Indoor Positioning Algorithm Combining Bluetooth Low Energy Plate with Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (BLE Beacon Plate 기법과 Pedestrian Dead Reckoning을 융합한 실내 측위 알고리즘)

  • As the demand for indoor location recognition system has been rapidly increased in accordance with the increasing use of smart devices and the increasing use of augmented reality, indoor positioning systems(IPS) using BLE (Bluetooth Lower Energy) beacons and UWB (Ultra Wide Band) have been developed. In this paper, a positioning plate is generated by using trilateration technique based on BLE Beacon and using RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). The resultant value is used to calculate the PDR-based coordinates using the positioning element of the Inertial Measurement Unit sensor, We propose a precise indoor positioning algorithm that combines RSSI and PDR technique. Based on the plate algorithm proposed in this paper, the experiment have done at large scale indoor sports arena and airport, and the results were successfully verified by 65% accuracy improvement with average 2.2m error.

  • 실내 무선 측위 시스템(IPS : Indoor Positioning System) 중 Wifi 신호를 활용하는 방식의 대부분은 측위를 수행하기 이전에 AP의 mac 정보와 수신세기를 수집 하여 radio map을 구축하고 이후 측위 과정에서 수집되는 AP의 정보와 비교하여 위치를 판단한다. 이 방식은 신호 세기의 변화가 없을 경우 실내에서 매우 높은 정확도로 측위를 수행할 수 있다. 그러나 현실세계에서는 구축된 radio map의 신호에 심각한 영향을 줄 수 있는 여러 가지 상황이 존재한다. 대표적으로 채널 간섭 현상을 둘 수 있다. radio map으로 구축되어 있는 AP의 신호 영역 내에 동일 채널 및 인접 채널을 가지는 AP 및 테더링 기기 등이 신규로 설치될 경우 기존 radio map 신호에 영향을 주어 측위 과정에서 정확도가 떨어지는 문제점이 발생하다. 본 논문에서는 앞서 언급한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 AP의 특성 정보를 다중 그리드 Radio map으로 구성하는 방안을 연구하였다. 이 다중 그리드 Radio map을 통해 측위 단계에서 수집된 AP 신호를 더욱 정확하게 분석하고 신호 변동에 능동적으로 대처할 수 있도록 구성하여 기존의 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 방안에 대하여 제안한다.

  • Recently indoor and outdoor location tracking systems are operated in different ways. The indoor positioning method uses WiFi and BLE beacon positioning, and the outdoor positioning uses GPS and PDR. In this paper, it is a device to measure position by using it. It is used to check whether it is indoors or outdoors when measuring based on a smart phone, A automatic conversion method is needed. When using GPS in the room, it is difficult to distinguish the floor or space. We propose a method to solve this problem.

  • As the amount of the wireless mobile products like a 'Smart phone' used increases, the studies about the Location Based Service (LBS) is highly increasing. Outdoor location determination can use the GPS which is built-in in the wireless mobile products. However, it is not possible to use GPS inside the huge cruise bigger than a normal building, it is regarded to consider Indoor location determination which is appropriate at the inside environment. Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) does not need an extra installation process because it is already installed here and there inside the building. In this respect, Wi-Fi has low price competitiveness compared to other wireless sensor products. In this paper, I will introduce 'Bayesian Algorithm' which can recognize useful space with Wi-Fi signal.

  • Recently, various positioning technologies are being researched based on signal-based positioning and image-based positioning to obtain accurate indoor location information. Among these, various studies are being conducted on image positioning technology that determines the location of a mobile terminal using images acquired through cameras and sensor data collected as needed. For video-based positioning, a method of determining indoor location is used by matching mobile terminal photos with virtual landmark images, and for this purpose, it is necessary to build indoor spatial information about various landmarks such as billboards, vending machines, and ATM machines. In order to construct indoor spatial information on various landmarks, a panoramic image in the form of a road view and accurate 3D survey results were obtained through c 13 buildings of the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute(ETRI). When comparing the 3D total station final result and the terrestrial lidar panoramic image coordinates, the coordinates and distance performance were obtained within about 0.10m, confirming that accurate landmark construction for use in indoor positioning was possible. By utilizing these terrestrial lidar achievements to perform 3D landmark modeling necessary for image positioning, it was possible to more quickly model landmark information that could not be constructed only through 3D modeling using existing as-built drawings.

