  • Recently, many companies improving their management performance by building a powerful brand value which is recognized for trademark rights. However, as growing up the size of online commerce market, the infringement of trademark rights is increasing. According to various studies and reports, cases of foreign and domestic companies infringing on their trademark rights are increased. As the manpower and the cost required for the protection of trademark are enormous, small and medium enterprises(SMEs) could not conduct preliminary investigations to protect their trademark rights. Besides, due to the trademark image search service does not exist, many domestic companies have a problem that investigating huge amounts of trademarks manually when conducting preliminary investigations to protect their rights of trademark. Therefore, we develop an intelligent similar trademark search model to reduce the manpower and cost for preliminary investigation. To measure the performance of the model which is developed in this study, test data selected by intellectual property experts was used, and the performance of ResNet V1 101 was the highest. The significance of this study is as follows. The experimental results empirically demonstrate that the image classification algorithm shows high performance not only object recognition but also image retrieval. Since the model that developed in this study was learned through actual trademark image data, it is expected that it can be applied in the real industrial environment.

  • This study aimed to confirm the importance ratio of climate and management variables on production of orchardgrass in Korea (1982-2014). For the climate, the mean temperature in January (MTJ, ℃), lowest temperature in January (LTJ, ℃), growing days 0 to 5 (GD 1, day), growing days 5 to 25 (GD 2, day), Summer depression days (SSD, day), rainfall days (RD, day), accumulated rainfall (AR, mm), and sunshine duration (SD, hr) were considered. For the management, the establishment period (EP, 0-6 years) and number of cutting (NC, 2nd-5th) were measured. The importance ratio on production of orchardgrass was estimated using the neural network model with the perceptron method. It was performed by SPSS 26.0 (IBM Corp., Chicago). As a result, EP was the most important variable (100%), followed by RD (82.0%), AR (79.1%), NC (69.2%), LTJ (66.2%), GD 2 (63.3%), GD 1 (61.6%), SD (58.1%), SSD (50.8%) and MTJ (41.8%). It implies that EP, RD, AR, and NC were more important than others. Since the annual rainfall in Korea is exceed the required amount for the growth and development of orchardgrass, the damage caused by heavy rainfall exceeding the appropriate level could be reduced through drainage management. It means that, when cultivating orchardgrass, factors that can be controlled were relatively important. Although it is difficult to interpret the specific effect of climates on production due to neural networking modeling, in the future, this study is expected to be useful in production prediction and damage estimation by climate change by selecting major factors.

  • Recently, automatic text summarization, which automatically summarizes only meaningful information for users, is being studied steadily. Especially, research on text summarization using Transformer, an artificial neural network model, has been mainly conducted. Among various studies, the GSG method, which trains a model through sentence-by-sentence masking, has received the most attention. However, the traditional GSG has limitations in selecting a sentence to be masked based on the degree of overlap of tokens, not the meaning of a sentence. Therefore, in this study, in order to improve the quality of text summarization, we propose SbGSG (Semantic-based GSG) methodology that selects sentences to be masked by GSG considering the meaning of sentences. As a result of conducting an experiment using 370,000 news articles and 21,600 summaries and reports, it was confirmed that the proposed methodology, SbGSG, showed superior performance compared to the traditional GSG in terms of ROUGE and BERT Score.

  • The objectives of this study are to develop the total maximum daily loads simulation system, TOLOS that is capable of estimating annual nonpoint source pollution from small watersheds, to monitor the hydrology and water quality of the Balkan HP#6 watershed, and to validate TOLOS with the field data. TOLOS consists of three subsystems: the input data processor based on a geographic information system, the models, and the post processor. Land use pattern at the tested watershed was classified from the Landsat TM data using the artificial neutral network model that adopts an error back propagation algorithm. Paddy field components were added to SWAT model to simulate water balance at irrigated paddy blocks. SWAT model parameters were obtained from the GIS data base, and additional parameters calibrated with field data. TOLOS was then tested with ungauged conditions. The simulated runoff was reasonably good as compared with the observed data. And simulated water quality parameters appear to be reasonably comparable to the field data.

