Many agricultural reservoirs in South Korea, constructed before 1970, have become aging facilities. The majority of small-scale reservoirs lack measurement systems to ascertain basic specifications and water levels, classifying them as unmeasured reservoirs. Furthermore, continuous sedimentation within the reservoirs and industrial development-induced water quality deterioration lead to reduced water supply capacity and changes in reservoir morphology. This study utilized Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) sensors, which provide elevation information and allow for the characterization of surface features, to construct high-resolution Digital Surface Model (DSM) and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data of reservoir facilities. Additionally, bathymetric measurements based on multibeam echosounders were conducted to propose an updated approach for determining reservoir capacity. Drone-based LiDAR was employed to generate DSM and DEM data with a spatial resolution of 50 cm, enabling the display of elevations of hydraulic structures, such as embankments, spillways, and intake channels. Furthermore, using drone-based hyperspectral imagery, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) were calculated to detect water bodies and verify differences from existing reservoir boundaries. The constructed high-resolution DEM data were integrated with bathymetric measurements to create underwater contour maps, which were used to generate a Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN). The TIN was utilized to calculate the inundation area and volume of the reservoir, yielding results highly consistent with basic specifications. Considering areas that were not surveyed due to underwater vegetation, it is anticipated that this data will be valuable for future updates of reservoir capacity information.
Objective: With development of the skeletal anchorage system, orthodontic mini-implant (OMI) assisted on masse sliding retraction has become part of general orthodontic treatment. But compared to the emphasis on successful anchorage preparation, the control of anterior teeth axis has not been emphasized enough. Methods: A 3-D finite element Base model of maxillary dental arch and a Lingual tipping model with lingually inclined anterior teeth were constructed. To evaluate factors influencing the axis of anterior teeth when OMI was used as anchorage, models were simulated with 2 mm or 5 mm retraction hooks and/or by the addition of 4 mm of compensating curve (CC) on the main archwire. The stress distribution on the roots and a 25000 times enlarged axis graph were evaluated. Results: Intrusive component of retraction force directed postero-superiorly from the 2 mm height hook did not reduce the lingual tipping of anterior teeth. When hook height was increased to 5 mm, lateral incisor showed crown-labial and root-lingual torque and uncontrolled tipping of the canine was increased.4 mm of CC added to the main archwire also induced crown-labial and root-lingual torque of the lateral incisor but uncontrolled tipping of the canine was decreased. Lingual tipping model showed very similar results compared with the Base model. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that height of the hook and compensating curve on the main archwire can influence the axis of anterior teeth. These data can be used as guidelines for clinical application.

Therefore, it is important to modernize and automate cooking equipment for quality improvement of school foodservice operations.
This study analyzed temperature increase, microorganism changes, and inactivation of pathogenic microorganisms in pig slurry when treated with thermophilic microorganisms in Thermophilic Aerobic Oxidation(TAO) system. An amount of $6 m^3$ of pig slurry was treated in an $18 m^3(3.0\times2.5\times2.4 m)$ reactor for 5 to 7 days in two groups: the control of pig slurry only and the treatment of pig slurry with 6 liters of thermophilic microorganism(Bacillus sp.). To study the microorganism changes in the reactor, the populations of aerobic mesophilic microorganisms, thermophilic microorganisms and general pathogens were analyzed. To study the inactivation of pathogenic microorganisms, the levels of E. coli, Salmonella sp, Crytosporidium parvum and Giardia lamblia were analyzed. The temperature inside the reactor ranged from 18 to $62^{\circ}C$ for the control while far the treatment group it ranged from 18 to $66^{\circ}C$, showing a slightly higher array. With regard to changes in microorganisms, both mesophilic and thermophilic organisms decreased from $3.1\times10^6$ to $1.2\times10^2$ CFU/ml and from $1.0\times10^4$ to $8.0\times10^1$ CFU/ml, respectively, in the control. In the treatment, on the other hand, mesophilic organisms decreased from $3.0\times10^8$ CFU/ml to $8.6\times10^5$ CFU/ml while thermophilic organisms increased sharply from $2.0\times10^6$ to $1.2\times10^8$ CFU/ml. For pathogens, Salmonella and Giardia were not detected either before or after the treatment, while E. coli and C. parvum were found to be $10^5$ CFU/ml each before treatment and negative after it. From this experiment, it was concluded that thermophilic microorganisms could effectively sanitize liquid compost by generating high temperature in the TAO system, which in turn would inhibit the growth of pathogenic organisms.

