Discharge Characteristics of flat fluorescent lamp with printable MgO layer (프린팅 법으로 MgO레이어를 적용한 평면 형광 램프의 방전특성)

  • 차세대 LCD back light 시스템으로 Xe plasma plat lamp를 주목하고 있으나 자외선 여기 효율이 떨어져 램프의 휘도 및 광 효율이 낮은 단점을 가지고 있어 이에 따른 개선이 요구되고 있다. MgO는 AC-PDP에서 방전전압의 저하, 방전의 안정성, 동작마진과 같은 특성에 영향을 미치고 있기에 이번 연구 에서는 졸겔법으로 제작한 MgO를 프린팅 방법으로 flat fluorescent lamp에 적용하였다. 실험시 사용한 flat fluorescent lamp의 경우 ITO 전극과 MgO layer 그리고 형광체층을 가진 두 장의 유리판 사이에 Ne-Xe기체를 채운 단순한 구조로 제작하였다. 실험은 압력과 방전거리에 따른 특성을 살펴보았으며, 그 결과 MgO layer 채용한 경우 방전 전압의 감소 및 static margin의 증가를 알 수 있었다.

  • 마이크로그리드 또는 발전용 연료전지 시스템과 같이 계통 이상 시 독립운전으로의 모드전환이 필요한 응용에서 과도현상을 최소화하는 Seamless Transfer 기술이 필수적이다. 모드전환 시 전압제어를 유지함으로서 이러한 과도상태를 최소화할 수 있는 간접전류제어 알고리즘이 제안된 바 있다. 그러나 제어기 모델에 의한 해석이 불가능하므로 제어 파라미터 설정이 어려운 단점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 인버터의 모델을 고려하여 제어기를 해석함으로서 원하는 제어대역폭과 위상마진을 갖는 제어기의 게인 설정을 가능하게 하였다.

  • This paper presents and analyzes field test results of E-VSB(Enhanced-VSB) system proposed by Zenith/ATl and adopted ATSC standard. In the field test, according to types of antennas we measured reception possibility, noise margin, ease of reception to analyze performance improvement of E-VSB system at each outdoor/indoor test point. Also, we verify a backward compatibility between E-VSB and conventional 8-VSB system and check selection of test point, and configuration of transmitter and test vehicle. By the field test results, E-VSB system did not only outperform over 8-VSB system at severe multipath environment such as indoor reception, but also verified backward compatibility with it.

  • The HAUSAT-2 nanosatellite which is scheduled to launch in 2008 is being developed by SSRL(Space System Research Lab.). The HAUSAT-2 STM(Structural-Thermal Model) was developed as the first system model to verify structural and thermal design margin. The qualification level vibration and thermal tests have been conducted on STM. This paper addresses the comparison of structural analysis and test results of HAUSAT-2 STM. It was shown that the natural frequency of HAUSAT-2 STM satisfies the stiffness requirements without structural damage in the random vibration test. The assembly and integration validity were also checked out through STM.

  • As high-definition television(HDTV) broadcasting becoming more generalized, there have been many researches and developments about a large storage capacity and a fast data transfer rate in optical disk drives (ODD). Pickup actuators must have high flexible mode frequencies and large gain margins. Flexible modes are caused by the flexibility of moving parts in the actuator and a servo bandwidth is limited by them. As a result, the system becomes unstable for high-speed operations in high density reading and recording. In this paper, we suggest improved modeling method in considering of the bonding layer. And, the flexible mode frequency of actuator is improved by Design of Experiments of lens holder. The Magnet circuit is designed considering the relation with the moving part. Through improving the yoke design, the magnetic flux is changed and the DC tilt is reduced. Consequently, we designed an actuator which has a high flexible mode frequency and a large gain margins.

