Manpower demand forecasting in private security industry can be used for both policy and information function. At a time when police agencies have fewer resources to accomplish their goals, forming partnership with private security firms should be a viable means to choose. But without precise understanding of each other, their partnership could be superficial. At the same time, an important debate is coming out whether security industry will continue to expand in numbers of employees, or level-off in the near future. Such debates are especially important for young people considering careers in private security industry. Recently, ARIMA model has been widely used as a reliable instrument in the many field of industry for demand forecasting. An ARIMA model predicts a value in a response time series as a linear combination of its own past values, past errors, and current and past values of other time series. This study conducts a short-term forecast of manpower demand in private security industry using ARIMA model. After obtaining yearly data of private security officers from 1976 to 2008, this paper are forecasting future trends and proposing some policy orientations. The result shows that ARIMA(0, 2, 1) model is the most appropriate one and forecasts a minimum of 137,387 to maximum 190,124 private security officers will be needed in 2013. The conclusions discuss some implications and predictable changes in policing and coping strategies public police and private security can take.
Human trafficking is a booming underground business and is the fastest growing and criminal activity in today's society. The use of coercion or fraud marks the territory of trafficking. Most people trafficked suffer constant threats, violence, and forced acts while imprisoned by their traffickers. Such human trafficking entails significant problems not only for the victims but also for the economies and community health. Large corporations overseas have also been known to partake in the sex slave industry. Another hidden cost to the global economy is the cost of law enforcement and anti-trafficking measures being implemented. Further, sex Trafficking carries many potential health consequences, one of the biggest risks is HIV infection. That means, sex trafficking is an engine of the global AIDS epidemic with one study portraying nearly fifty six percent of all sex slaves having HIV or AIDS. Therefore, many of people are being infected with HIV and many other diseases every day through contact with the sex slave industry costing millions to society and the global economy. in this study, the author presents a case study of trafficking against Nepalese women. Nepalese women being trafficked are found to have a high prevalence of HIV infection. In conclusion and discussion, a few of solutions needed to be addressed for controling human trafficking for sex slavery suggested.
With the government policy on converting contract workers to full-time employees, there have been significant changes about the security personnel at the nation's critical facilities, including the National Assembly Building and airports. Moreover, the scheduled disbandment of the conscripted police force in 2023 has raised concerns about security management at different government agencies. To examine the college students' perceptions on the possible alternatives to fill the expected security gap, 234 undergraduate students of security management and protection in the Seoul metropolitan region were surveyed. Particularly, a comparative analysis was conducted on the legal bases and supervision, the employment types and salaries, and the scopes of responsibility and authority of suggested alternatives were compared. The results showed that utilization of private police forces was thought to be the most effective option. Based on the research findings, the university departments should develop and maintain a quality curriculum to educate their students to be prepared security professionals with a focus on emergency response capabilities and martial arts, including the courses on private police law and emergency rescue and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
This study analyzed the contents of the 225 papers included in Korea Security Science Association during the decade -from 1997 to 2007. This study was classified the study method qualitative. First, characteristic of researchers(distinction of sex, distinction of academic degree, regional distribution, one's position and regional distribution, participants per paper). Second, study trends classified by fields of study(where receiving research expenses support or not, change of study subject). Third, study trends classified by methods of study(study method by year, study method by study subject, statistical analysis by year) were subdivided. Analysis shows that there are some shortcomings on the research of Korea Security Science Association as compared with other fields. However, it shows advanced trends for example participation in different study field, evenly distributed regional study participation, variety trial of analysis method. Then again, the distinction of sex, one's position, too much emphasis on independence research, vulnerability about support of research expenses, emphasis on study fields and study trends wandering from industrial circles are getting deeper In study methods, generalized research form such as document study and phenomenon technical case study is limited so deduction of kernel result is not thoroughgoing enough as well as it shows the trend that limits to duplicate and generalized proposal technic.
In 2015 the Department of Education announced that it will make downsizing efforts by recommending classified downsizing ratio according to the evaluation of universities for active support toward autonomous efforts of universities with the possibilities of reform and qualitative structural reform for customized human resource cultivation according to the social demands. This is the preemtive structural reform preparing against the rapid decrease of the number of students, and the preparation for changing into competitive universities so that customized human resource that is needed in the society can be trained. Security Science Departments of Korea, first established in 1996, need changes in curriculum in order to prepare for the fourth revolution of the future, and are stagnant on the education goal and employment course. Therefore the adoption of related certificates, curriculum, NCS, and professional curriculum is needed. For example, Hansei University, Chung-Ang University, and Far East University have established the Department of Industrial Security, and Kyonggi University and Sungshin Women's University have established the Department of Convergence Security. Also, Konkuk University has established the Graduate School of Security and Disasters, the Graduate School of Information and Policy, the Graduate School of Criminal Justice, Gachon University the Graduate School of National Security, Sungkyunkwan University the Graduate School of Strategic Studies. This shows that the field of Security Science should not settle for itself. This article analyzes current curriculum and subjects of security, police, industrial security, military related academic departments of key universities. It is necessary to prepare for the future by predicting the change from the merge of academic departments and the demands of the times. As technical colleges are adopting NCS, this is the time to seek for systematic collaboration between universities and technical colleges and between industry, government, and academida.
