It was not until the early twentieth century that statistics emerged as an independent academic discipline. The developments of statistical theory and methods would not have been possible without heated controversies among founding fathers. One of them, controversy on the statistical test between R. A. Fisher and J. Neyman, E. S. Pearson had been very fierce and long-lasting. On the other hand it was in the early twentieth century that psychologists began to utilize statistical test which was a hybrid of tests developed by Fisher and Neyman-Pearson. By considering the history of fields such as psychology, we can see distinctive characteristics specific to the history of statistics.

The purpose of the present manuscript is to introduce positive clinical psychology. We reviewed the two main areas of positive clinical psychology: mental fitness and positive psychotherapy. The historical background of the concept of mental fitness as well as the relationship between mental fitness and mental health literacy was examined. In addition, positive psychotherapy and conventional psychotherapies were compared and contrasted in order to enhance the understanding of positive psychotherapy. Lastly we introduced the Korea University Mental Fitness Positive Psychotherapy Program. Based on this review, the limitations and future prospects of positive clinical psychology were discussed.

통계학이란 미래에 대한 예측을 하고 이에 대비하여 합리적인 의사결정을 내리는데 도움을 받을 수 있는 학문이다. 최근 다변량 통계분석은 관찰이나 실험의 대상이 되는 하나 이상의 변수들을 동시에 분석할 수 있는 매우 실제성이 높은 분석방법으로 통계학, 경영학, 사회학, 심리학, 생물학 등 여러 전공 분야에서 복잡하고 다양한 자료 분석에 폭넓게 활용되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 다변량 분석 방법 중 컴퓨터와 통계 분석 소프트웨어의 발전으로 인하여 최근에 활발히 연구되고 있는 군집방법의 역사와 여러 연구분야의 실제자료분석에 응용할 수 있도록 군집분석을 6가지로 나누어서 분류하였고 그 방법론을 제시하였다.

This paper examines the life and achievements of Lillian E. Gilbreth(l878-1972) called 'the first lady of American engineering' as an attempt to excavate women engineers in history. Lillian changed her majors from English literature to psychology of management through her marriage, and tried to integrate psychology of management and scientific management by coworking with her husband. After that, Lillian contributed to extend scientific management to the domain of domestic labor, institutionalize industrial engineering in American universities and enhance the status of woman in engineering societies by her own independent research and education. The success factors of Lillian Gilbreth as a woman engineer includes the development of professional career by conquest of various social discrimination, the positive understanding and assistance by neighborhood males, the selection of an emerging field like industrial engineering, and so on. This study can provide not only a case of role model for women engineers but also practical reference materials for gender-sensitive engineering education.

The purpose of the present study was to review psychological studies which have appeared in the "Journal of the Korean Gerontological Society". All told, 130 psychological papers have published for the last 30 years. Nineteen studies appeared in the 1980's, among which were 14 empirical ones and the remainders were review papers. In the 1990's were 51 papers published, and 49 ones were empirical and the rest of 2 literature review ones. In the 2000's did 56 papers appear, among which 56 ones were empirical and the rest of 4 literature review or theoretical ones. Research topics mainly examined about the aged were about mental health, life satisfaction and leasure, parent care and family relations, developmental change in cognition, and the old age general. After review of research trends for the last three decades, findings on each of research topics were examined. Finally, some limitations on the previous studies and future research directions were mentioned.

This study is to understand intuition that is the tool of invention and the one factor of the creative thinking in mathematical education. For this, I examine the nature of intuition and the history of research about intuition. And I study the result of research about intuition in cognitive psychological perspectives. This study brings to a focus in informational processing model. Informational processing model is similar to the mathematical problem solving process that is expressed linear process. Recently, parallel distributed processing models try to understand the nature of intuition. But any models cannot adequately explain the nature and the phenomena of illumination of intuition. Some scholars try to examine the intuition in mathematical education. But systematic and practical research is rare. So, I suggest the mathematical educational implications about intuition. Conclusively, it is necessary to systematic concern in intuition and the methods of improvement of intuition in mathematical education.

The importance of the convergence education is getting more and more emphasized. But the university convergence education has not yet met today's needs. So this study is focused on showing effective practice methods and finding development directions of the university convergence criticism education. One of a significant trend of the contemporary academic education of liberal arts is the tendency of the convergent and integrative studies. What is essential in the convergent and integrative studies creativity. The zeitgeist of knowledge-based society is change and innovation. In response to its request, college education is being asked to do convergence education, And general education as the basis of convergence education is strengthened.

본 논문은 가상현실과 증강현실에서 다양한 정보와 촉감을 통한 인지심리학 적인 측면의 햅틱이 사용된 영상에 관하여 알아보고자 한다. 미래를 그리는 공상과학영화에서 햅틱의 사용은 근간에 많이 이루어지고 있는 것 같지만 영상에서 표현되는 부분은 극히 드문 실정이다. 이에 헵틱의 기술의 발전과 영상에서 표현되고 있는 햅틱의 기술에 대해 알아보고, 현재 어떤 제품들이 사용되고 있는지 살펴보고자 한다. 본 논문은 먼저 연구동향을 통해 햅틱의 역사와 기술에 대하여 알아보고, 이를 통해 햅틱 기술의 전망을 조사하였다. 영상에서의 햅틱 구현은 어떤 모습을 통해 구현이 되었는지 조사하였으며, 이를 통해 현재 상용화 되고 있는 기술에 대하여 알아보았다. 또한 이를 통해 가상의 세계를 표현한 영상에서 햅틱의 기술이 어디까지 구현이 되고 있으며, 햅틱의 현재기술은 어디까지 전개되고 있는지에 대한 경향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이러한 연구를 바탕으로 햅틱 기술이 사용될 수 있는 부분은 어디까지 인지 예측하여 보았다.

The influences of sciences on literature have been much researched as relatively familiar themes, and especially the impact of Darwin's evolutionary theory has been interesting research themes on 19th-century history and "Two Cultures". This article outlines the impact of Darwin's evolutionary theory on literatures of the 19th-century British and enlightening-and-colonial-era Korea focusing on some significant features of literary changes, with help of existing researches. It will also give a brief overview of evolutionary psychology as a new perspective of literary criticism. In particular, it will try to show that many transformations of poems and novels appeared diversely depending on different circumstances and various religious or social beliefs societies and individuals were facing and having, and that new understanding of metaphor, narrative, and mind through rediscovery of nature, human and evolution underlay the big changes of literatures.

The artistic idiom of expression in modern poster art make great use of visual illusion. These visual illusions serve carne in sharp relief the idea or concept the artist wishes set forth to the viewer. However we must look at area beyond the psychological impact of visual illusion to the evolutionary history of past and present poster art. The yes of such investigation reveals that the interest in the sub psychological impact of visual illusion is especially deep and reaches for back into the past in the West. Looking at the a of the 15th century in Europe, there is the tradition of drawing that gives the illusion of distance depth, arid substance know as trompe l'oeil, while actually utilizing a flat surface. On needs only look at the works of Arzhibauld, anamolphoses and the surrealism in the works Eschew to realize their influence modern poster art.
