The Influence of Knowledge, Beliefs and Attitudes on Anti-Smoking Public Service Announcement Message Types and Audience Characteristics (수용자특성 및 금연광고 메시지가 지식․신념․태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: In this study, the most executed social norm and advertisement about health consequences status were examined. The direction of effective anti-smoking advertisement is suggested in this study by figuring out the primary factors which affect smoking attitudes. Methods: The survey period of this study was from Nov $5^{th}$ to Nov $16^{th}$, 2012. 423 complete questionnaires were used for final analysis. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS Ver. 14.0, and reliability analysis, factor analysis, frequency analysis, F/t qualification, t-test, and multiple regression analysis, were performed. Results: This study is worth as a diagnosis of current status by using advertisement about social norm(51.4%) and health result(34.3%), which covers total of 85% in appeal types of anti-smoking advertisement that has been practically used in Korea. As a result, the health result type showed better result on belief and attitude. Conclusions: When establishing message strategy for anti-smoking advertisement, this study can help future direction for effective anti-smoking advertisement by figuring out effect of factors on smoking attitude.

Moderating Effect of Belief Homogeneity on the Relationshipsamong Attitudinal Ambivalence towards Eating Meat, BehaviorIntention and Consumption Behavior (육류 섭취에 대한 태도양면성, 행동의도와 소비행동의 관계에 미치는 신념동질성의 조절효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the moderating effect of belief homogeneity on the relation-ships among attitudinal ambivalence, behavior intention and consumption behavior. The questionnaire, which consisted of items to measure the constructs of belief homogeneity, attitudinal ambivalence, behavior intention and consumption behavior, were completed by 338 subjects in Jeonnam area. Moderated regression analysis was used to measure the moderating effect of belief homogeneity. To test validity and reliability of constructs, factor analysis and Cronbach's $\alpha$ were used in this study. Results of the study demonstrated that the moderated regression analysis result for the data also indicated a better model fit in Model 2 than Model 1. In the Model 1, the main effects of behavior intention and attitudinal ambivalence on consumption behavior were statistically significant. In the Model 2, the main effects of behavior intention, belief homogeneity and attitudinal ambivalence on consumption behavior were statistically significant. The interactional effects of belief homogeneity$\times$attitudinal ambivalence on consumption behavior were statistically significant. Moreover, the effects of attitudinal ambivalence on consumption behavior were statistically significant at all levels of belief homogeneity, except for when homogeneity was high.

  • This article investigated the effects of students' knowledge, beliefs, and attitudes about environment on environmental issue-based environmental problem solving in secondary school students. This article also investigated whether these factors are related to the environmental problem solving. Therefore, we first developed the test instruments to measure secondary school students' environmental knowledge, environmental beliefs, and environmental attitudes. Then, we developed the environmental issue-based teaching materials for secondary school students. The subjects participated in a environmental issue-based approach that consist of 3 lesson over an three weeks period. The results of this study presents that environmental knowledge and environmental beliefs are effective for the environmental problem solving in middle school environment class. First, secondary school students knew well ecological knowledge about environmental problem, and was entertaining most ecological beliefs. Second, secondary school students were having attitude which is most pro-environmental behaviors. Third, secondary school students are referring necessity of development partially about environment point at issue of country level. But, they were retaining situation of preservation about environment point at issue of area level. It's not easy to generalize these results because of many different variables, but the results suggests that teachers should make an effort to improve student's environmental problem solving ability applying environmental issue-based learning. And it's necessary to develop many kinds of environmental issues and teacher's instruction method to enrich problem solving ability in the process of environmental issue-based learning.

The Influence of Early Childhood Science Education through Field Practice on the Belief of Science Teaching and Science Teaching Attitudes of Preschool Teachers (현장 적용 유아과학교육 수업이 예비유아교사의 과학 교수방법 신념 및 과학 교수태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of early childhood science education instruction through the implementation of science teaching methods and science teaching attitudes of preschool teachers. Methods: This study was conducted on 52 female students in the early childhood education department of Early Childhood Science Education at G university in Gyeongbuk province. The data collected in this study were analyzed through reliability analysis, carbon scanners verification, and homogeneity verification; ANCOVA was used to verify the effectiveness of the program. Results: First, the results showed that the post-test belief of science teaching methods of the experimental group were significantly different than that of the control group. Second, the results showed that the post-test scores of science teaching attitudes of the experimental group were significantly higher than that of the control group. Conclusion/Implications: This study suggests that there were positive influences of early childhood science education instruction through the field practice on the belief of science teaching methods and science teaching attitudes of preschool teachers.

