View of Occupational Therapy Fieldwork Supervisor and Novice Occupational Therapists in Job : Focusing on Adult Occupational Therapists that Work on Hospital (직무에 대한 임상실습 지도자와 신입 작업치료사의 견해 -의료기관에 근무하는 성인 작업치료사를 중심으로-)

  • This purpose of this study was to identify view of occupational therapy fieldwork supervisor and novice occupational therapists in job. 117 fieldwork supervisor and 104 novice occupational therapists that work on 58 domestic hospitals were chosen. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS 20.0 statistics package for Window which determined frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, and range. The following are the results of this study. First, fieldwork supervisor considered that basic refinement and manners are most important when they evaluate student. Second, novice occupational therapists responded that importance is 10 points, conduction is 7 points, and satisfaction is 6 points in general job. Third, importance of fieldwork supervisor for the job were problem identification and established intervention plan in intervention plan appears over the first 2 above. But, conduction of novice occupational therapists for the job were evaluation in all 4 of the top 5 except 2 place. The results of this study are expected to be used as direction guidance of fieldwork to the solve difficulty of novice occupational therapists.

Sensory Integration Clinical Adaptation of Novice Occupational Therapists Working at a Child Private Clinic Center (아동 발달센터에서 근무하는 신입 작업치료사의 감각통합 임상 적응과정)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to identify the experiences of novice occupational therapists working at a child private clinic center in the clinical experience process of sensory integration therapy and to understand the adaptation process in child private clinic center. Methods : The participants were four occupational therapists with less than 1 year of clinical experience. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, and the recorded interview responses were transcribed and analyzed. The analysis of the data was made by phenomenological analytic method suggested by Giorgi. Results : As a result of analyzing the adaptation process of novice occupational therapists working at the child private clinic center, 3 categories, 6 themes, and 16 main meanings were derived. Novice occupational therapists experienced difficulties arising from clinical, obstacles from the working environment, positive factors inside the center, support from outside the center, self-effort, and changes through adaptation experience. Conclusion : Along with changes to the social system and pediatric rehabilitation institution, one's own effort are also required so that novice child occupational therapists working at child private clinic centers can adapt and perform at their roles.

A Study on Translation Process into Korean Version of the Life-Space Assessment to Assess Community Mobility for Elderly (노인의 지역사회 이동성을 측정하는 Life-Space Assessment(LSA)의 한국어 번역에 대한 적합성 검증연구)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study to create a translation of Life Space Assessment(LSA) for elderly, which was then tested for content related validity and understanding test. Methods : The translation and content validation process involved direct and backward translation, and the collection of content-related evidence from 6 expert panels and 13 clinician panels. A content validity indices (CVI), means, and standard deviations were used for the analysis of the content validity. Results : The results of the comparison between the original LSA and the Korean LSA with the expert panels were I-CVI showed a very high value of .93. and 1.00, and S-CVI/Ave 0.99. The results of the understanding test were showed a very high value of .92 and 1.00, and S-CVI/Ave 0.97. Conclusion : Korean LSA showed content related validity and understanding test, and illustrated the applicability of LSA in a Korean clinical setting. The results showed LSA can be used a useful tool for evaluating the community mobility of elderly.
