Current Status of International Standardization for Durability Test Methods in Smart Clothing and Future Challenges in Enhancing Product Reliability and Quality Control (스마트 의류의 사용환경 내구성 시험에 대한 국제 표준화 현황과 제품의 신뢰성 향상 및 품질 관리를 위한 향후 과제)

  • Smart clothing products can experience a decrease in performance and reliability due to various mechanical, biological, and chemical stress factors that occur throughout their life cycle. These issues can hinder consumer acceptance of the products. This study aims to enhance the reliability of smart clothing and facilitate quality control by analyzing and identifying the current status of international standardization for smart clothing and electronic textiles (e-textiles). The focus of this analysis was on the durability test methods in the use environment. Furthermore, similar standards published by different standardization organizations for durability tests were compared in depth. The study showed that a total of 27 international standards have been developed or are currently under development. The current standardization efforts mainly aim to develop functionality and durability test methods for smart clothing and e-textile products. A detailed comparison was made between two international standards (IEC 63023-204-1:2023 and AATCC TM210:2019) specifically in relation to the washing durability test method and the electrical resistance measurement standards (BS EN 16812:2016 vs AATCC EP13-2021), before and after the environmental exposure tests. Based on this comparison, several suggestions have been made and discussed for the future revision of these international standards.

MIMO ARQ Systems Using Alamouti Coding with Optimal Retransmission Order for Maritime Communications System (해상 통신을 위한 Alamouti 방식의 다중안테나 기반 최적 재전송 순서 기법)

  • Recently there have been much interest in the performance improvement of maritime communication system. In the maritime communication system, the wireless channel is likely to be time-invariant and the retransmission scheme is not proper because it does not provide time diversity. For the improvement of reliability, we consider MIMO ARQ scheme using Alamouti-type signal which can provide space and time diversity. In this paper, we also propose the criterion of optimal retransmission order and provide its performance of error probability and packet throughput. The proposed MIMO ARQ scheme with optimal retransmission order has performance gain over random ordered MIMO ARQ and conventional Chase combining method. Therefore we expect that it can be adapted to the next generation maritime communication system.

  • In this paper, an integrated probabilistic strength analysis was conducted to predict the reliability of a composite pressure vessel under inner pressure loading condition. As a probabilistic strength analysis, the probabilistic progressive failure model consisting of progressive failure model and Monte Carlo simulation was incorporated with a commercial FEA code, ABAQUS Standard, to perform the probabilistic failure analysis of composite structure which has a complex shape and boundary conditions. As design random variables, the laminar strengths of each direction were considered. Finally, from probabilistic strength analysis, the scattering of burst pressure could be explained and the reliability of composite pressure vessel could be obtained for each component. In case of composite structures in mass production, the effects of uncertainties in material and manufacturing on the performance of composite structures would apparently become larger. So, the probabilistic strength analysis is essential for the structural design of composite structures in mass production.

Reliability Analysis for Composite Laminated Plate Using Hybrid Response Surface Method (복합 반응면 기법을 이용한 복합재 적층판의 신뢰성해석)

  • In this paper, the hybrid response surface method(HRSM) is proposed and examined. Hybrid response surface method calculate a approximate model repeatedly based on MPP coordinates. To verify the performance, probability of failure, MPP(Most Probable failure Point) and reliability index are calculated for nonlinear function and composite laminated plate by using reliability analysis method and compared with results by using typical response surface method(RSM). Probability of failure is calculated under the assumption of the nonlinear limit state equation and given failure criterion. The results of proposed method shows performance improvement in estimating the probability of failure.

  • When using reliable multicast protocol over air links, the multicast packets lost in the air link cause the initiation of retransmission request packets and the implosion of retransmission packets, which deteriorate multicast session performance. This paper proposes on the efficient reliable multicast mechanism in wireless networks utilizing the Agents. In this paper we show the design of a retransmission agent which improves the performance of reliable multicast sessions in wireless network. The main idea is to cache reliable multicast packets at the base station and perform local retransmissions across the wireless link. MATLAB has been used to simulate and to get performance results for signaling overhead and processing delay through the comparison of the proposed agent model to the Multicast File Transfer Protocol. It has been proven from the simulation results that the proxy module make pass trials shorter in Multicast File Transfer Protocol.

  • 유무선이 혼합된 망에 적용할 수 있는 신뢰적 멀티캐스트를 지원하기 위해서는 피드백 포구, 재전송 노출등의 문제를 해결하여 효율성과 확장성을 보장해야한다. 이를 위해서 유선망과 무선망의 특성을 함께 고려한 적절한 방법이 필요하였다. 본 논문에서는 유선 망에서는 신뢰성을 보장하기 위해 NACK 기반의 신뢰성 전송기법을 사용하고, 무선 망에서는 ACK와 NAK를 병행하는 방법으로 제어 패킷의 수와 복구시간을 줄여 효율적인 신뢰적 멀티캐스트 서비스를 지원하도록 하였다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the effects of the competitiveness of intermediate goods and enterprise's core competency on customer value and enterprise performance. And it is surely meaningful to investigate the intermediate product competitiveness with the variable of interest to recent corporate values and corporate customers with business performance by exploring their relationships. This research focuses on the intermediate goods competitive dimension and the company's core competency, and then several models are proposed. The research model is based on the existing core competencies of the conceptual model, which consists of intermediate goods competitive, core competencies, product innovation, product reliability, customer value and corporate performance. The automobile company in China and Korea are focused in this paper; empirical analysis method is applied to examine the relationships in these areas. The concept of core competencies in the existing competitive enterprises in product and process is defined as the relative advantage. Eight hypotheses are introduced for statistical hypothesis testing. Employees and typical intermediate products in automotive companies in China and Korea are investigated.

Reliability improvement of LED's red phosphor by coating (코팅에 의한 LED 적생 형광체의 신뢰성 개선)

  • 본 연구에서는 실리케이트 적색 형광체의 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위하여 $SiO_2$ 박막을 졸-겔(sol-gel) 방법으로 코팅하였으며, 봉지재의 종류에 따른 코팅된 형광체의 신뢰성 변화를 조사하였다. 졸-겔 코팅 후 형광체 표면을 관찰한 결과 졸-겔 코팅이 잘 이루어 졌음을 알 수 있었으며, 4회 코팅 후 박막의 두께는 약 150nm였다. 코팅하지 않은 형광체의 경우 봉지재에 따른 차이는 있었지만 500시간 경과 후 효율 감소율은 30% 이상이었으며 코팅 한 형광체의 경우는 에폭시, JCR6175가 10${\sim}$25%, EG6301은 10% 이내의 효율 감소율을 보였다. 한편 색좌표 경우 에폭시 봉지재가 약 0.02의 변화를 EG6301 봉지재의 경우 0.01 이내의 변화를 보였다.
