Factors Affecting the Intention to use the Favorite Channel Function: Focusing on Innate Innovativeness and Perceived Characteristics of Innovation, Viewing Behavior, and Social Influence (TV 북마킹으로서 TV 선호채널 설정기능 이용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인: 개혁성, 개혁의 특성, 시청행태 및 사회적 영향을 중심으로)

  • Considering the growing importance of TV favorite channel setting function due to the rapid increase of number of TV channels, this study tried to find factors which affect the attitude toward and intention to use the favorite channel setting function. As related theories, this study used theory of diffusion of innovation, channel repertoire, channel changing behaviors, and social influences and suggested research hypotheses and questions based on the theories. After collecting data through online survey of 192 general audience, this study empirically analyzed the data by using multiple regression analysis. The result showed that innate innovativeness, relative advantage and social critical mass affected attitude toward using the favorite channel setting function and that compatibility, visibility, social critical mass influenced intention to use the function.

  • This study measured the effect of PPL(Product Placement: PPL) in OTT(Over The Top) to search a new advertising revenue model according to the change of viewers' video content consumption patterns. On the first, by two research steps, the experiment was carried out using an eye-tracker and then a survey as the second step was administered asking subjects about their attitude about advertising messages, attitude about brand, and intention to purchase the brands used in the experiments. Specifically, the PPL materials used in the experiments were classified with three parts. This study has the meaning as approaching to the PPL research with new methodology by quantitatively access through the eye tracking of the subjects beyond the conventional qualitative measure that depends only on the memory of them. This research aims to find the possibility of indirect advertising as a new revenue model in the OTT environment.

  • The objective of this study is to pay attention to the personal media environment that is in the center of rapid changes in the media industry, to especially explore the activity area of one-person or minority media creators who lead the mobile media environment that could be connected, watched, and produced anywhere, and to closely examine the mutual ecosystem between creators and viewers. Especially, paying attention to the recommendation service YouTube provides, for example, based on the big data algorithm related to users' habitual use, when users' data used are provided more, the users face the advanced service, this study aimed to examine the effects of recommendation service on the formation of trust between user and producer, user flow, and subscription intention, and also to demonstrate the process of forming this mutual relation through concrete data. In the conclusion, implications that can be inferred based on the research results and suggestions for further research in the future were presented.

  • This study was conducted as part of a phased study aimed at closely examining the mutual ecosystem between creators and viewers through paying attention to the personal media environment that is in the center of rapid changes in the media industry and particularly exploring the areas of activity of the single-person or minority media creators who lead the mobile media environment that could be accessed, viewed and produced anywhere. In particular, this study aimed to not only pay attention to the situation in which the potential to expand professional YouTuber areas encounters the changing desire and demand of content service users who continue to become more evolved as time passes, but also examine the influence of the reputation of professional YouTubers on users' loyalty and subscription intention, examine the moderating effect of sincerity on the relationship between YouTubers and users, and demonstrate such relationship formation process based on concrete data. In the conclusion section, implications that can be drawn from the study results and suggestions for further studies in the future were proposed.

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between motivation, reliability, satisfaction, and sustainability of YouTube content and suggest the implications needed for content consumption or production of beauty workers in the future as K-beauty's interest is increasing due to the global Hallyu craze, and beauty industry workers are also watching YouTube hair care content and exchanging the latest trends. The analysis methods included frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multi-recovery analysis. As a result, the correlation between the motivation for content use, reliability, satisfaction, and persistence was shown, the motivation for content use was statistically significant (+) and the impact of content reliability on YouTube content satisfaction and sustainability (a significant statistical+).

  • IPTV와 같은 양방향성을 가지는 방송 시청 환경에서 시청자들이 다수의 카메라로 획득된 다양한 시점의 방송 콘텐츠를 능동적으로 소비할 수 있도록 시점제어 서비스 플랫폼을 개발하였다. 시점제어 서비스 플랫폼은 사용자의 인터랙션에 따라 변화가 일어나는 장면을 저작하기 위한 시점제어형 장면 저작도구와 사용자의 인터랙션에 따라 장면을 재생하는 시점제어형 콘텐츠 재생기로 구성된다. 상기 장면 구성을 위해서 본 논문에서는 MPEG-4 LASeR 표준을 이용하였으며, 장면 정보와 AV 엘리먼트리 스트림을 포함하는 파일 포맷으로 ISO 베이스 미디어 파일 포맷을 사용하였다. 한편 저작자의 의도에 따라 장면을 자유롭게 구성할 수 있는 시점제어형 콘텐츠를 기존 TV 리모콘으로 제어하기 불편한 점이 있으므로, 사용자의 시선으로 장면을 제어할 수 있도록 시선추적 기술을 개발하였다.

