Pretibial cyst formation is a rare complication after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and there are only few cases reported. Pretibial cyst can be caused by variable reasons. Foreign body reaction due to breakdown of bio-absorbable screw for fixation, graft necrosis at tibial site, joint fluid leakage to tunnel and incomplete incorporation of graft to bony tunnel. The authors experienced one case of massive pretibial cyst after arthroscopic ACL reconstruction using bio-absorbable interference screw in 38-year-old male patient. Thus, authors report this rare case with literature view.

In this paper, we propose a fast block-matching motion estimation method using the cross pattern and the hexagonal pattern. For the block-matching motion estimation method, full search finds the best motion estimation, but it requires huge search time because it has to check every search point within the search window. The proposed method makes use of the fact that most of motion vectors lie near the center of block. The proposed method first uses the cross pattern to search near the center of block, and then uses the hexagonal pattern to search larger motion vectors. Experimental results show that our method is better than recently proposed search algorithms in terms of mean-square error performance and required search time.

Reports of localized giant cell tumor arising from the posterior cruciate ligament are rare, and its recurrence rate after incomplete excision. We experienced a case of localized giant cell tumor arising from the posterior cruciate ligament that were excised arthroscopically with transseptal approach and pathologically confirmed. The patient showed good clinical result for one year after operation. So we report a case with a review of the literatures.

An inappropriate insertion of a interference device to fix the graft in the tibial tuunel can cause potential complications. We describe a case of 27-year-old man who underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using IntraFix device(DePuy Mitek, Raynham, MA). In this report we present a case of migration of IntraFix sheath by inappropriate insertion of IntraFix screw along with a review of the current literature.

Pretibial ganglion cyst after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction is a very rare complication, and a few are reported in and outside the country. Some authors report that it may break out with a variety of causes at any time. We experienced a case of pretibial ganglion cyst after arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction using Achilles tendon allograft and bioabsorbable interference screw in 34-year-old male. So we report this case including the cause and the treatment with a review of the literature.

The prevalence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is continuously increased due to sports activities and traffic accident. Simultaneously ACL reconstruction operations are on the increase. Several kinds of autografts and allografts are used in ACL reconstruction. Although ACL reconstruction using an autogenous bone-patellar tendon-bone graft is the good standard, it might have potential morbidity, anterior knee pain and minimal extension loss. To minimize the complications and disadvantages on each graft and to select appropriate graft for each patient, it is necessary to understand the unique characteristics of each graft for biomechanical aspect, morbidity and disadvantage. Selecting the appropriate graft depends on numerous factors including surgeon's preference and experience, patient's activity level and age, extent of ligament injury, tissue availability, and patient's selection for graft .

This article provides an overview of the current concepts regarding anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, including anatomy, biomechanics, operative techniques and clinical results. Many techniques have been introduced for ACL reconstruction: single bundle reconstruction, remnant preserving augmentation, and double bundle reconstruction. Each technique has its strong and weak points, and it is not sure which technique is superior than others. It is considered to suggest that rather than to select the same method of surgery in all patients, select the method of reconstruction depending on the characteristics of the individual patient, the state of the residual ligaments and extent of the damage.

Insertional bone cysts of the knee joint mainly appear in the form of small cysts at the bone attachment of the cruciate ligaments, and are usually not associated with symptoms. The authors report a 31-year-old man diagnosed with a huge insertional bone cyst connected to the femoral attachment of the posterior cruciate ligament in the knee joint, who obtained good results after curettage and bone cement filling.

Calcium deposition disease, including calcific tendinitis, rarely affects the knee joint. Only a few cases can be found in the literatures and there is no case report of symptomatic calcific deposition arising from the posterior cruciate ligament in Korea. The authors encountered a case of symptomatic calcific deposition arising from the posterior cruciate ligament, which was excised arthroscopically and confirmed pathologically. This paper reports this case with a review of the relevant literature.

Simultaneous acute rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and the patellar tendon is a very unusual injury. That is difficult to diagnose in initial evaluation of knee injury, because the patellar tendon rupture is often missed. We report a 26 year-old male patient who was treated with ACL reconstruction using achilles allograft and direct patellar tendon repair with achilles allograft augmentation. The patient had the stable knee and full range of motion. It's clinical results were excellent(Lysholm score 93, Tegner activity score 6).