  • The visible light communication is considered as a next generation communication technology, when utilizes LED and PD for communication. Since it is easy to provide LOS communication environment along with cheap deployment cost, the positioning system based on VLC has been actively studied. However, the existing positioning system using VLC requires a complex computation and an additional deployment cost due to sensors for example. In this paper, we propose a new positioning system based on VLC which does not require additional complexity and the cost. In addition, the procedure for operating LED panels for positioning and the recognition schemes of pilot signal are proposed. The performance of recognition schemes of pilot signal is analyzed through the computer simulations.

  • Location-based service providing the customized information or service according to the user's location has attracted a lot of attention from the mobile communication industry. The service is realized by means of several building blocks, a localization scheme, service platform, application and service. The localization scheme figures out a moving target's position through measuring and processing a wireless signal. In this paper, we propose an adaptive localization scheme in an indoor localization system based on IEEE 802.15.4 standard. In order to enhance the localization accuracy, the proposed scheme selects the best reference points and adaptively reflects the changes of propagation environments of a moving target to approximate distances between the target and the reference points in RSS(Received Signal Strength) based localization system using triangulation. Through the implementation of the localization system, we verify the performance of the proposed scheme in terms of the localization accuracy.

  • IPS 측위는 실내의 특정 위치의 무선 신호 정보를 수집하여 radio map을 구성하고 측위 시점에 구성된 정보와 수집된 무선 정보를 비교하여 현재 위치를 판단한다. 비교방법은 핑거프린트, 삼각 측량법 등의 알고리즘을 활용하며 최근에는 wifi 신호와 다른 신호를 혼합하여 계산하거나 다중 비교 방식을 사용하여 정확도를 높이는 측위 방법도 개발되었다. 앞서 언급한 측위방법은 비교적 정확한 실내 위치를 판단하지만 구축된 radio map정보와 측위 시점에서 수집된 신호 정보가 상이할 경우 측위 정확도는 크게 하락한다. 구축 시점과 측위 시점의 무선 신호에 차이가 발생하는 이유는 신호 발생 기기의 고장, 장애물 발생, 채널 간섭 현상 등이다. 특히 채널 간섭은 구축된 신호 영역 내에 동일 채널 및 인접 채널을 가지는 AP 및 테더링 기기 등이 신규로 설치되었을 때 측위에 영향을 주는 신호잡음 현상이다. 본 논문에서는 앞서 언급한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 신호 잡음에 강인한 IPS용 라디오맵에 대하여 제안한다. 제안하는 radio map 설계 방법은 측위 시점에 신호잡음이 발생하였을 때 이 정보를 수집하여 기존 radio map에 반영하여 정확도를 유지하는 방법이다. 이 방법을 적용할 경우 신호잡음에 능동적으로 대처하여 IPS 측위의 정확도를 높일 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • 본 논문의 실내위치측위시스템은 무선랜 환경에서 AP의 RSSI 신호를 수신하여 Friis 공식을 통해 거리로 산출되고, 산출된 거리는 삼각측량법에 의해 (x, y)좌표로 변환되어 현재의 위치를 나타낸다. 여기서 RSSI 신호는 신호잡음을 포함하고 신호잡음으로 인하여 실제 위치 측위 시 오차가 발생한다. 이러한, 오차를 보정하고 실내위치측위 정확도를 향상하기 위해 비선형시스템에서 사용하는 확장칼만필터를 적용하여 실험하였다. 본 실내위치측위시스템의 시스템모델은 선형이고 측정모델은 비선형이므로 효율적인 보정알고리즘인 확장칼만필터를 선택하고 실험은 MATLAB로 수행하였다. 실험결과 실내위치측위시스템의 정확도가 향상되었다.

  • A recent advance in smart phones is increasing utilization of location information. Existing positioning system was using GPS location for positioning. However, the GPS cannot be used indoors, if GPS location has an incorrectly problem. In order to solve indoor positioning problems of indoor location-based positioning techniques have been investigated. There are a variety of techniques based on indoor positioning techniques like as RFID, UWB, WLAN, etc. But WLAN location positioning techniques take advantage the bond in real life. WLAN indoor positioning techniques have a two kind of method that is centroid and fingerprint method. Among them, the fingerprint technique is commonly used because of the high accuracy. In order to use fingerprinting techniques make a WLAN signal map building that is need to lot of resource. In this paper, we try to solve this problem in an Indoor environment for WLAN-based fingerprint of a virtual building technique, which is proposed. Proposed technique is classified Cell environment in existed Indoor environment, all of fingerprint points are shown virtual grid map in each Cell. Its method can make fingerprint grid map very quickly using estimate virtual signal value. Also built signal value can take different value depending of the real estimate value. To solve this problem using a calibration technique for the Splite-tree is proposed. Through calibration technique that improves the accuracy for short period of time. It also is improved overall accuracy using predicted value of around position in cell.