Spare Representation Learning of Kernel Space Using the Kernel Relaxation Procedure (커널 이완 절차에 의한 커널 공간의 저밀도 표현 학습)

  • In this paper, a new learning methodology for kernel methods that results in a sparse representation of kernel space from the training patterns for classification problems is suggested. Among the traditional algorithms of linear discriminant function, this paper shows that the relaxation procedure can obtain the maximum margin separating hyperplane of linearly separable pattern classification problem as SVM(Support Vector Machine) classifier does. The original relaxation method gives only the necessary condition of SV patterns. We suggest the sufficient condition to identify the SV patterns in the learning epoches. For sequential learning of kernel methods, extended SVM and kernel discriminant function are defined. Systematic derivation of learning algorithm is introduced. Experiment results show the new methods have the higher or equivalent performance compared to the conventional approach.

  • The purpose of this paper was to study how to improve the occurrence of abnormal altitude values of radio altimeter, due to RF interference signals during the flight of aircraft. In flight missions, since it performs a roll-out after several high maneuvers, accurate altitude must be displayed to effectively perform flight missions. Thus, a root cause analysis and trouble shooting were performed for the display of abnormal altitude values of radar altimeters, and a method of reducing RF interference signals by installing an attenuator was examined. Additionally, the verification results for the improvements are also described.

The Reduction Method for Radiated EMI in USB Power Line of Cable (USB 케이블의 전원선 에서의 방사성 EMI 개선)

  • In this paper, we studied on improvement for radiated EMI of USB power line of cable. it is made by using wireless video access point system for confirming the phenomenon of radiated EMI from cable. then, we make sure that the limit exceed through the initial measurement of radiated EMI limit criteria in comparison to about 3 [dBuV/m]~15 [dBuV/m]. after that we confirmed the resonance in power line of cable through measurement of s-parameters. so, we confirmed the relation radiated EMI and power line of cable resonance and we reduced radiated EMI in power line of cable through a capacitor and low pass-band filter using the technique of power networks management. in conclusion, we suggested how to reduce power line of cable resonance applied for the improved method. and we confirmed that suggested reduction method is suitable through testing radiated EMI. the result of radiated EMI reduction limit criteria 40[dBuV/m]~47[dBuV/m] in comparison to about 3 [dBuV/m]~20 [dBuV/m].

  • VSATs(Very Small Aperture Terminals) have introduced new concepts in satellite business communications and are typically used in a star network configuration to provide information directly to the user`s premise. The characteristics of this system are low earth station costs, easy in stallation, compact, and very high flexibility for a varierty of applications (Credit Checks, Electronic Mail, Video Conferencing, Reservation System, Database Inquires, Order Entry, etc.). So, the requests of VSAT service have considerably enlarged. The link design of a VSAT network using Korea Sat. is discussed in this paper. This paper is intended to collect in a convient way the principle formula and reference data necessary to make overall performance calcurations and to calcurate antenna size. HPA power size and link margin of earth stations for satellite communications systems. Generally, because the antenna size of the Hub station in the VSAT system is bigger than the Remote station, the method of power allocations of inbound and outbound carriers is utilized in this paper. The size of Hub station and Remote station are assumed to be 3.7m and 1.2m. respectively.

  • OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) has serious problem of high PAPR (peak-to-average power ratio). Recently, CI/OFDM (carrier interferometry OFDM) system has been proposed for the low PAPR. However, CI/OFDM system shows another problem of ICI because of phase offset mismatch due to the phase noise. In this paper, to simultaneously reduce the PAPR and ICI effects, we propose an A-CI/OFDM (advanced-CT/OFDM). This method improves the BER performance by use of the margin of phase offset at CI codes. Propose system to reduce the effect the phase noise, even though it shows a little bit higher PAPR than conventional CI/OFDM, so we apply the PTS among the PAPR reduction techniques to proposed system to mitigate this problem. Therefore, it improves the total BER performance because the proposed method can decrease the effect of phase noise and get the gain in PAPR reduction performance. From the simulation results, we can show the performance comparison between the conventional OFDM, CI/OFDM and A-CI/OFDM.
