The present paper tried to review psychological perspectives on adolescent in Korean culture. We suggested the starting point for study of adolescent should be on the definition of adolescent, i.e., what is adolescent. In oder to do it, we reviewed the perspective of the old generation, especially negative one, and myth and psychologism of developmental psychology on adolescent. Accordingly, we'd like to suggest an alternative approach on adolescent in psychology. That is called activity-environmental focused approach for studying adolescent. We also argued the value of adolescent in modern society and suggested how to view and approach the adolescent in psychology.

The current study is the first attempt to review the [Korean Journal of Psychology: Culture and Social Issues] systematically. For the past 22 years from 1994 to 2015, 464 articles have been published in the Journal. We analyzed the 337 empirical research articles, with respect to their objectives, predictor and outcome variables, and their methodologies. Most of the studies dealt with variables at individual level; some dealt with variables of the community and socio-cutural environment level. Many of the studies included general population, not necessarily social minorities. The results were compared with the literature on the social issues that Koreans perceive as social issues. Also it is noteworthy that many studies failed to specify such demographic characteristics as age, gender, and locality of their participants in the articles. Based on the analysis results, we discussed the roles of psychology and of the Journal in the contemporary Korean context.

Rapid social changes due to digitization have created new psychological challenges of adapting and coping. Plays are in the center of these changes. Plays used to be collateral activities of labor in the traditional society and industrial society, but they have become key activities embracing economy, society, culture in a digital society that has been maximized productivity and efficiency. Still, the theoretical approach of plays is based on the industrial societies. Analyzing these points, the psychological impacts of players using multimedia, social networking, and digital games utilizing both of them was dealt in this article. I dealt with multimedia, social networking, and digital games as key characteristic of digital culture. The difference between traditional psychology and Digital Cultural Psychology was dealt in the perspective of self-concept, information processing, and sex role. Then the conclusion on the future directions of Digital Cultural Psychology and its limitations will be followed.

This study was performed to decide how to do research and resolve on mental health problems of the people after reunification, which is recognized as ultimately important issue. At first we analyzed the case of Germany. To do so, we reviewed the existing research, which included various issues such as reunification for the Germans, chronological research flow analysis, the issues of mental health, research methods for mental health problems, therapy for mental health problems and so on. And then we sought the ways to connect research for the North Korean defectors and unification era, and suggested the several research orientation and methods for mental health study of the unification period.

This paper provides a comparative analysis of the probabilistic versus deterministic view of accident and safety using the indigenous and cultural perspectives. Death and injury due to accidents is the leading cause of preventable death in most countries, including Korea. The first part of this paper delineates the limitation of the linear, deterministic model that has been adopted in social and applied sciences. The transactional model, advocated by indigenous psychology, is provided to understand the probabilistic nature of accident and safety at home, in the workplace and in society. Second, factors related to accidents and safety are reviewed. Third, application of the probabilistic model for preventing accidents and promoting safety in Korea is outlined.

컴퓨터를 이용한 한글 인식 분야의 연구들은 연구결과에 대한 유용성이나 기대에 비해 만족할 만한 결과를 보이지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이는 컴퓨터에서 한글 인식 모형을 구축하는데 있어서 도구의 역할을 하는 컴퓨터의 계산적 특성만을 고려한데서 그 원인들 중하나를 찾을 수 있다. 따라서 한글 인식 모형을 한글 자체의 구조여 특성 뿐 아니라, 실제 인간이 한글을 인식하는데 있어서 이용하는 기제들을 고려하여 제안되어야 할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 한글 문자의 특성을 고찰하고, 지금까지 지각심리학에서 행하여져온 인간의 한글 지각에 대한 연구 결과들 중 컴퓨터에서의 한글 인식 모형에 도움이 되는 사항들들 살펴 본 후, 한글 인식 모형 구축에 필요한 지각심리학의 매개변수들을 제시하려 한다. 이와 같은 고찰은 컴퓨터과학과 지각심리학이 한글 인식 분야에서 상보적인 입장을 취할 수 있도록 돕는 역할을 할 수 있으리라 기대된다.

