Market Definition and System Analysis of Paid Broadcasting Services (유료방송서비스의 시장 획정과 제도 분석)

  • This paper defines markets relating to each paid broadcasting service by applying the test method of critical sales loss to the results of survey to the paid service subscribers. The result confirms the existence of a meaningful competitive relationship--in terms of the Competition Law--among all paid broadcasting services included in this study, or at least analog cable broadcasting, digital cable broadcasting, and real time IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) service. This indicates that current regulations which are being applied to cable TV, satellite broadcasting, and IPTV are actually discriminatory. Based on these analysis results, this paper suggests that the main attention for the improvement of regulations should be focused on regulations which are differently applied to different paid service providers. In particular, Article 20 in the Internet Multimedia Broadcasting Law is interpreted as defining the real-time IPTV as an independent market, thereby having leeway to harm fair competition among different paid service providers. Therefore, that article needs to change to give the right of equal access to contents to all the competing paid service providers. Furthermore, to put teeth in the contents equal access rule, most popular pay channels need to be designated as target contents of the rule. As for the market-share limitation regulations, the paper suggests that an upper limit on the market share should be set based on the total number of subscribers of all the competing paid services and the same limit applied to all the competing paid service providers.

  • The purpose of this study is to explain the growth of the business area for migrant workers and the spatial characteristics of the start-up of business, location selection and market area of the employers from foreign countries by focusing on the ethnic networks in Wongok-Dong, Ansan. The results of this study are summarized as follows. The businesses for Chinese workers among migrant workers are located densely and have many kinds of businesses relative to the businesses for migrants from other countries having small number of migrant workers in this area. Moreover, The employers from foreign countries come to Korea through the migrant networks. And they are located in Wongok-Dong, Ansan in which the migrants community is developed. These things made it clear that they regard ethnic networks as important factor for migrant businesses. While the market area of businesses for Chinese workers is restricted to Wongok-Dong or Ansan city, the market areas of businesses for migrant workers from other countries are expanded nationwide through ethnic networks.

  • 고속 데이터 통신 시장은 이미 대규모 시장을 형성하고 있으며, 이에 발맞추어 다양한 형태의 서비스(오락, 멀티미디어 통화, VoD, EoD, IPTV 등)가 상용화되었거나 상용화를 눈앞에 두고 있는 실정에 있다. 이러한 서비스들은 네트워크화된 다양한 단말장치를 통해 이루어지게 되는데, 서비스가 고도화되면 될수록 관련 단말장치의 설치나 유지보수의 복잡도가 증가되며, 이는 곧 서비스 제공자와 서비스 사용자에게 각각 원가상승과 서비스 사용료의 상승으로 이어 지게 된다. 따라서 단말장치의 설치비나 유지보수비 절감이 사업의 성패를 좌우할 수 있으며, 이를 위한 다양한 노력들이 진행 중에 있다. 본 고에서는 이러한 노력들의 일환으로 진행되고 있는 몇 가지 표준들에 대해 서술하고, 이들을 기반으로 하는 디지털 홈 관리방안에 대해 논하고자 한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 신차개발 과정에서 공급업체의 조기참여 프로그램을 통한 자동차용 강판 제조업체의 기술혁신에 대해 고려하기로 한다. 먼저, 치열한 경쟁 하에 놓인 자동차용 강판 공급업체의 생존전략으로 자동차업체와의 기술적 파트너십의 중요성과 함께 시장을 둘러싼 대내외 경영환경을 분석하고자 한다. 자동차산업의 신차개발 프로세스 단계별 기술적 목표를 명확히 제시하고 차체의 수명사이클에 근거한 최적 소재를 선정하기 위한 조기참여 활동의 필요성을 강조하고자 한다. 또한 자동차용 강판 공급업체의 최적 기술전략 수립 및 방향을 설정하기 위해 자동차용 소재시장에서의 철강재 위상을 제고하고, 핵심 기술목표를 도출하고자 한다. 마지막으로 자동차용 강판 제조업체의 핵심 기술로 고성형성, 고강도강판 및 내식성이 우수한 도금강판에 대해 공급업체의 조기 참여를 통한 기술혁신 과정을 살펴보고자 한다.

An Empirical Study on the Effect Mechanism of Labor Market Structure on Access to Social Insurance (노동시장 구조가 사회보험 배제에 영향을 미치는 메커니즘에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined empirically the effect mechanism of labor market structure on access to social insurance. Data were derived from the second wave of Korea Welfare Panel Study in 2007 with a sub-sample of 3,790 of wage workers. Path analysis and structural equation model were used to analyze the effect mechanism. Findings confirmed the inequality of labor market by revealing high causal relationships among occupations and jobs, size of the firm, employment forms, and income. The results suggest that access to social insurance depends on the structural interaction of labor market rather than on the individual worker's trait. Small enterprises and non-standard employment were indicated as the main element explaining the unequal access to social insurance. Finally this study identified women's experience of intensive inequalities in the labor market status and access to social insurance.

