NO Formation in Partially Premixed Counterflow Flames;Comparison of Computed and PLIF Results (부분예혼합 대향류 화염에서의 NO 생성특징;수치해석 및 PLIF 결과 비교)

  • OH radical and NO distributions have been measured in methane/air partially premixed counterflow flames(${\alpha}$=1.0, 0.8, 0.6) using PLIF technique. The results are discussed and compared with the numerical analysis results obtained under the same flame conditions. Measured OH and NO LIF signals agree with the computed concentration distributions. Both numerical and experimental results indicate that the structural change in a flame alters the NO formation characteristics of a partially premixed counterflow flame. The nitrogen dilution also changes flame structure, temperature and OH radical distributions and results in the decreased NO concentrations in a flame. The levels of decrease in NO concentrations, however, depends on the premixedness(${\alpha}$) of a flame. The larger change in the flame structure and NO concentrations have been observed in a premixed flame($\alpha$=1.0), which implies that the premixedness is likely to be a factor in the dilution effect on NO formation of a flame.

  • This paper describes a trans-admittance scanner for breast cancer detection. A FPGA-based sinusoidal waveform generator produces a constant voltage. The voltage is applied between a hand-held electrode and a scan probe placed on the breast. The scan probe contains an 8x8 array of electrodes that are kept at the ground potential. Multi-channel precision digital ammeters using the phase-sensitive demodulation technique were developed to measure the exit current from each electrode in the array. Different regions of the breast are scanned by moving the probe on the breast. We could get trans-admittance images of resistor and saline phantoms with an anomaly inside. The images provided the information on the depth and location of the anomaly. In future studies, we need to improve the accuracy through a better calibration method. We plan to test the scanner's ability to detect a cancer lesion inside the human breast.

Evaluation on Organ Dose and Image Quality by Changing kVp and Ion Chamber Combination while Taking Digital Chest Lateral Decubitus PA Projection (디지털 흉부 측와위 후전방향 검사 시 Ion chamber조합 설정과 관전압 변화에 따른 장기선량 및 화질 평가)

  • In this study, we analyzed radiation dose and MTF with setting of Ion chamber and changing kVp so that we are able to suggest acquiring optimized diagnostic images and minimizing patient dose. we assumed right lateral decubitus position among chest decubitus projection and set 7 combination of Ion chamber. By changing kVp(100, 110, 120, 130kVp), we exposed x-ray five times respectively and calculated average value after measuring entrance dose. we input the entrance dose value to PCXMC Monte carlo simulation tool and calculated organ dose and effective dose. Then we did physical image evaluation with MTF for the purpose to compare image quality. As a result, the high kVp, entrance dose is reduced. As change of ion chamber, when selecting second ion chamber, both organ dose and effective dose were the lowest. In contrast, selecting first ion chamber was the highest. MTF is superior to set second Ion chamber and using 120 kVp. Consequently, when taking chest right lateral decubitus using Digital radiography, the optimized combination which have both reducing dose efficiently without declining image quality and aquring good qualified image is set 120 kVp and selecting second Ion chamber.

  • A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) numerical model has been developed to effectively study the ventilation efficiency of multi-span greenhouses with internal crops. As the first step of the study, the internal plants of the CFD model had to be designed as a porous media because of the complexity of its physical shapes. In this paper, the results of the wind tunnel tests were introduced to find the aerodynamic resistance of the plant canopy. The Seogun tomato was used for this study which made significant effects on thermal and mass exchanges with the adjacent air as well as internal airflow resistance. With the main factors of wind speed, static pressure, and density of plant canopy, the aerodynamic resistance factor was statically found. It was finally found to be 0.26 which will be used later as an input data of the CFD model. Moreover, the experimental procedure of how to find the aerodynamic resistance of various plants using, wind tunnel was established through this study.

A Study on the Development of Floor-Fixed Standpipe Sway Brace for Narrow Space (협소공간전용 바닥고정형 입상관 흔들림방지버팀대 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes a solution to the problems of constructing and installing sway braces for existing standpipes in narrow spaces and pits. The study develops a floor-fixed sway brace for a narrow space that can support the ground area under horizontal seismic loads (X-axis, Y-axis) as well as vertical seismic loads (Z-axis). The results of structural analysis using SolidWorks simulation showed that the eccentric load was generated in the first design according to the anchored position along the vertical direction, and the problem of exceeding the allowable stress of the material along the horizontal and vertical directions. In the second design model, deformation caused by the eccentric load along the vertical direction, similar to the first design model, did not occur. The maximum strain rate was 0.17%, which is approximately 12.84% less than the first design model (Maximum strain rate of 13.01%). It was confirmed that the structural stability and durability improved. Compressive and tensile load testing of the prototypes showed that all of them meet the performance criteria of the standard.