Measuring the Effects of Belief, Subjective Norm, Moral Feeling and Attitude on Intention to Consume Organic Beef (유기농 쇠고기에 대한 신념, 주관적 규범, 도덕 관념과 태도가 소비 의도에 미치는 영향 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the causal relationships among belief, subjective norm, moral feeling, attitude, and the intention to consume organic beef. A total of 326 questionnaires were completed by adult in Jeonnam area. Structural equation modeling was used to measure the causal relationships among the constructs. The structural analysis results indicated an excellent model-data fit. The covariance effects of belief and subjective norm, and belief and moral feeling were statistically significant. The effects of belief and moral feeling on attitude and intention to consume were also statistically significant. As expected, attitude had significant effects on intention to consume. Moreover, attitude played a mediating roles in the relationship between belief and intention to consume. Finally, based on structural analysis, a model was proposed for the interrelations among belief, subjective norm and moral feeling towards organic food, attitude and intention to consume. It should be noted that the original organic food consumption model was modified, and should preferably be validated by future research. Other constructs, such as perceived behavior control and consumption, may be incorporated to form models that consist of new antecedent and consequence pairs.

An Analysis of Pre-service Science Teachers' Reflective Thinking aboutvScientific Experiment in Experimental Journal Writings (실험 저널쓰기에서 나타난 예비과학교사들의 과학실험에 대한 반성적 사고 분석)

  • In this study, pre-service science teachers' reflective thinking in their journal writing was investigated. To do this, the authors used pre-service science teachers' journal writing abilities, wherein they not only reported data and result formally, but also wrote their feelings and reflections about an inquiry-based physics experiment they performed. Pre-service science teachers' writings were decomposed into sentences and each sentence was analyzed into a framework with 4 dimensions: knowledge, procedure, orientation and attitude. Reflective thinking in knowledge dimension included reflection on what they know before the experiment, what they still do not know and what they learned from the experiment. Reflective thinking in procedure dimension included recalls of experiences about general experimental procedures and specific experimental skill. Reflective thinking in orientation dimension included their views about the nature of science and science teaching and learning, and reflective thinking in attitude dimension consisted of interests, motives and values about the experiment they performed. While there were some variations in frequency distribution of reflective thinking by the topic of experiments, pre-service science teachers' reflective thinking in journal writings revealed their metacognition on their knowledge and learning, epistemological belief about science and science learning, and affective domain related to experiment. This study can infer that such kind of writing with 'their own language' in an informal way followed by formal 'scientific' reports in a scientific experiment has a significance not only as a mediator representing reflective thinking but also as an instructional activity to facilitate reflective thinking in science learning and teaching.

Influential Factors on Rehabilitation Exercise Practice in Elderly Lmited Activities of Daily-Living: An Analysis based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (일상생활수행 제한 노인들의 재활운동행위의 실천에 따른 영향요인 분석(계획된 행위이론을 적용하여))

  • Background: This research has been carried out to analyze presupposition factors which influence factors on Rehabilitation Exercise practice in Elderly limited Activities of Daily-Living an Anlaysis based on Theory of Planned Behavior to support to induce Rehabilitation Exercise behavior. Method: From the geriatric hospitals in Pusan and Kyungnam, 316 elderly who has ADL Disability participated in the study. We did 1st questionnaire investigation. We provided them 4 weeks of Rehabilitation Exercise training, and 2 weeks later we collected 2nd questionnaire sheet to confirm their Rehabilitation Exercise behavior practice and analysed. Results: In this research relative influence to behavioral intention for Rehabilitation Exercise headed by attitude toward the behavior(.61), perceived behavior control(-.56) and subjective norm(.27)these results were slightly different from other research, in case of perceived behavior control was low but on attitude toward the behavior it showed high in results. It's older have strong subjectivities and has not change their mind, the old's behavioral intention is expressed as an attitude toward the behavior. Rehabilitation Exercise Practice of Elder should prioritize to have the health belief which is positive, As a result it will be regarded to expect the maximum effect.

