This study examined bidirectional associations between intergenerational residential proximity and older parents' mental and physical health. The data were drawn from first three waves of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (KLoSA, 2006, 2008, 2010), a nationally representative sample of adults 45 years or older and their spouses. The analytic sample consisted of 2,391 parents aged 60 years or older with at least one child who were continuously married between 2006 and 2010. Intergenerational residential proximity was measured with travel time between parental residence and that of the oldest of the continuously married children. For statistical analysis, autoregressive cross-lagged models were estimated using AMOS. Findings suggest that intergenerational residential proximity may have bidirectional associations with functional health, and an unidirectional association with life satisfaction. Specifically, a closer distance to a married son or daughter reported in 2006 was associated with poorer functional health of the parent in 2008. An older parent's greater number of functional limitations in 2006 was also related to a closer residential proximity to the married child in 2008. A greater residential proximity to a son, but not a daughter, reported in 2006 was associated with a higher level of parental life satisfaction in 2008. Overall, results suggest that having nearby a married adult child, particularly a married son, may help maintain parental health.

The 'spatial senses' mean environments and the instinctive responds to objects in the environments. The infancy is an important period to develop the basic capacity of the 'spatial senses'. Since young children can develop the 'spatial senses' throughout the actual and active search, it is essential for them to do experience through their physical actions. This paper proposes four motion based-contents for improving the spatial sense of young children: a bubble game, a cyber goalkeeper game, a mud-huddle game, and a shape recognition game. The proposed four games are implemented to the virtual learning environments. Also, the virtual learning environments utilize the realistic interfaces which can recognize motions of young children and then interact with the games as they do the movement at the virtual environments provided. Using the realistic interfaces not only develops young children's spatial sense but also offers them the pleasure and interest of self-study.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the physical characteristics and instrumental activities of daily living(IADL) of the elderly (85+). The subjects were three-hundred elderly people over the age of 85, living in Kyungpook Sung-Ju area who have no problems in daily living. The survey on anthropometric measures and IADL were carried out by individual measurement and interviews using measuring devices and questionnaires. The subject group of the study was composed of 27% males and 73% females, the average age being 87 years old. Notable physical features of the subjects include considerably short statues and small physiques compared to the average Korean elder. The mean Body Mass Index(BMI) was 20.9. The average percentage of body fat in male and female was 21.7% and 29.5% respectively, and the average waist/hip ratio(WHR) was 0.9 and 0.85 respectively. The percentage of the subjects who were able to perform all the IADL was 51% in males and 25% in females. The male subjects were more capable than the females in all the IADL except for preparing meals. BMI showed positive correlations withy weight(r=699), WHR(r=0.157), body fat percentage(r=0.57), lean body mass(r=0368) and total body water(r=0.368). WHR also had positive correlation with weight(r=0.184), BMI(r=0.157), lean body mass(r=0.149) and total body water (r=0.148). Body fat percentage had a positive correlation with weight(r=0.147) and BMI(r=0.265) and total body water(r=0.265). In summary, the elderly(85+) in the Sung-Ju area had considerably smaller physiques than the average Korean elderly and showed a normal range of BMI in average. The IADL of the elderly(85+) appeared to have a positive correlation with lean body mass and total body water and a negative correlation with body fat percentage.
The improving in physical activity of Disability elder is the most important and effective way of prevent and treatment. Especially, It improves ADL(Activities Daily of Living) by decreasing restrictive function and dependence. The rapidly aging population is also increasing the number of dementia patients rapidly. Studies have revealed the early signs of slowing progress. Therefore, dementia patient safety, continuous care, daily living, and health care are becoming more important. In this paper, a smart home care system using smart phones and Bluetooth communication technology was used to monitor the state of dementia patients of based on the results of grading dementia, health care of the dementia patients at home and provide for the safety of the system using motion sensors and gas leak sensors to respond to various emergency situations, such as fire, gas leak protection, and loitering. Using this system, the patient can stay longer in their home due to the nature of Korean culture before admission, while reducing the family's economical, physical and psychological burden and allowing the consultation of specialists through the system by building a database of individuals and providing professional service and specialty care referral agencies through the link.

For this purpose, this study reviewed the laws and employment status related in persons with disabilities in North Korea through literature studies and secondary data analysis as the context of the policy analysis. Since then, North Korea's employment policy for persons with disabilities was analyzed according to the framework of Gilbert and Specht(1974). The results of this study are as follows. First, the benefits of the North Korean employment policy for persons with disabilities are employment benefits and vocational skills development benefits. Second, segregated employment is mainly composed of employment policy for persons with disabilities. Third, the allocation of employment policy for persons with disabilities is centered on persons with mild and physical disabilities. Fourth, the delivery system of employment policy for persons with disabilities is segmented around the Cabinets and the People's Committee of each municipality. Based on the results of this analysis, this study suggests the development of employment policy for persons with disabilities in North Korea through the revision of regulations, the diversification of benefits, and the reorganization of delivery systems.
