Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the recognition on center-based child care health programs for parents with ill children. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study with convenient sampling method was used and 136 parents were recruited from two university hospital outpatient departments and hospitalized wards, and they completed a structured questionnaire. Results: Majority (57.4%) of parents experienced a leaving work early or being absent from their work due to children's illness. Most dissatisfying factors in child care centers were child health management. Most of parents agreed on the need for a center-based child care health program, and wanted a better management of health care by health professionals in child care centers. Conclusion: These results support that there is a great demand for center-based child care health programs. These special programs are needed for reducing a child rearing burden for working mothers and overcoming the low birthrate in Korea. Health-care programs in child-care settings can help parents meet the health needs of their children while reducing absenteeism from work, thereby contributing to job stability. The purpose of this study was to provide the basic information for developing sugar related nutrition education programs for children in child-care facilities and their parents. The results showed that the total score of parent's dietary attitudes towards sugar-rich foods was 17.94 and the total score of parent's nutritional knowledge was 3.67. A positive relationship was observed among items of parent's dietary attitudes (p<0.01), and some correlations were also observed between the total score of parent's nutritional knowledge and the total score of parent's dietary attitudes (p<0.05 or p<0.01). The total average score of children's eating behaviors for sugar-rich foods was 23.98, and the item with the highest score was 'I often eat candy, chocolate and jelly'. For children, food that received the highest preference was chocolate, and soft drinks received the lowest preference. The most frequently consumed food item was candy or caramel, and the least frequently consumed food item was soft drinks. There were positive correlation among the total score of children's eating behaviors, food preferences, and food intake frequency (p<0.01). When parent's tried to reduce the sugar intake, children's total score of eating behaviors (p<0.001) and food intake frequency (p<0.001) for sugar-rich food was lower. We conclude that parent's dietary attitudes may influence children's eating behaviors, food preferences, and food intake frequency for sugar-rich foods.
The salinity of soups of institutions enrolled at the Center for Children's Foodservice Management was monitored to reduce sodium intake of children by continuously managing salinity of soups provided by children food service. Monitoring of salinity was conducted by a salinity meter (SB-1500H, HM digital) three times in 2016 by patrolling children's institutions for the instruction of public health. The average salinity of soups provided by total children's institution showed a significant decrease in salinity - $1^{st}$ 0.45%, $2^{nd}$ 0.41% and $3^{rd}$ 0.39% - as monitoring was proceeded (p<0.01). When salinity of soups was analyzed according to the type of children's institution, the salinity of national and public institutions showed no significant decrease. In contrast, the salinity of private institutions decreased significantly (p<0.05). Depending on the enrollment of the food service, there was no significant difference in average salinity of soups between large food services, which have over 50 children, and small food services, which have less than 50 children. However, all food services showed a salinity decrease from the $1^{st}$ monitoring to the $3^{rd}$ monitoring. Salinity according to the type of soup showed that salinity of clear soup, miso soup, and stew except beef soup decreased from the $1^{st}$ monitoring to $3^{rd}$ monitoring. However, there was no significant difference in salinity according to the type of soup which can be attributed to a large difference in salinity among the same type of soup. The individual soup showing the biggest difference between maximum and minimum salinity of soup was egg soup (0.62%), potato soup (0.54%), and mushroom soup (0.64%). The present average salinity of soup provided by children's institutions was less than 0.5% which is the recommended standard of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. However, the salinity of soups should be managed within a certain range including the minimum salinity regarding the taste education of children.

The trend emphasizes children-oriented, play-oriented ecological education programs for children's ecological education. And most of these nature -friendly and eco-friendly education takes place outdoors. Therefore, outdoor space planning is important in childcare facilities. This case study aims to analyze the actual conditions of outdoor spaces in daycare centers and to provide standard data for outdoor space planning. In order to provide basic data on the improvement direction and planning standards of outdoor spaces, this present study conducted the composition, utilization status and related problems of outdoor spaces for nature -friendly ecological education in childcare facilities. Accordingly, outdoor space planning for ecological education should consider outdoor space characteristics such as free and easy accessibility between indoor and outdoor spaces, openness of space, flexibility, dynamic/static space, and nature affinity. Therefore, for an ecological education environment, children should be able to freely approach nature and play in the natural environment without any restrictions and artificial controls. Also, in urban areas, natural environment such as parks and open spaces should be considered as outdoor play spaces for children.