This paper presents a methodology on the backward path tracking control of a trailer type robot which consists of two parts: a tractor and a trailer. It is difficult to control the motion of a trailer vehicle since its dynamics is non-holonomic. Therefore, in this paper, the modeling and parameter estimation of the system using a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA) is proposed and a backward path tracking control algorithm is then obtained based on the linearized model. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
In order to investigate the storage period of packed chicken meat in relation to the bacterial contamination of each processing part, a special grade poultry processing plant located at Dongdoochun-City, Gyeonggi-Do, was surveyed mainly in point of sanitary conditions. The results are summarized as follows. 1. processing room near reception and packing room next to shipping area showed the highest bacterial counts in air. 2. Equipments and instruments for slaughtering also showed a high degree of bacterial contamination even before the operation. This finding suggested that the possibility of the bacterial contamination of carcasses through equipments and instruments would be high, if the continuous sanitary control measures are not properly taken. 3. The bacterial count of scalding water was 3${\times}$10$\^$7/ for standard plate count and 4${\times}$10$\^$5/ for most probable number of coliform bacteria at 1 hour after the start of operation. These values were maintained until the completion of processing. 4. At the ending of chilling process, the bacterial counts of chilling water were 3.3 ${\times}$10$^4$ and 3.0${\times}$10$^3$for standard plate count, when the volume of water used per bird were 21 and 51, respectively. Bacterial contamination was further decreased about 10$\^$-3/-10$\^$-4/ times as the effective chlorine concentration in chilling water was maintained about 50 ppm. 5. An average standard plate count of the residual water In abdominal cavity of carcasses was 3.9${\times}$10$^4$immediate after chilling, however, it increased to 4.7${\times}$10$\^$7/ when the carcasses were packed and stored for 10 days at 4$^{\circ}C$. off-odour development was observed as the bacterial count was not less than 10$\^$6//$m\ell$ of the residual water of the packed carcasses. Data indicated that if the standard plate count of the residual water in abdominal cavity of carcasses was not less than l0$^4$immediate after chilling, the packed chicken meat would not be stored longer than 5 days at 4$^{\circ}C$.

The nutrient recovery in phosphate crystallization process was investigated by using laboratory scale uptlow reactors, adopting sequencing batch type configuration. The industrial waste lime was used as potential cation source with magnesium salt($MgCl_2$) as control. The research was focused on its successful application in a novel integrated sludge treatment process, which is comprised of a high performance fermenter followed by a crystallization reactor. In the struvite precipitation test using synthetic wastewater first, which has the similar characteristics with the real fermentation effluent, the considerable nutrient removal(about 60%) in both ammonia and phosphate was observed within $0.5{\sim}1$ hr of retention time. The results also revealed that a minor amount(<5%) of ammonia stripping naturally occurred due to the alkaline(pH 9) characteristic in feed substrate. Stripping of $CO_2$ by air did not increase the struvite precipitation rate but it led to increased ammonia removal. In the second experiment using the fermentation effluent, the optimal dosage of magnesium salt for struvite precipitation was 0.86 g Mg $g^{-1}$ P, similar to the mass ratio of the struvite. The optimal dosage of waste lime was 0.3 g $L^{-1}$, resulting in 80% of $NH_4-N$ and 41% of $PO_4-P$ removal, at about 3 hrs of retention time. In the microscopic analysis, amorphous crystals were mainly observed in the settled solids with waste lime but prism-like crystals were observed with magnesium salt. Based on mass balance analysis for an integrated sludge treatment process(fermenter followed by crystallization reactor) for full-scale application(treatment capacity Q=158,880 $m^3\;d^{-1}$), nutrient recycle loading from the crystallization reactor effluent to the main liquid stream would be significantly reduced(0.13 g N and 0.19 g P per $m^3$ of wastewater, respectively). The results of the experiment reveal therefore that the reuse of waste lime, already an industrial waste, in a nutrient recovery system has various advantages such as higher economical benefits and sustainable treatment of the industrial waste.