In proportion to the increase of public security demand, the private companies advanced continuously every year. However the size of the industry expanded in its quantity, the quality remains the same as before. So it's important to training of the security officers. This study suggest the improvements of training system through the analysis and the review of problems of training and education security officers. To develop our private security industry, we suggest as follows. First, In spite of the training is important, the recognition against security officers training is low, so the improvement is demanded. Second, When selecting the educational institution, it does not reflect the demand and situation of education enough. So there is necessary that selecting the educational institution again, after finishing a demonstration duration. Third, The education contents is general, so there is a necessity of the education which is professionalized. Fourth, In order to improve the ability of the lecturer, we must strengthen the qualification of the lecturer. Fifth, For the development of securities industry, we must found the professional training institution.
This study aims to analyze protocol & security systems of international conferences such as 2010 Seoul G20 Summit, 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit and to propose Improvement strategies. The results derived from this study are as follows. First, it is necessary to support the establishment of international conference laws. We should select a major agency for 'International Conference Industry Promotion Act', coordinate of the system of international conference laws, resolve potential conflicts, maintain consistent on support organization of international conferences. Second, it is necessary to coordination among different ministries that control security relevant laws. We should solve clashes possibility between a few laws on security system which is closely related to protocol & security of international conference. Third, it is necessary to produce a joint protocol handbook of government for establishing protocol & security system of international conferences. We should try to confirm protocol & security system of international conferences through publishing a joint protocol handbook of government from their own protocol handbook of the executive, the legislature, etc. Forth, it is necessary to build and strengthen expertise of PCOs(professional convention organizers). We should find and assist several PCOs for achieving government policy that develop industrial foundation on international convention and train human resources on international convention expected next generation of promising industries.
Drone was originally developed for air force aircraft or missile exercise shooting targets, and is being considered as the entire unmanned aircraft to the public. The core concept of a drone can be divided into 'unmanned' and 'aircraft'. However, there are many questions about whether the Fourth Industrial Revolution, expressed as a convergence scientific innovation, is appropriate at a time when smart cities are proposed as a concept of new urban spatial formation, and the role of self-driving vehicles, including drones, is being emphasized within the new urban integrated transport system. In this study, the concept of the existing drones was analyzed for the development process, definitions in each country's laws, and the results of the preceding research to present a concept suitable for future society and a unified term. It is not desirable to define a drone for the purpose of a country, an institution, or an operating entity, depending on the circumstances of the era. It is more reasonable to find the concept of a drone based on human life than in the traditional way, and more reasonable considering the development of the drones in the future. Subsequent studies should be more detailed, more data and research results analyzed, and discussed areas that were not covered in this study. Based on this, research should also be conducted on a variety of topics, including legislation, preparation of operational regulations, and related industrial processes and regulations.
The damages from security accidents continue to increase as technology leaks from suppliers cause risks to the management of large companies, which are their customers, and their image and reliability to fall. However, the current industrial structure is practically impossible for large companies to form their own businesses and strategic alliances with business partners are essential, but it is changing into an industrial structure where the exchange of information is increased and the dependence of the information system is maximized, as well as legal demands and demands from stakeholders are increasing due to the complexity of the work process and the strengthening of security-related laws. The status of technology protection of small and medium-sized enterprises shows that they are not equipped with a security system due to relatively poor environment and financial difficulties compared to large enterprises, whereas the industrial structure between large and small business partners is indispensable for sharing the IT system, and the security system of large business, which is a customer company, should be improved by considering the fact that it is impossible to maintain security system between large businesses. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship among customer access service, internal response, and consumption behavior of security agency users through a structural model. The research will be meaningful in that it can contribute to the development of the security industry by identifying the importance of customer access service, which is an empirical face of buyers using security agency, and thus establishing the relationship between consumer reaction and consumption behavior. The study subject is a store that uses security agency in areas with dense shopping districts in Cheonan and Asan of South Chungcheong Province, where 375 store representatives and employees were selected to conduct the research. Research tools were modified and used to suit the purpose of the research based on domestic and foreign prior research. Using two statistical programs, SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 25.0, data processing was performed: frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmed factor analysis, and structural model analysis. The statistical significance level was analyzed by setting a value of .05 and the following conclusions were obtained. First, the customer access service of security agency users has a positive impact on consumption behavior. Second, the customer access service of security agency users has a positive effect on the internal response. Third, the internal response of security agnecy users has a positive effect on consumption behavior. Fourth, the internal response has a positive effect as a medium effect between customer access service and consumption behavior of security agency users.
