  • Currently many people are awfully concerned about smart device in domestic and foreign mobile market. The need of smart device has been rapidly increased. Unlike a feature phone smart devices provide us with an intuitive interface which is easy to control. They are enable to smoothly interact between user and device. Though higher market outlook, there is a lack of empirical research on user interface in touch screen based on smart device. In this paper, we propose the touch interface conceptual model concentrating on user based on the result of previous research. Materials of this research are three kinds of smart devices which are currently released. Through expert's depth interview and observation of user, user's cognitive actions in smart device are defined. Since the method of the touch interface which is suitable for the action has been derived, we have proposed the conceptual model of user's cognitive action. This research imply to offer the excellent design guideline in order to implement touch interface to optimize user experience in touch screen based on smart device to release in the future.

  • Paradoxically, leadership has not only positive effects but also negative effects. The purpose of this study is to examine supervisors' dysfunctional leadership behaviors, antecedents and results in order to draw HRD implications for protecting organizations and employees from dysfunctional leaders and provide implications for leadership development. A qualitative research method based on semi-organized interviews with 28 employees from S-group was used. The results of this study show that the dysfunctional leadership behaviors were associated with ten behavioral categories: belittling and insulting the subordinates, authoritative and arbitrary behaviors, self-aggrandizement, biased preference for certain personnel, arrogance, micro-managing, inability to change and adapt, discordance between words and actions, over-dependance on supervisor, lack of ethics and values. Dysfunctional leadership behaviors were casually attributed to 'personal traits & experience', 'task characteristics', and 'internal & external environments of the organization'. Finally, the results of supervisor's dysfunctional leadership behaviors on employees and the organizational effects were 'increased turnover rate', 'declining work efficiency', 'collapsing morale', 'retraining innovative thinking', 'passive working culture', 'discouraging organizational vitality', 'discouraging organizational synergy', 'losing loyalty' and 'declining trust on supervisor'.

  • The elderly suicide has become a social problem, and the need for academic and practice-based knowledge for preventing elderly suicide has been addressed. Unlike previous literature focusing on identifying risk factors, this study aimed to address protective ones which help to overcome suicidal behavior among older adults. The purpose of this qualitative study was to understand how older adults get over being suicidal and get back to life, and to identify what helps them during the process. Both in-depth interviews with 35 elderly with suicide attempts and field notes were analyzed through thematic analysis. The older adults described a pathway to rediscovering a 'will to live' that was related to a 'mind's incline' and included two kinds of protective factors. Based on the findings, it addresses the implication for the elderly suicide prevention utilizing protective factors.

  • The automatic monitoring and detection of crowd behavior in the surveillance videos has obtained significant attention in the field of computer vision due to its vast applications such as security, safety and protection of assets etc. Also, the field of crowd analysis is growing upwards in the research community. For this purpose, it is very necessary to detect and analyze the crowd behavior. In this paper, we proposed a deep learning-based method which detects abnormal activities in surveillance cameras installed in a smart city. A fine-tuned VGG-16 model is trained on publicly available benchmark crowd dataset and is tested on real-time streaming. The CCTV camera captures the video stream, when abnormal activity is detected, an alert is generated and is sent to the nearest police station to take immediate action before further loss. We experimentally have proven that the proposed method outperforms over the existing state-of-the-art techniques.
