using Boundary Element Method (경계요소법을 이용한 표면 거침도에 따른 아라미드 절연지의 전계분포 해석)

  • In this paper, we investigated the electric field distribution according to the roughness in aramid insulating paper for electric machine. Aramid insulating paper has been used to electric insulating of the traction motor and generators for large capacity. We studied the electric field distribution using boundary element method for Aramid insulating paper. As a result of simulation, the electric field increased according to the surface roughness existence. Electric field decreased due to radius of surface roughness reduction, and Electric field concentration appeared at electrode boundary and rough surface.

  • A hybrid composite APAL(Aramid Patched Aluminum alloy) , consisting of Al 2024-T3 aluminum alloy plate sandwiched between two aramid/epoxy laminates, was developed. The characteristics of tensile s trength were investigated and statistical properties of tensile strength were studied in terms of Weibull distribution probability with number of AFRP laminates. The tensile strength of APAL was inproportional to number of AFRP laminates and followed the two-parametic Weibull distribution.

  • 본 연구는 노멕스 직물과 일반 방염직물의 쾌적성에 영향을 주는 중요한 인자를 찾기 위하여 직물의 열적 성질과 역학 성질에 관하여 연구한 것이다. 사용된 직물은 재해를 일으킬 수 있는 환경에서 방호용 의복으로 사용되는 노멕스 직물이 주를 이루며, 비교를 위하여 방염직물과 쾌적성이 좋은 일반직물을 포함시켰다. 직물의 물리적 성질과 열 특성을 측정하였으며, 역학 성질을 측정하여 노멕스 직물과 다른 직물을 서로 비교 분석하였다. 노멕스 직물은 파이버 자체가 뻣뻣하기 때문에 쾌적성을 향상시키기 위해서는 소프트감을 높이는 것이 중요한 요소라는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 같은 노멕스 직물이라도 쾌적성 면에서 서로 차이를 보여주므로 직물의 구조적 성질이 직물을 구성하고 있는 파이버 성질보다 쾌적성에 더 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • Friction and wear characteristics of novolac resin-based friction materials reinforced with aramid pulp and potassium titanate were investigated by using a pad-on-disk type friction tester. Friction properties such as friction stability, surface morphology, and wear rate varied according to the relative amount of aramid pulp and potassium titanate. The friction materials reinforced with both aramid pulp and potassium titanate showed superior friction stability and wear resistance due to the formation of durable transfer layer.

  • FRMLs consist of thin sheets of high strength metal, which are laminated using a structural adhesive and high strength fibers. ARALL(Aramid-fiber Reinforced Aluminum alloy Laminates) of FRMLs is a new class of hybrid material. HERALL(Heracron Reinforced Aluminum Laminate) i.e. domestic ARALL is made of homemade aramid fibers, adhesives and adhesive technique. Domestic aramid fiber is Heracron manufactured by KOLON and domestic adhesive is epoxy resin manufactured by Han Kuk Fiber. In this study, Fatigue crack propagation behavior was examined in a 2024-T3 aluminum alloy/aramid-fiber epoxy 3/2 laminated composites, HERALL and ARAL $L^{ⓡ}$-2 LAMINATE comparing with 2024-T3 aluminum alloy. The extrinsic toughening mechanisms in HERALL and ARALL were examined, the crack bridging behavior of fibers was analyzed by new algorithm, which measures crack bridging stress, and the crack bridging zone length was measured.

  • 고성능 섬유강화 복합재료는 단위 중량당 강성과 강도가 높으면서 가격도 저렴하여 여러 산업분야에서 널리 사용되고 있으며 특히, 경량임에도 충격에 대한 저항성이 우수하여 방탄재료로의 군사적, 민간용 이용도가 날로 증가되고 있다. 그러나 고속 충격 탄자와 같이 관통성이 뛰어난 위협 조건으로부터의 방호를 목적으로 장갑을 설계할 매는 단일 재료만으로는 충분한 방탄 성능을 가질 수 없는 경우가 많다. 이런 경우는 충격 전면에서 충격 탄자의 탄두를 일차적으로 무디게 하거나 파쇄시켜 탄자의 형상을 변화시키고, 변형된 탄자의 계속적인 관통에 대한 저항능력이 우수한 재료를 사용하여 두가지 성질을 동시에 만족시키는 장갑재료의 개발이 요구되고 꾸준히 연구되어 왔다.(중략)

