이달의 인터뷰 - 단체급식의 산업과 문화를 선도하는 대한급식신문 최석철 발행인

  • 대한급식신문은 단체급식 산업과 문화의 발전을 선도하는 국내 대표 단체급식 전문신문이다. 급식이란 '외식 산업'을 비롯해 상업성 비상업성 급식 모두를 포함하는 정의로 우리 오리산업과 긴밀하지 않을 수 없다. 그리고 우리와 같은 급식 산업 내의 소비자와 공급자, 그리고 관계 기관들은 국내 급식 외식산업의 조명을 대한급식신문을 통해 공유하고 있다. 국내 급식산업은 2006년 대형위탁급식업체의 학교급식 식중독사고 이후 많은 변화를 겪었다. 이로 인해 우리나라 모든 학교가 직영급식체제로 변환하게 되었지만, 국내 급식환경이 너무 열악하여 관련 종사자들에게 정보를 전달해 줄 수 있는 방법이 전혀 없었던 실정이었다. 이에 지금의 최석철 발행인은 대한급식신문을 창간하고 국내 급식 외식산업을 수준 높은 산업의 이미지를 각인시키는데 이바지 해오고 있다. 또한 '우수급식 외식산업전, 설맞이 명절 선물상품전, 한가위 명절선물상품전' 등 연간 3회의 전시회를 주관, 국내 급식 외식산업의 새로운 판로개척의 기회를 제공하고 있다. 현재 매쎄이앤디 대표이사와 대한급식신문사의 대표이사로 활발한 활동을 펼치고 있는 최석철 발행인을 본지에서 만나봤다.

  • The Electronic Times, starting in 1982 as a weekly newspaper, has become an influential daily newspaper specializing in Information Technology(IT) since the mid 1990s in Korea. Particularly, it has shown significant and impressive financial achievements in the past thirty years since it was established. Also, it has contributed to the development in the field of IT journalism as well as the popularization of Information Technology. The primary purpose of this study is to provide useful lessons and implications to those who are interested in the evolution of The Electronic Times by investigating the financial performance of The Electronic Times and its contributions to the popularization of IT in our society.

  • 본 논문에서는 대학의 교양 및 전공 수업에서 4차 산업혁명의 시사적 내용을 이해하기 위하여 최신 ICT 기술, 서비스, 산업 등과 관련된 뉴스 및 신문 기사를 활용한 교육 모델을 제시한다. 교육 모델에서는 다양한 뉴스 신문 기사를 서로 비교하면서 보기 위하여 e-NIE(electronic news in education)와 전 세계 교육용 SNS인 Edmodo 콘텐츠 활용 방법을 소개한다. 수강생들을 실험집단으로 설정하여 수강 전과 후의 정성적 효과를 분석한 결과, 대학에서의 뉴스 신문 활용 강좌의 필요성에 대하여 크게 동감하였다(5점 척도의 점수가 14.9% 향상).

  • The purpose of this study is to find a way to revive newspaper industry against digital new media revolution such as the internet, SNS(Social Network Service). To this end, indepth-interviews were conducted with the target incumbent senior reporters. The research areas are consisted of four subjects. For instance Awareness about the newspaper business crisis, the need for profitable business, potential conflicts of journalism and business, and desirable business. As a result of my research, executive reporters said that There is no management strategy Against the rapid expansion of social media and Therefore Business diversification is required. In short, They said that alternative business model should be developed, in which public and business interest are commonly respected, such as Information & Culture (internet, broadcasting, film, game, music), play, exhibition, publishing, and education.

A Study on Main Issues of the Constitutional Petition against "the Newspaper Law" (신문법 위헌소송의 주요 쟁점에 관한 연구)

  • The Law Ensuring the Freedom and the Functions of Liability of the Newspapers ("The Newspaper Law") which was passed in the National Assembly on January 1, 2005 is considered as a tremendous setback compared to "the Newspaper Bill" of civil press organizations. Of the two instruments to ensure the editorial freedom, the regulation on the newspaper company ownership share distribution was eliminated and the editorial committee (editorial codes of ethics) became an arbitrary system. That is, the Newspaper Law was criticized as a law of "half-success." However, the Newspaper Law has its own benefit by institutionalizing the establishment of the Korea Commission for the Press, the Press Fund, and the Korea Newspaper Circulation Service for Promoting Newspaper Businesses and by strengthening the criteria to estimate market dominant businesspeople in newspaper market than general markets to ensure the diversity of public opinions. As the Newspaper Law was promulgated, Donga-Ilbo and Chosun-Ilbo submitted the Constitutional Petition against "the Newspaper Law" and the Constitutional Court is expected to give the decision soon. Based on the "Supplements on the Grounds of the Constitutional Petition against the Newspaper Law" ("the Petition"), this paper will examine the main issues of the debates over the Constitutionality of the Newspaper Law.

Business Strategies of Japanese Newspaper Companies: Top-level Managers' Perception and Reacting toward the Newspaper Crisis (일본 신문기업의 경영전략 연구: 경영진의 위기인식과 대응책을 중심으로)

  • This paper reviews the problems and opportunities of Japanese newspaper industry. In the focus are particularly issues related to causes of the crisis and reacting strategies overcoming the crisis. To answer the questions, we conducted in-depth interviews with top-level managers of major newspaper companies in Japan. Secondary data were gathered to complement the interview. Top managers mainly perceived the causes of the crisis as young readers' alienation from newspaper due to the change of media environment and structural factors such as increasing production/distribution costs and diminishing appeals for advertisers. They are implementing several strategies to overcome this crisis - developing newspaper content for young readers; packaging customized on-off line advertisement; extending news distribution via online and mobile platforms; diversifying business into diverse sectors such as real-estate; enhancing brand equity of newspaper; and collaborating with rival newspaper companies in operating news site and joint printing/distribution. Lessons from the case of Japanese newspaper industry may be useful starting points for the Korean newspaper companies agonizing for diminishing circulation and advertising revenues.

  • This study evaluates representability and comprehensivity of the Theasurus in theeconomics and industry fields of the "General Thesaurus of Newspaper Articles." The methodsused in the study were, first, indexing of the pages covering economics and industry articlesusing the Thesaurus and second, comparing the Thesaurus terms with the words collectedfrom the newspapers articles and glossaries. The study clarifies the following problems whichmight occur in the construction and use of newspaper thesaurus: specificity of the subjectconcepts, separation of component concept, preference relationship between descriptors andentry terms, the methods of recording of proper nouns and allocation of terms among thesubject areas concern.he subject areas concern.