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the trends and patterns of variou kind of water uses in a household by metering in Korea. Water use components are classified by toilet, washbowl, bathing, laundry, kitchen, etc. Flow meters are installed in 146 household selected by sampling in all around Korea. The data are gathered by web-based data collection system from the year 2002 to 2006, considering pre-investigated data such as occupation, revenue, family members, housing types, age, floor area, water saving devices, education, etc. Reliable data are selected by upper fence method for each observed water use component and statistical characteristics are estimated for each residential type to determine liter per capita per day. Estimated domestic per capita day show an indoor water use with the range from $150{\ell}pcd$ to $169{\ell}pcd$ for each housing type as the order of high rise apartment, multi-house, and single house. As the order of consuming amount among water use components, it is investigated that toilet($38.5{\ell}pcd$) is the first, and the second is laundry water($30.8{\ell}pcd$), the third is kitchen($28.4{\ell}pcd$), the fourth is bathtub($24.7{\ell}pcd$), the next is washbowl($15.4{\ell}pcd$). The results are compared with water uses in U.K. and U.S. As life style has been changed into western style, pattern of water use in Korea is tend to be similar with the U.S. water use pattern. Compared with the surveying results by Bradley, on 1985. Thirty liter of total use increased with the advancement of economic level, and a little change of water use pattern can be found. Especially, toilet water take almost half part of total water use and laundry water shows lowest as 11% in surveying at the year of 1985. But, this study shows that 39 liter, 28% of toilet water, has been decreased by the spread of saving devices and campaign. It is supposed that the spread large sized laundry machine make by-hand laundry has been decreased and water use increased. Unit water amount of each end-use in household can be applied to design factor for water and wastewater facilities, and it play a role as information in establishing water demand forecasting and conservation policy.
This study was conducted to develope the new solid separating system which can be efficiently and economically removed the solid parts in high pollutants concentration of pig slurry. The pollutants concentration, BOD$_{5}$ , COD and SS of the slurry used in this study was 15,990($\pm$2,389)mg/l, 20,004($\pm$5,512)mg/l and 26,486($\pm$5,935)mg/l, respectively. After removal of solid part in slurry, the pollutants concentration, BOD$_{5}$, COD and SS was change into 5,617($\pm$690)mg/l, 5,553($\pm$633)mg/land 1,456($\pm$341)mg/l, respectively in the Fixed biological membrane tank. The reduction of the pollutants concentration of suspend liquid through membrane will be allowed to greatly improve the water purification by an Activated sludge method. This separating system consisted of a temporary storage, a circulating tank and a Fixed Biological membrane tank. A temporary storage which has a draining system of screw type and an aeration device played a tremendous role in draining the solid by filled an aeration of 0.3 l/min. A Fixed Biological membrane tank of which a styrofoam filled in a 2/3 volume as a Biological media was fixed by a stainless steel net (pore size : 0.5mm) to separate the liquid layer of influx in them. The separating system efficiency factors were the speed of screw motor, cycle number of slurries in a circulating tank and moisture contents of solid effluent through the screw path. Although the pollutants concentration was very variable in temporary storage, the final concentration of $BOD_5$ and SS, except COD of the suspended liquid in a Fixed biological membrane were not different regardless of cycle number of a circulating tank. Moisture contents of effluent from temporary storage was 73% under the speed 1 ppm of screw motor and 62% under the 1/4rpm of it.
