  • The inflow of digital systems into the dental field has had a great impact on dentists and dental technicians. and it brought improved accuracy, convenience, and work efficiency than before. However, digital doesn't solve everything, and it certainly has limitations. Therefore, it is recommended that clinicians clearly understand the strengths and weaknesses of the traditional method and the digital method and design their own workflow that harmonizes the two methods. In this part, I introduce how I use and apply 3D printers in clinical field.

  • This study was performed to compare the bonding mechanism of glass ionomers. In this study, hybrid glass ionomers were used for restoration(Fuji II LC, GC, Japan) as the material of choice. Two different etching solutions were used in this study, 35% phosphoric acid and 10% polyacrylic acid. The effect of two different conditioners to dentin surface of a primary molar was studied and compared by using scanning electron microscope. Further, the interface of the dentin surface and the hybrid glass ionomers were examined.

  • Alveolar ridge augmentation and preservation techniques designed to reconstruct deformed alveolar ridge now occupy a major role in esthetic dentistry. Previously, deformed alveolar ridges were filled with plastic materials(porcelain or resin) of prosthesis to restore ridge contours, which resulted in larger teeth and food impaction under the pontic base. So, prostheses of this type were unacceptable and really detectable when patients smiled. But nowadays, alveolar ridge augmentation procedures enable the dentists to provide patients with fixed prostheses that are esthetic. The development of guided tissue regeneration technique and materials also have made a major impact on extending the scope of therapeutic horizons in dentistry.

  • Recently, esthetic dentistry has been developed because beauty is pursued by both dentists and patients. A scope of esthetic treatment has been expanded and the roles of hygienists in dental treatment have also become of importance. Generally, we make use of the ultra-sonic scaler to remove the stains attached to teeth surfaces, but when we utilize the rubber cup and pumice in prophylaxis, this increases the hypersensitivity, patient's anxiety, and chairtime. So, we substitute Air-polishing that increases patient's satisfaction and decreases chairtime for above method, Here, I would like to explain indications and contraindications, advantages and disadvantages, and usages of Air-polilshing briefly.

  • The All-Bond system is a unique development in the field of adhesive dentistry. It is a universal bonding system that will bond composite to all dental-related surfaces: dentin, enamel, metal alloy (precious and nonprecious), amalgam, porcelain, and composite. It is also the only system that allows use of both the conservative and all-etch techniques. The main purpose of this paper is to explain the features of the All-Bond system. Its chemistry and a working hypothesis are shown as well.

  • The preservation of a healthy periodontal attachment is the most significant factor in the long-term prognosis of a restored tooth. The 'Biologic Width' is composed of the connective tissue attachment and the epithelial attachment in the dentogingival junction. The violation of the biologic width may result in a progressive inflammatory process and crestal bone loss. So a careful soft tissue management is needed to preserve it for the gingival health and an esthetic restoration. The following clinical cases show the five different situations of the violation of the biologic width and their management.

  • Composite resin have very important roles as a esthetic fillng material. Today we are confusing by a numerous number of the polymer options in the market. Are there any complications such as tooth sensitivity? Do they have stabilization in the long term aspect? These are the reasons why many dentists don't use composite resin in my country. But the problems can be overcome by choosing the best suited materials and meticulous clinical procedures. So that we are able to expand our clinical boundary. I would like to introduce the clinical techniques of Dr.Gordon Christensen in Utah, and overall clinical cases under the base of CRA newsletter.