지금까지 간략히 살펴본 것처럼 심리학에서 연역추리를 연구하는 이론과 가정이 변화하고 있는데, 크게 네 가지 흐름으로 요약할 수 있다[2,6,7]. 가장 큰 변화는 연역 추리와 귀납 추리의 구분이 점차로 흐려지고 있다는 것이다. 두 번째 변화는 연역 추리를 이해하는 관점이 달라지고 있다는 점이다. 심리학에서 연역추리를 본격적으로 다루기 시작한 1960년대에는 사람들이 논리적인 사고를 하느냐에 관심이 모아졌다. 그러다 1980년대와 1990년대에는 연역추리를 하는 기제에 관한 심성 논리 이론과 심성 모형 이론 간의 논쟁이 치열하게 전개되면서 내용효과와 같은 실용적 요인들에 대한 연구도 많이 수행되었다. 그리고 1990년대 들어서면서 연역추리를 정보 획득의 관점에서 접근하는 확률적 접근, 연역 추리 과정을 heuristic 처리 단계와 분석적 처리 단계로 나누어 접근하는 이중 과정 이론이 등장하면서 기본적인 이론틀의 변화도 일어나고 있다. 세 번째 변화는 연역 추리를 문제 해결이나 의사결정과 같은 다른 인지 처리와 연결하려는 시도들이 진행되고 있다는 점이다. 마지막으로 심리학의 다른 분야에서와 마찬가지로 연역 추리에 관여하는 뇌 부위를 알아보는 뇌 영상 연구들이 점차 증가하고 있다. 이런 연구들의 결과로 연역 추리 과정에 대한 다차원적인 이해가 증진되고 다른 인지과정과도 연동되는 종합적 이해가 가능해질 것으로 예상한다.

같은 상황이라도 사람에 따라 느끼는 감정은 다르다. 따라서 감정을 일반화하여 현재의 감정 상태를 정량적으로 표현하는데 는 한계가 있다. 본 논문은 현재의 감정 상태를 나타내기 위해, 인간의 감정을 모델링한 심리학의 감정 모델을 공학적으로 접근하여 심리학기반 공학적 인공감정을 제안한다. 제안된 인공감정은 심리학을 기반으로 감정발생의 인과관계, 성격에 따른 감정의 차이, 시간에 따른 감정의 차이, 연속된 감정자극에 따른 감정의 차이, 감정간의 상호관계에 따른 감정의 차이를 반영하여 구성했다. 현재의 감정 상태를 위치로 나타내기 위해서 감정장을 제안했고, 감정장 상의 위치와 위치에 따른 색깔로 현재의 감정 상태를 표현했다. 감정상태의 변화를 제안된 인공감정을 통해 시각화해보기 위해 셰익스피어의 '햄릿'에서 극중 등장인물인 햄릿의 감정변화를 제안된 인공감정을 통해 시각화 해 보였다.

The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of positive psychology-based literacy therapy program on elementary school students' happiness by constructing a literature therapy program based on positive psychology. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the program, the experiment group and the control group were subjected to the pre - test. The same test as that carried out in the test was conducted. The pre - and post - scores of experimental group and control group were compared and analyzed by independent sample t-test. The results of this study were as follows. First, literature therapy programs based on positive psychology were found to be effective in improving elementary school students' happiness (t = 10.175, p <.001). Second, the effects of positive psychology - based literacy therapy programs on self - esteem, optimism, friendship, and family environment were found to affect all four factors (t = 5.720, p <.001). Therefore, the children tend to equate themselves with the person in the book, so that the short and concise sentence of the poem can convey emotion and emotion to the child.

Academic research of the elderly psychology flourishes in an aging society. The basic concern of both psycho-gerontology dealing with psychological processes of aging and geronto-psychology dealing with psychology of the elderly is with the maintenance of high quality of life and well-being. Given this context, the present study examined research trends of 91 depression and suicide studies and 31 aging and successful aging studies, and compared the trends with those identified in studies published within the first 30 years. It was found that a majority of studies are concerned with the direct or mediating effects of depression on suicide and everyday life, risk factors influencing depression, perceptions of aging and factors influencing those perceptions, and successful aging and factors influencing successful aging. Further, the number of studies of these topics is greater than that of studies published within the first 30 years. The findings were discussed in the context of heightening the quality of life of the older adults.