  • 구조물의 동적부하에 대한 동적변형 응답을 정확히 예측하고, Over Design이나 Under Design이 아닌 합리적인 설계방안의 개발은 중요한 과제이다. 동적강도해석이나 소음 승차감과 같은 진동 및 충격에 기인하는 제반 문제를 복잡한 구조물을 대상으로 합리적으로 처리하기 위한 Dynamic Design Analysis는 높은 신뢰성의 추구와 더불어 필요불가결한 기술이 되고 있다. 동적해석 방법으로는 현재 유한요소법이 널리 사용되고 있으며 여러 종류의 범용 프로그램들이 보급되어 있는 실정이다. 그러나 특히 동적문제에 있어서는 형상이나 거동이 복잡한 구조물의 경우, 또는 차량의 차체와 같이 많은 장착물이 부착된 경우에는 유한요소법의 적용이 곤란하여, 지금까지 대처할 수 있는 유용한 방법이 없었다. 따라서 비교적 용이하고 간단하게 적용가능한 진동실험을 기초로 한 구조물의 동적 응답해석 및 설계 방안의 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 진동시험으로 얻어진 부분구조물의 응답특성과 결합특성으로부터 결합 후의 응답특성을 예측할 수 있는 방법을 전달함수합성이론을 기초로하여 프로그래밍 package화 한다. 그리고 평판구조물에 대하여 진동시험과 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 개발된 방법의 타당성을 검증한다. 또한 실제 차량에서 차체만의 진동시험과 엔진의 자유진동시험에 의한 시험데이터로부터 차체와 엔진이 마운트 결합된 후의 진동특성을 예측한다. 진동시험시에 입력과 출력에 노이즈가 필연적으로 혼입되어 주파수응답함수의 크기(magnitude)와 위상(phase)을 왜곡시킨다. 특히 위상의 왜곡은 복소수연산을 하는 전달함수합성법의 결과에 중요한 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 데이타 획득시 입력과 출력의 시간지연으로 생기는 위상왜곡을 보정하는 방법을 제시하고, 그 개선 정도를 조사한다.는 소견의 확실도로서 가능성을 표현한 것이다. 예를 들면, 진동진폭 스펙트럼상에 2X 성분이 상당히 크게 나타나 정렬불량의 가능성이 0.7 정도라고 판정하는 것 등은 이러한 수치적진리치를 이용하는 방법이다. 그러나 상기의 수치적 표현만으로는 확실도를 한개의 수치로서 대표하게 하는 것은 진단의 정밀도에 문제가 있을 것으로 생각된다. 따라서 언어적진리치가 도입되어 [상당히 확실], [확실], [약간 확실] 등의 언어적인 표현을 이용하여 애매성을 표현하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 간이진단 결과로부터 추출된 애매한 진단결과중에서 가장 가능성이 높은 이상원인을 복수로 선정하고, 여러 종류의 수치화할 수 없는 언어적(linguistic)인 정보ㄷㄹ을 if-then 형식의 퍼지추론으로 종합하는 회전기계의 이상진단을 위한 정밀진단 알고리즘을 제안하고 그 유용성을 검토한다. 존재하여도 모우드 변수들을 항상 정확하게 구할 수 있으며, 또한 알고리즘의 안정성이 보장된 것이다.. 여기서는 실험실 수준의 평 판모델을 제작하고 실제 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 진동제어 구조물에 대 한 동적실험 및 FRS를 수행하는 과정과 동일하게 따름으로써 실제 발생할 수 있는 오차나 error를 실험실내의 차원에서 파악하여 진동원을 있는 구조 물에 대한 진동제어기술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS. Design of a Radiation Spectroscopy Detector using a Spherical Scintillator and Development of a Radiation Source Position Tracking System (구형의 섬광체를 이용한 방사선 스펙트로스코피 검출기 설계 및 방사선원 위치 추적 시스템 개발)