A Study on the Factors of Individual Acceptance for Online Game (온라인게임의 개인적 수용 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Online games belong to a technology-oriented service industry that has emerged from the assimilation of game contents and communication networks in the respective realms of culture technology (CT) and information technology (IT). This study examines the individual acceptance of online games as entertainment-oriented technology based on the belief-attitude-intention paradigm and the underlying hedonic and utilitarian motivations. To measure the latent variables influencing the acceptance process, a structured questionnaire was developed based on the existing Technology Acceptance Model. Research model analysis and hypothesis testing were carried out using a structural equation model. Results indicated that latent variables reflecting hedonic and utilitarian characteristics had a significant influence on user behavior in the acceptance of online games. By uncovering the core factors in! fluencing the acceptance of online games and thereby theoretically verifying the latent variables influencing the acceptance of entertainment-oriented technology, this study provides strategic implications for business models by game companies aimed at attracting a large user base and dominating the market.

Applying the Theory of Planned Behavior to Understand Milk Consumption among WIC Preagnant Women (저소득층 임신부들의 우유 소비 행동을 이해하기 위한예측이론(Theory of Planned Behavior)의 적용)

  • Despite the importance of prenatal nutrition, many studies find inadequate calcium intake among pregnant women. The purpose of this study was to investigate the value of the Theory of Planned Behavior in explaining the intentions and the actual consumption of milk among pregnant women participating in or eligible for WIC. A cross-sectional survey was conducted to collect information regarding attitudes, subjective norms, perceived control, milk allocation within the family, intentions and consumption of milk. The survey questionnaire was developed using open-ended questions and interviews with 112 pregnant women. One-hundred-eighty women recruited from prenatal clinics completed the survey questionnaire. Multiple regression was used separately to investigate the association of factors to intentions and to the consu-mption of milk, as proposed in the theory. Milk allocation within the family was used as an exploratory variable to explain milk consumption. Study findings revealed that all three factors, attitudes, subjective norms and perceived control contributed to the model in explaining intentions (explained variance : 36.2%), with perceived control being most important. For milk consumption, intentions and perceived control were related significantly to actual consumption, while milk allocation within the family was not (explained variance : 44.6%). These findings suggest that perceived control is important in understanding both intentions and milk consumption, providing empirical evidence for the Theory of Planned Behavior. With respect to the role of perceived control, more strong evidence was provided in explaining intentions. Findings suggest that educational interventions to increase milk consumption among pregnant women should incorporate strategies to enhance the perception of control, and to strengthen positive attitudes and to elicit social support from significant other. A Comparative Study on the influences of COO image and Brand Association Knowledge to customer's buying intention between Korea and China - Focused on the moderating effect of Consumers' ethnocentrism - (한.중 소비자의 브랜드 원산지이미지와 브랜드 연상지식이 구매의도에 미치는 영향관계에 관한 비교연구 - 소비자 자민족중심주의성향 정도에 따른 상호조절효과 중심으로 -)

  • This comparative study conducted to examine the differences between Korean and Chinese consumers. The specific goals of the study were as follows; First, It was to investigate the influences of COO(Country of Origin) image on the customer…s buying intention through the brand association knowledge. It is also aimed at analyzing the moderating effects of consumer's ethnocentrism on the influence of brand association knowledge on the buying intention. To test the hypotheses, 117 questionnaires were collected from university students in Korea and 119 questionnaires did from China and put to the test with SPSS 17.0 and AMOS 7.0. The results indicated the followings: For consumers in both countries, the COO image had not influences on the buying intention. For Korean consumers the COO image had positive impacts on the brand association knowledge, which in turn had positive impacts on the buying intention. For Chinese consumer, COO image did not have influences on the brand association knowledge, but the brand association knowledge had positive impact on the buying intention. In addition, the consumer's ethnocentrism had moderating effects on the influences of the brand association knowledge on the buying intention.