A Study on the Effectiveness Measurement of TV Home Shopping Advertising Using think aloud and linguistic Analysis (사고발성법과 언어분석을 활용한 TV 홈쇼핑 광고의 효과측정 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to collect the psychological responses that occur while watching TV home shopping ads in verbal form, and explore the possibility of measuring the effectiveness of TV home shopping ads using linguistic analysis. The psychological responses during watching positive and negative ads of participants(40 housewives and female college students) were collected in a linguistic form using a think aloud and self-report measurement. It was analyzed by KLIWC, a Korean language analysis program. As a result of the analysis, there was a difference in psychosocial variables as well as linguistic variables between positive and negative evaluation ads. Also, various variables of KLIWC were correlated with the variables of advertising effectiveness (purchase stimulus, ad attitude, product attitude, purchase intention) and advertising response variables. This suggests the possibility of constructing a psychological response profile and measurement of advertising effectiveness using language analysis.

  • Despite the fact that Internet users around the world watch YouTube every day, very few users accurately recognize the recommendation algorithm for search results, and Google and YouTube are not disclosing it. Researchers tried to explore the undisclosed algorithm of YouTube in a reverse engineering design method, find key factors, and check the logical structure in which media platform operators recommend keyword search results and arrange them on the screen. Therefore, researchers studied the basic content priority factors through several months of discussion and data collection, and tried to reverse engineer the influencing factors based on the recommendation results according to male and female gender among the collected keyword search results. Although researchers' design only analyzed some of the almost infinite level of data uploaded and viewed for more than hundreds of hours every hour, these exploratory attempts will study media platform algorithms in the future, understand the intentions of operators, and protect users. thought it could be done.

  • Competition in the OTT (Over the Top) service market is getting fiercer since global OTT services enter the domestic market and existing platforms are actively reorganized. As powerful competitors with ultra-luxurious content continue to enter the marke with diversity required by users, various efforts are required for OTT service platforms to prevent subscriber churn in order to generate continuous revenue. Thus, this study tried to examine the effect of OTT service characteristics on continuous use intention through an empirical analysis based on Expectation-Confirmation Model(ECM). A total of 386 responses were collected from individuals who have experience or are currently using OTT service and analyzed using AMOS 24. Results show that content curation, content richness, and audience activity had a significant effect on expectation confirmation. Also, expectation confirmation had a significant effect on perceived usefulness and user satisfaction while perceived usefulness had a significant effect on user satisfaction, significantly influencing continuous intention to use OTT. Finally, price fairness was found to strengthen all proposed relationships. The findings are expected to provide useful information for service and content development for subscriber retention, which has the most direct impact on revenue generation of OTT service providers.

The Effect of Perceived Risk, Scarcity Message in the CATV Homeshopping Ad, and Purchasing Experience on CATV Homeshopping Consumers Response (케이블 TV홈쇼핑 프로그램에서 지각된 위험과 희소성 메시지가 이용경험이 다른 소비자의 반응에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study examines primarily the effects of perceived risk and scarcity massage on consumers in CATV homeshopping. For consumers, the perceived risk is the cause of delaying purchase decision in CATV Homeshopping while scarcity message in the Ad facilitate purchasing intention in the CATV homeshopping. And another important characteristic of consumer which exerts impact on the response of consumer to the Ad and the product is the frequency of purchasing experience. Thus the purpose of this study is to test the effect of 3 factors on consumer's response to homeshopping Ad and product: one is perceived risk, another is scarcity message and the third is consumer's difference in purchasing. And these are defined as independent variables. The responses of the consumer, the dependent variables of this test are measured in three dimensions; 1) the purchasing intention of the product, 2) the attitude toward the Ad, and 3) the attitude toward product of the consumer. 110 housewives are sampled and assigned to 4 experimental groups. All the groups first watched a video-taped homeshopping Ad messages, and then filled up their responses on the administered questionnaire. The results of this study shows as follows: 1) Perceived risk has negative effect to consumer response. 2) Scarcity message has positive effect to consumers response. 3) But especially perceived risk has negative effect to high frequency purchasing experience group. 4) Scarcity message has also negative effect to high frequency purchasing experience group. 5) The interaction effect of perceived risk and scarcity message is most prominent to the consumers of high frequent purchasing experience.