Friction and Wear Characteristics of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Composites (혼성섬유 보강복합재의 마찰 및 마모특성)

  • 페놀수지 결합재에 PAN섬유(PF), PAN계 탄소섬유(CF) 그리고 아라미드 섬유(AF)를 보강재로 사용하여 단일섬유 보강복합재를 제조하였으며 이들 섬유를 각각 두 종류씩 혼성하여 혼성섬유 보강복합재를 제조하였다. 각 보강복합재를 섬유의 보강분율에 따른 마찰 및 마모특성을 시험하였다. CF 보강복합재(CFRP)가 마찰계수와 마모량이 가장 낮게 나타났으며, PF 보강복합재(PFRP)는 가장 높은 마찰계수와 마모량을 나타내었다. PF에 CF나 AF를 보강한 혼성복합재의 경우 마찰계수가 0.311~0.328로 혼성비에 따라서는 큰 차이를 보이지 않은 반면, PF의 보강분율이 증가할수록 마모량은 증가하였다. CF와 AF를 보강한 혼성복합재의 마찰계수는 0.264~0.309로 가장 낮게 나타났고, AF의 보강분율이 증가함에 따라 마찰계수는 증가하는 양상을 나타내었으며, 가장 적은 마모량과 함께 안정된 마모형태를 보였다.

Study of Dyeing Properties by Swelling Agent on meta-aramid Fiber with Cationic Dyes (Swelling agent에 따른 메타계 아라미드 섬유의 Cationic dye 염색특성)

  • Dyeing and fastness characteristics of 100% meta-aramid fiber were investigated with cationic dyes and swelling agents under various dyeing conditions such as dyeing temperature and pH of dye bath. Dye exhaustion started at around $80^{\circ}C$ and settled down at $130^{\circ}C$. Among swelling agents used, N-methyl formanilide showed comparatively higher K/S values comparing to 1-phenoxypropan-2-ol. Under weak acidic conditions in the range pH 5 to 7, the exhaustion of cationic dyes could be enhanced leading to higher adsorption and stability of colorimetric property. Wash and rubbing fastness were generally good but low light fastness found can be attributable to the poor photo-stability of the cationic dyes.

Dyeing of meta-Aramid Fabric with Temporarily Solubilized Reactive Disperse Dyes (일시적 수용성 반응성 분산염료를 이용한 메타 아라미드 섬유의 염색성 연구)

  • Temporarily solubilized reactive disperse dyes containing ${\beta}$-sulfatoethylsulfonyl group were applied to 100% meta-aramid knitted fabric and their dyeing properties were investigated. Reactive disperse dyes showed relatively high K/S values on meta-aramid fabric when compared with conventional disperse dye or reactive dye, which showed very low K/S values. Color yields of reactive disperse dyes were highly dependent on dyeing pH and optimum results were obtained at pH 6. Percent exhaustion of reactive disperse dye on meta-aramid fabric was over 80% at 2% o.w.f of dye concentration. Wash fastness of pyridone-based reactive disperse dyes was very good to excellent while that of aminoazobenzene reactive disperse dyes was medium to good. Light fastness of all the reactive disperse dyes was very poor which seems to be due to the low photostability of meta-aramid fiber itself.

Effect of Surface Modification Process Conditions on Properties of Aramid Paper (아라미드 종이의 특성에 대한 표면 개질 과정 조건의 영향)

  • Surface modification of meta-aramid fibers was performed by phosphoric acid treatment. Surface morphology and element composition of untreated and treated fibers were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Effects of surface modification on the mechanical strength of aramid papers made from meta-aramid fibers and fibrid were investigated. Surface modification conditions were optimized by response surface analysis (RSA). Results show that phosphoric acid treatment increases the surface roughness and oxygen content of aramid fibers. They improve the interface bonding strength between aramid fibers and fibrid, which improves the tensile strength of aramid papers. The results of response surface analysis indicate that the tensile strength of aramid papers increases by 47.5% and reaches the maximum when meta-aramid fibers are treated with 21.1wt% phosphoric acid solution at $39.3^{\circ}C$ for 36.7 min.
