Objectives: This study examined the current status of depression and related factors among children using community child center. Methods: A cross-sectional study selected children in grades 4-6 who used the Gwangju and Jeollanamdo community child center (n=224) using a convenience sampling method. General characteristics, family characteristics, children's emotional characteristics, children's school life environment and depression status were assessed using a self-reported questionnaire. Results: The average score of depression among children using community child center was 15.31±7.70 out of a total of 27. Fifty-eight (25.9%) children had depression above 22 points. Variables related to children's depression were shown as grade, subjective economic level awareness, after-school activities excluding local children's centers, presence of family members after school, and family structure. Conclusions: The depression prevalence of children using community child center was higher. Policy support such as children's psychological support programs would be needed to reduce children's depression, and community child centers are expected to be effective in reducing children's depression if continuous child psychological support services are developed for children's mental health.

Correlation analysis, T-test, One-way ANOVA were used for the statistical analysis and the statistically significant level is p<0.05. Results:1) CDI mean for total children is $13.5{\pm}6.77$, BDI mean for their mother is $13.3{\pm}7.25$, and BDI mean for their father is $11.6{\pm}7.03$. 2) There are significant differences in CDI for children variables related to sex, health, school achievement, economic status. 3) Mother's health slightly affect children's depression, but there are no significant differences in CDI for parents' education, religion, father's health. 4) Children's school achievement and economic status among variables related to children affect mother's BDI scores and children's school achievement affect father's BDI scores. 5) For CDI item analysis, there are significant differences in 10 items for children's sex, in 8 items for health, and in 6 items for economic status. Especially, there are significant differences in 20 items among 27 items for children's school achievement. 6) There is significant correlation between parents' BDI scores and children's CDI scores, and especially high correlation to mother for both boys and girls. Conclusion:Children's depression are significantly affected by children's sex, health, school achievement, economic status. And especially school achievement affect grossly children's depression and their mother's depression, so we know that children and their mother have much burden about school achievement. There is high correlation between children's depression and parents'(especially mother) depression. Therefore, these result imply that in the therapy for children's depression, we must include not only children's problems but also parents' depression and parent-children relationship.

Summary:This study was designed to examine the effect of mother's depressive mood and parenting related attitude on parenting behavior, focusing on the cases having an ADHD child. Method:A total of 82 parents, 31 parents having children with ADHD and 51 normal, were involved in this study. The children of ADHD and normal group were 6-11 years old. ADHD group were diagnosed as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder by psychiatric doctor and psychological evaluations using DSMIV criteria and the normal group were excluded by using Diagnostic Rating Scale-Parent, Teacher Form. The mothers of both group completed a series of questionnaire about mother's depressive mood and parenting-related attitude. To investigate the relationships between each variables, Student's t-test, correlation, stepwise regression, and hierarchical regression analysis were performed. Result:In correlation analysis, Mothers with an ADHD child were likely to report more coercive parenting behavior, more negative parenting-related attitudes, and depressive mood than normal group. In regression analysis, mother's parenting stress, dysfunctional thoughts, parenting competence, and depressive mood predicted coercive parenting behavior significantly, total explaining 50% of its variance, and especially depressive mood explained 29% of their coercive parenting behavior. These Results indicated that mother's depressive mood accounted for a substantial portion of coercive parenting behavior. Conclusion:These findings suggested that it is significantly important to reduce Mother's depressive mood through dealing with parenting sense of competence and dysfunctional thoughts, so, both parent education program and cognitive-behavioral therapeutic approach are needed to change parent's coercive parenting behavior. Finally, limitation of the present study and suggestions were discussed for further studies.

This study sought to clarify the relation of children's suicidal ideation and parental depression/life satisfaction, and the mediating effect of the self-esteem in child. With regard to suicidal ideation in children, most studies have used children's depression as predictor, not parental depression. Similarly, parental life satisfaction have not been included in spite of its general influence on child development. Relations among these variables were examined in 512 children and their parents in $7^{th}$ Korean welfare panel data using the structural equation model. Results showed that the maternal life satisfaction was the only significant factor affecting the suicidal ideation of children, no having the mediating effects of the self-esteem in child. The implication of these results and suggestions for intervention and prevention work, and future research are discussed.

This research study examined the relationships among perceived social support, self-esteem, and depression. The study examined whether self-esteem mediates the relationship between social support and depression. This research study used a convenience sampling method, and the sample of this study was drawn from 7 child welfare facilities in Gyeonggi-Do. A total 240 surveys were completed. The research study shows that there were strong, significant relationship between most of the variables. There was a positive relationship between social support and self-esteem. The experimental group participated in the program for 8 sessions for 8 weeks. Data were analyzed using ${\chi}^2$-test, independent t-test, repeated measures ANCOVA with SPSS 21.0 program. There were significant differences in depression (F=6.68, p=.013) and self-esteem (F=7.61, p=.009) of participants between experimental group and control group after completion of 8-session magic program. The This is a study on the level of depression and parental efficacy of the mothers who have children with disabilities. Thus, it compared the level of depression of the mothers of children with intellectual disabilities and the mothers of children with cerebral palsy. Both groups displayed mild depressive state; however, there was not a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Although there was not a significant difference between the two groups for parent efficacy, the factors of the number of family members and whether to participate in self-help meetings displayed a significant difference in the relationship of parent efficacy in accordance with the demographic characteristics. Of the mothers of children with intellectual disabilities, those mothers who were participating in the self-help meetings were found to have a higher parent efficacy than the mothers who were not participating in the self-help meetings. However, of the mothers of children with cerebral palsy, those mothers who were not participating in the self-help meetings were found to have a higher parent efficacy. As for the correlation between level of depression and parent efficacy, it was found that the higher the parent efficacy was, the lower the level of depression was. The interest was found to be higher with higher parent efficacy when sub-dividing and comparing frustration and interest that were the sub-domains of parent efficacy.