Revisiting Effects of Endorsers' Race on Attitudes Toward Ad and Brand (광고 모델의 인종이 광고와 브랜드 태도형성에 미치는 영향에 대한 고찰)

  • As the Korean market is becoming increasingly diverse, it is imperative that marketers targeting the Korean market understand the consumers with various racial and cultural backgrounds. The current study investigated the effects of the endorser race (White vs. Black) on the attitudes toward the ad and brand while varying the experimental context (private vs. public) and product type (high involvement-rational vs. low involvement-emotional) with White participants. Impression management was included as a covariate. The results showed that when the endorser was White and the product was an automobile, participants indicated more positive attitudes toward the ad in the private context than in the public context. When the endorser was Black, the context had no significant effects on the attitudes. The implications of these findings for the Korean market are discussed.

  • This study is critical research on the forming public opinion of SNS and participation behavior. Twitter is a typical SNS service, free school food and 10.26 re-and by-elections during the formation of public opinion on the impact have been investigated. Formation of public opinion about Twitter's analysis of the first research question, The case of free meals to support the Mayor Oh, rather than against Twitter were influential. 10.26 re-and by-elections Twitter in space, the Park' candidate than Na' candidate has formed a favorable opinion. Power twitterian and twitterian on the behavior of the second study involved analysis of the problem, For free meals, power twitterian were responsible for leading the public opinion. For 10.26 re-and by-elections, Power twitterian were more Park' candidates than Na' candidates. In addition, Park' candidates of twitterians were communicating more. Through traditional media in the process of forming public opinion was swayed by public opinion to the target people simply but SNS age people involved in the production and distribution of the issue and the issue has a leading role.

  • 전력산업 구조개편이 진행된 이후 전력IT 분야에도 많은 이해관계자들이 형성되었으며, 내 외부의 많은 고객들이 형성되었다. 또한 전력시장운영과 계통운영을 위한 IT설비는 고도로 발달하여 손쉽게 이해하고 사용하기 어려울 정도로 복잡해지고 고도화 되었다. 이러한 상황에서 전력IT 분야에 대한 고객서비스를 향상 전략으로 고객과의 최접점에서 고객을 알고 고객을 지원하기 위해 전력IT 고객서비스센터를 설치하여 운영하게 되었다. 많은 예산과 인력이 투입되는 본격적인 콜센터나 서비스 데스크를 도입하기에 앞서 기존의 업무체계와 인력재배치를 통해 전력IT 분야에 대한 콜센터인 "전력IT 고객서비스센터"를 운영하여 효과적으로 고객서비스 요청에 응대하여 고객만족도 향상을 기대할 수 있을 것이며, 또한 여러 조직에서 비용과 인력을 사용하지 않고 쉽게 적용해 볼 수 있는 모델이 될 수 있을 것이다.

  • It has been seriously difficult to create demand of modular construction because Korean modular method has been considered as container house or lightweight steel house. Actually, barrier factor of modular construction for activation was difficult to produce modular continuously in factories based on stable amount of demands. So, this research found successive factors of modular construction and proposed the method of demand creation through a plethora of case analysis by building types. In addition, this research found the scale of modular potential market. Owners will be able to use this strategy that is proposed in this research when they make a decision about construction system. Also, the modular construction can make potential market in Korea. As a result, modular system producer can make their business strategies and make continuous demand by conjugating the method of creating demand for modular construction which is proposed in this research.

Why are Cleaning Workers Precarious? - Subcontracted Female Cleaning Labour and Fictional Korean Social Protection (청소노동자는 왜 불안정(precarious)한가? -하청 여성 청소노동과 한국 사회안전망의 허구성)

  • This study investigates the employment structure and the social safety net experience of the subcontracting cleaning workers in Korea, who have been main targets of the labor outsourcing despite the necessity and permanence of their labour. This study specifically focuses on the fact that these subcontracting cleaning workers are mostly female and in their old age, and analyzes how the combination of their age, gender, and employment structure leads to the (mis)match with the Korean social security system. Case study with in-dept interview method has been conducted to the old-aged female subcontracting cleaning workers in Korea. The result of this study is as follows. It was the income insecurity that led them to (re)enter the labour market, and the cleaning work was the almost the only wage work they could do considering their age and gender. Cleaning workers are mostly employed in the subcontracting company, and thus their labour contracts depend on the business contract period between the original and subcontracting company. Consequently, their employment relationship is mostly insecure unless they are guaranteed employment succession through the collective agreement of trade union. Moreover, it has been discovered that the employment insecurity due to the indirect employment relationship led to the poor labour conditions, low wage, and the exclusion from the social safety net.