  • Landslide has been a major disaster in Indonesia, and recent climate change and indiscriminate urban development around the mountains have increased landslide risks. Java Island, Indonesia, where more than half of Indonesia's population lives, is experiencing a great deal of damage due to frequent landslides. However, even in such a dangerous situation, the number of inhabitants residing in the landslide-prone area increases year by year, and it is necessary to develop a technique for analyzing landslide-hazardous and vulnerable areas. In this regard, this study aims to evaluate landslide susceptibility of Java, an island of Indonesia, by using GIS-based spatial prediction models. We constructed the geospatial database such as landslide locations, topography, hydrology, soil type, and land cover over the study area and created spatial prediction models by applying Weight of Evidence (WoE), decision trees algorithm and artificial neural network. The three models showed prediction accuracy of 66.95%, 67.04%, and 69.67%, respectively. The results of the study are expected to be useful for prevention of landslide damage for the future and landslide disaster management policies in Indonesia.

  • Prediction and control of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emission is of great interest in industry due to stricter environmental regulations. Herein, we propose an artificial intelligence (AI)-based framework for prediction of NOx emission. The framework includes pre-processing of data for training of neural networks and evaluation of the AI-based models. In this work, Long-Short-Term Memory (LSTM), one of the recurrent neural networks, was adopted to reflect the time series characteristics of NOx emissions. A decision tree was used to determine a time window of LSTM prior to training of the network. The neural network was trained with operational data from a heating furnace. The optimal model was obtained by optimizing hyper-parameters. The LSTM model provided a reliable prediction of NOx emission for both training and test data, showing an accuracy of 93% or more. The application of the proposed AI-based framework will provide new opportunities for predicting the emission of various air pollutants with time series characteristics.

  • There have been many studies on statistical forecasting on firm's performance and stock price by applying various financial indicators such as debt ratio and sales growth rate. Selecting predictors for constructing a prediction model among the various financial indicators is very important for precise prediction. Most of the previous studies applied variable selection algorithms for selecting predictors. However, the variable selection algorithm is considered to be at risk of eliminating certain amount of information from the indicators that were excluded from model construction. Therefore, we propose a firm's performance prediction model which principal component analysis is applied instead of the variable selection algorithm, in order to reduce dimensionality of input variables of the prediction model. In this study, we constructed the proposed prediction model by using financial data of American IT companies to empirically analyze prediction performance of the model.

  • There are many investors in the stock market, and more and more people get interested in the stock investment. In order to avoid risks and make profit in the stock investment, we have to determine several aspects using various information. That is, we have to select profitable stocks and determine appropriate buying/selling prices and holding period. This paper proposes a data mining tool for the investors' decision support. The data mining tool makes stock investors apply machine learning techniques and generate stock price prediction model. Also it helps determine buying/selling prices and holding period. It supports individual investor's own decision making using past data. Using the proposed tool, users can manage stock data, generate their own stock price prediction models, and establish trading policy via investment simulation. Users can select technical indicators which they think affect future stock price. Then they can generate stock price prediction models using the indicators and test the models. They also perform investment simulation using proper models to find appropriate trading policy consisting of buying/selling prices and holding period. Using the proposed data mining tool, stock investors can expect more profit with the help of stock price prediction model and trading policy validated on past data, instead of with an emotional decision.

  • This paper proposes a machine learning-based emotion analysis system that detects a user's depression through their SNS posts. We first made a list of keywords related to depression in Korean, then used these to create a training data by crawling Twitter data - 1,297 positive and 1,032 negative tweets in total. Lastly, to identify the best machine learning model for text-based depression detection purposes, we compared RNN, LSTM, and GRU in terms of performance. Our experiment results verified that the GRU model had the accuracy of 92.2%, which is 2~4% higher than other models. We expect that the finding of this paper can be used to prevent depression by analyzing the users' SNS posts.

  • In this paper, we propose a process of increasing productivity by applying a deep learning-based defect detection and classification system to the prepreg fiber manufacturing process, which is in high demand in the field of producing composite materials. In order to apply it to toe prepreg manufacturing equipment that requires a solution due to the occurrence of a large amount of defects in various conditions, the optimal environment was first established by selecting cameras and lights necessary for defect detection and classification model production. In addition, data necessary for the production of multiple classification models were collected and labeled according to normal and defective conditions. The multi-classification model is made based on CNN and applies pre-learning models such as VGGNet, MobileNet, ResNet, etc. to compare performance and identify improvement directions with accuracy and loss graphs. Data augmentation and dropout techniques were applied to identify and improve overfitting problems as major problems. In order to evaluate the performance of the model, a performance evaluation was conducted using the confusion matrix as a performance indicator, and the performance of more than 99% was confirmed. In addition, it checks the classification results for images acquired in real time by applying them to the actual process to check whether the discrimination values are accurately derived.
