  • Objectives: While many studies have been conducted on whether smoking scenes in films actually affect audience members' smoking, a comprehensive conclusion has yet to be derived. This study systematically reviewed the effect of smoking scenes in films on audience members' attitudes, beliefs, and actions. Methods: We analyzed a total of 146 studies searched on PubMed and PsycINFO (41 qualitative studies, 72 cross-sectional studies, 20 longitudinal studies, and 13 experimental studies). Results: Whereas qualitative studies have only demonstrated that audience members tend to perceive smoking scenes in films not as negative information but as positive information, cross-sectional studies have reported a significant association between smoking scenes and smoking behavior notwithstanding the problems of classifying the groups studied and measuring the degree of exposure. Through follow-up observations, longitudinal studies have reported that such media exposure can serve as a predictor of future smoking. Finally, with exposure and confounding variables under control, experimental studies have confirmed that smoking scenes in films indeed affect audience members' attitudes, beliefs, and actions regarding smoking. Conclusions: Scenes of actors and actresses smoking can be imitated or learned through audience members' immersion and identification and reproduce positive images that may render smoking socially acceptable.

  • Drawing on Protection Motivation Theory(PMT), this study attempts to clarify antecedents that influence the intention to protect individuals' privacy on the Internet. Protection motivation forms through individuals' cognitive appeal involving threat and efficacy. Then protection motivation causes privacy behavioral change. Protection motivation factors are established privacy trust and privacy risk, which are related to privacy attitude and belief. This proposed model is empirically analyzed by utilizing structural equation analysis(SEM). According to the result of the empirical analysis, it is founded that almost paths have statistically significant explanatory power except path from efficacy to privacy risk and path from privacy trust to privacy behavioral intention. This study shows powerful evidence of antecedent factors based on protection motivation of individuals' privacy behavioral intention in online environment.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the impacts of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination-related health belief, attitudes toward HPV vaccination, and subjective norms on HPV vaccination intent targeting mothers of elementary school daughters. Methods: The study use a correlative survey design. The subjects of the study were 121 mothers of elementary school daughters located in metropolitan city B. All subjects agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected from September 1 to October 18, 2018, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Independent t-test, ANOVA with a post hoc $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Attitude toward HPV vaccination, subjective norms, vaccination plans for their children, and mother's vaccination status were significant factors influencing HPV vaccination intention. These factors accounted for 72% of the HPV vaccination intention. Conclusions: This study showed that factors affecting the intention of mothers of elementary school daughters to vaccinate against HPV were HPV vaccination attitudes, subjective norms, vaccination plans for their children, and mother's vaccination status. The biggest influencing factor was HPV vaccination attitudes. Therefore, in order to encourage mothers of elementary school daughters to vaccinate against HPVs, national-level policies should be implemented to create a social atmosphere of positive attitudes toward HPV vaccinations that also emphasizes how easy it is to get vaccinated against HPV. Based on this, mothers of elementary school daughters should be encouraged to have them vaccinated against HPV, thus contributing to improving the HPV vaccination rates of elementary school girls.

  • The study examines public attitude and reaction regarding administrative integration in Daegu and Gyeongbuk area. Specifically, it employs social big data including textual comments on online news articles and YouTube video clips. The collected data are analyzed in order to compare two periods, that is, before and after the inauguration of the Public Opinion Committee for One Daegu-Gyeongbuk. As a result, we have found that people's favorable response to administrative integration has gradually increased since the launch of the Committee. However, it still lacks specific administrative procedures and discussion topics among the frequently used words in the collected data. Thus, the Committee needs to provide a variety of information and materials related to administrative integration.