  • A radiation spectroscopy detector using a spherical scintillator was designed, and a system was developed to track the position of a radiation source using several detectors. The position tracking algorithm was designed based on the theory that the number of radiations decreases according to the inverse square law of distance, and the position of the radiation source was calculated by measuring the number of radiations generated from the radiation sources at various positions. The radiation generated from the radiation source is detected by different coefficients in each detector, and the difference between these detected coefficients varies in proportion to the inverse square of the distance. Geant4 Application for Tomographic Emission (GATE) simulation was performed to verify and evaluate the performance of the designed radiation source position tracking system, and radiation generated from radiation sources placed at different positions was counted with each detector. The number of measured radiations was tracked through the radiation source position tracking algorithm, and the error between the actual radiation source position and the position calculated by the algorithm was evaluated. The error between the position of the actual radiation source and the calculated position was measured as an average of 0.11% on the X-axis and 0.37% on the Y-axis, and it was verified that the position can be measured very accurately.

Ciphering Scheme and Hardware Implementation for MPEG-based Image/Video Security (DCT-기반 영상/비디오 보안을 위한 암호화 기법 및 하드웨어 구현)

  • This thesis proposed an effective encryption method for the DCT-based image/video contents and made it possible to operate in a high speed by implementing it as an optimized hardware. By considering the increase in the amount of the calculation in the image/video compression, reconstruction and encryption, an partial encryption was performed, in which only the important information (DC and DPCM coefficients) were selected as the data to be encrypted. As the result, the encryption cost decreased when all the original image was encrypted. As the encryption algorithm one of the multi-mode AES, DES, or SEED can be used. The proposed encryption method was implemented in software to be experimented with TM-5 for about 1,000 test images. From the result, it was verified that to induce the original image from the encrypted one is not possible. At that situation, the decrease in compression ratio was only $1.6\%$. The hardware encryption system implemented in Verilog-HDL was synthesized to find the gate-level circuit in the SynopsysTM design compiler with the Hynix $0.25{\mu}m$ CMOS Phantom-cell library. Timing simulation was performed by Verilog-XL from CadenceTM, which resulted in the stable operation in the frequency above 100MHz. Accordingly, the proposed encryption method and the implemented hardware are expected to be effectively used as a good solution for the end-to-end security which is considered as one of the important problems.

Experiments on An Network Processor-based Intrusion Detection (네트워크 프로세서 기반의 침입탐지 시스템 구현)

  • To help network intrusion detection systems(NIDSs) keep up with the demands of today's networks, that we the increasing network throughput and amount of attacks, a radical new approach in hardware and software system architecture is required. In this paper, we propose a Network Processor(NP) based In-Line mode NIDS that supports the packet payload inspection detecting the malicious behaviors, as well as the packet filtering and the traffic metering. In particular, we separate the filtering and metering functions from the deep packet inspection function using two-level searching scheme, thus the complicated and time-consuming operation of the deep packet inspection function does not hinder or flop the basic operations of the In-line mode system. From a proto-type NP-based NIDS implemented at a PC platform with an x86 processor running Linux, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and 2.5Gbps Agere PayloadPlus(APP) NP solution, the experiment results show that our proposed scheme can reliably filter and meter the full traffic of two gigabit ports at the first level even though it can inspect the packet payload up to 320 Mbps in real-time at the second level, which can be compared to the performance of general-purpose processor based Inspection. However, the simulation results show that the deep packet searching is also possible up to 2Gbps in wire speed when we adopt 10Gbps APP solution.

Design of Double Layer Shielding Structure using Eco-friendly Shielding Materials (친환경 차폐물질을 이용한 이중구조 차폐체의 설계)

  • Recently, a barium(Ba) and an iodine(I) being studied as a conventional lead(Pb) alternatives of shielding material has excellent shieding rate, but the characteristic x-ray photons in the energy range near 30 keV line is released. In this study, with bismuth oxide(BiO) coupled barium sulfate($BaSO_4$) double layer, transmitted spectra, shieding rates and relative weighting rates were evaluated to validate the applicability of eco-friendly double layer shieding structure using monte carlo simulations as a prior study. From the evaluation results, in 0.4mm and 0.5mm thickness of BiO layers coupled with top 0.1mm-$BaSO_4$ layer, the shieding rate showed 1.9% and 3.9% higher than 0.6mm thickness of Pb single layer, respectively. In addition, the relative weight also 28% and 34.5% lower than 0.6mm-Pb in 0.4mm and 0.5mm thickness of BiO layers coupled with top 0.1mm-$BaSO_4$ layer.
