The pneumopericardium following blunt chest trauma is exceedingly unusual. A patient was admitted to the emergency room after a motorcycle accident. Pneumopericardium and left pneumothorax were not detected on initial chest AP, but they were detected on chest computed tomograpy and resolved completely after chest tube insertion into the left pleural space.

Neonatal tension pneumopericardium is a serious disease that requires prompt diagnosis and treatment. If untreated, it may lead to cardiac tamponade and death. We report a case of neonatal tension pneumopericardium which was successfully treated by open pericardial window operation with review of literatures.

A diabetic 73-year-old man had admitted and examined gastrofiberoscopy due to dyspagia and weight loss of 6 kg during two months. He was confirmed diagnosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. During the esophgography, we found the dye spillage into pericardia! space from the esophagus with air collection A following chest roentgenogram revealed a typical pneumopericardium with pericardial air filling. Although intensive care was done. he expired 4 days later. We report a case of typical pnemopericardium caused secondary to esophageal cancer.

A 49-year-old man visited our hospital via the emergency room. He had suffered chest trauma by falling down. His chest X-Ray showed pneumomediastinum with pneumopericardium. We checked the Chest CT, and it showed pneumopericardium without any injury to the other organs, the compressed heart and a minimal pneumothorax on the left hemithorax. Closed thoracostomy was then done under local anesthesia. We then performed open pericardiostomy under general anesthesia. We got a good result and so we report on this case.
