  • 현대의 산업화가 급격히 발전되면서 유한한 에너지에 대한 고갈 및 환경 문제가 더욱 심각해지고 있다. 이와 같은 문제들을 해결하기 위한 하나의 방법으로서 대체에너지 관리 및 서비스의 필요성이 크게 요구되고 있다. 이 논문은 국내 지역에서 측정된 대체에너지 데이터에 대한 실시간 시공간 대체에너지 관리기를 설계한다. 시공간 대체에너지 관리기는 시공간 질의 처리기, 실시간 데이터 처리기, 공간 객체 관리기, 웹 GIS 서버로 구성된다. 또한 주기적으로 측정되는 대체에너지 관련 데이터를 실시간으로 처리하여 시공간 데이터베이스를 구축하고, 웹에서 다양한 형태로 정보를 제공하는 기능을 포함한다. 시공간 질의 처리기에서 실행된 결과를 텍스트 형태로만 제시하지 않고, 그래프, 등고선, 지도정보 등과 같은 다양한 시각화를 통한 검색 서비스를 제공한다.

  • 시공간 데이터베이스는 실세계에 존재하는 다양한 유형의 객체에 대한 공간 관리와 이력정보를 동시에 제공함으로써 사용자에게 시공간 데이터에 대한 저장 및 질의 수단을 제공한다. 질의 연산 중 집계 연산은 특정한 조건을 만족하는 데이터에 대하여 계산을 수행한 결과 값을 반환하는 연산으로, 다양한 분야에서 데이터의 분석을 위해 사용된다. 그러나 기존의 집계에 대한 연구는 시간 또는 공간에만 편중되어 시간과 공간 제약을 모두 가진 실세계의 응용에 직접 적용할 수 없다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 실세계 응용들의 분석을 위한 시공간 집계함수를 제안하고, 실제 응용에서의 분석을 위한 질의 예를 보인다. 제안된 시공간 집계함수에 의해 사용자는 응용시스템에 따른 시공간데이터 분석을 위해 간략하고 편리한 질의 할 수 있다.

  • The time information of sptio-temporal data in synchronization system of a mobile environment can be applied according to time data of various kinds. However, that previous data is synchronized related with progress of synchronization operation is a problem when saving the time data of sptio-temporal data depends on the registration time. In this paper, classifies the time used as time data for synchronization data, defines time data model suitable for synchronization of sptio-temporal data and suggests a synchronization system which uses time data model.

  • In this paper, we consider the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) based transmission incoorperating with beam-switching and space-time coding. Specifically, we consider three configurations; (1) the beamforming technique, (2) the spatial diversity technique and (3) their combination and evaluate the performance in wireless personal area network (WPAN) environment. For the beam-forming technique, we consider the beam-switching which is performed at RF front-end with a pre-defined set of beams and for the space-time coding, we consider the Alamauti scheme with antenna selection. For the combined scheme, we divide the antennas used into two group to generate two independent beams and apply the two-antenna Alamauti scheme over the two beams. For these three configurations, performance is evaluated in terms of the SNR gain.

  • According to IASB(International Accounting Standards Board), R&D(Research and Development) is defined as a tertiary sector industry combining research and development. Many studies investigated R&D industry clusters in the form of high-tech cluster(Coe et al., 2007). However, these studies only generalized various spatial cluster of R&D industries. In particular, the studies could not considers cluster formation process over time lacking statistical significance in space-time perspectives. This study, therefore, indicates the limitation of recent R&D cluster literature which only considers either time or space. In addition, this study explores space-time clusters in R&D industry together with textile and cloth industry for comparison. Discovering the existence and location of clusters, this study utilized space-time K function and space-time scan statistics. The result shows that R&D industry presents significant clusters only in spatial dimension. No significant clusters were found in space-time dimension. However, textile and clothing industry presents significant clusters in both spatial and space-time dimensions.

  • Recently, according to the development of ubiquitous computing technology, the efficient management of locations of moving objects is increasing rapidly in various fields. However, MODBMS and DSMS can not support the efficient real-time management of spatio-temporal stream data of moving objects. Therefore, this paper designed and implemented a spatio-temporal DSMS which can support the efficient real-time management of spatio-temporal stream data of moving objects. Especially, to develop the spatio-temporal DSMS, we extended STREAM of Stanford University and used GEOS that supports spatial data types and spatial operators of OGC. Finally, this paper proved the efficiency of the spatio-temporal DSMS by applying it to the real-time monitoring field which requires the real-time management of spatio-temporal stream data of moving objects.

  • So far, significant achievements have been studied on the development of models for spatial and spatiotemporal objects with indeterminate boundaries which are found in many applications for geographic analysis and image understanding. Therefore, in this paper we propose the spatiotemporal data model which is applicable for spatial and spatiotemporal objects with uncertainty. Based on this model, we defined topological relationships among the indeterminate spatiotemporal objects and designed the algorithm for the operations. For compatibility with existing spatial models, the proposed model has been designed by extending the spatiotemporal object model which is based on the open GIS specification. We defined indeterminate spatial objects, such as the objects whose position and the shape change discretely over time, and the objects whose shape changes continuously as well as the position. We defined topological relationships among these objects using the extended 9-IM. The proposed model can be efficiently applied to the management systems of natural resource data, westher information, geographic information. and so on.

  • Most of works have been performed on representation of spatiotemporal objects from various points of view. Most of them represent spatiotemporal objects using approaches from GIS, temporal databases, object-oriented databases or data type. Spatiotemporal objects can be classified as objects whose position and shape changes discretely over time, objects whose position changes continuously and objects whose shape changes continuously as well as position. Previous works on spatiotemporal model have focused on only one of them. In this paper, we propose a spatiotemporal model that can represent three types of objects in Euclidean plan. For this purpose, we represent both discrete and continuous moving objects by defining temporal model extended from valid time and by defining relationship between two consecutive versions of objects. The proposed spatiotemporal object model is based on open GIS specification so that it has compatibility with existing spatial data model.

  • Recently, according to the development of ubiquitous computing, the u-GIS which not only used in u-Transport, u-Care, u-Fun, u-Green, u-Business, u-Government, and u-City but also used to provides various spatial information such as the location of user is being the core technology of the ubiquitous computing environment. In this paper, we implemented an mobile spatio-temporal Query Processing Systems for handling the Spatio-Temporal Data in mobile equipment.The mobile spatio-temporal Query Processing Systems provides the spatio-temporal data type and the spatio-temporal operator that is expanded by the spatial data type and the spatial operator from OepenGIS "Simple Feature Specification for SQL". It supports arithmetic coding compression techniques that is considered with a spatio-temporal data specific character. It also provides the function of data cashing for improving the importation and exportation of the spatio-temporal data between a embedded spatio-temporal DBMS and u-GIS server.

Reaction Research on the Visuospatial Ability and the Situation Awareness of Older Drivers in Driving (노인 운전자의 운전 중 시공간능력과 상황인식에 대한 반응)

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine how visuospatial ability affects the situation awareness for older drivers while driving. For this study, the Rey-Osterrith Complex Figure (ROCF) was used to measure the visuospatial ability of older drivers. The ROCF is used to measure visuospatial construct and memory abilities, and Real-Time Probes were used to measure the situation awareness with UC-win/Road simulation. Sixty drivers participated in this research (N = 30 older drivers, median = 70 years old and N = 30 younger drivers, median = 27 years old). Based on the results of this analysis, a repeated measure ANOVA was used to analyze the effect on each level of situation awareness related to visuospatial ability in driving. The results indicate that the visuospatial ability of older drivers serves as a crucial factor in determining the potential for older drivers to safely continue to drive. The results also imply the necessity of ROCF development to support and improve the visuospatial ability of older drivers.
