An Adaptive Time Delay Estimation Method Based on Canonical Correlation Analysis (정준형 상관 분석을 이용한 적응 시간 지연 추정에 관한 연구)

  • The localization of sources has a numerous number of applications. To estimate the position of sources, the relative delay between two or more received signals for the direct signal must be determined. Although the generalized cross-correlation method is the most popular technique, an approach based on eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) is also popular one, which utilizes an eigenvector of the minimum eigenvalue. The performance of the eigenvalue decomposition (EVD) based method degrades in the low SNR and the correlated environments, because it is difficult to select a single eigenvector for the minimum eigenvalue. In this paper, we propose a new adaptive algorithm based on Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) in order to extend the operation range to the lower SNR and the correlation environments. The proposed algorithm uses the eigenvector corresponding to the maximum eigenvalue in the generalized eigenvalue decomposition (GEVD). The estimated eigenvector contains all the information that we need for time delay estimation. We have performed simulations with uncorrelated and correlated noise for several SNRs, showing that the CCA based algorithm can estimate the time delays more accurately than the adaptive EVD algorithm.

  • This paper proposes a high-precision ranging scheme based on channel estimation technique and multipath delay analysis in IR-UWB systems. When the IR-UWB signal is transmitted and received, the high-precision ranging is estimated with the time-of-arrival information of the signal. In the proposed scheme, the channel estimation process with the minimum mean square error technique or zero forcing technique is performed and the overlapped multipath within the pulse is analyzed with matrix pencil (MP) algorithm to achieve the ranging accuracy of centimeters. The performance of proposed scheme is evaluated with various IEEE 802.15.4a channel models and the relationship between the ranging performance and the computational complexity is analyzed in terms of the MP parameter values.

  • 본 논문에서는 도선의 결함 유무와 결함 위치를 측정하는 방법으로 널리 사용되고 있는 시간 영역 반사파 처리 기법(Time Domain Reflectometry : TDR)의 성능 향상을 위하여 가우시안 형태를 가지는 입력 신호와 상호 상관 관계 함수를 이용한 신호 처리 방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 TDR은 입력 신호와 반사 신호의 시간 지연을 측정해서 결함 위치를 측정하게 되므로, TDR 방법으로 결함 위치를 측정하는데 있어 시간축 분해능의 정도에 따라 측정 방법의 성능이 크게 좌우된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 제한된 시간축 분해능에서 결함 위치 측정의 정확도를 향상시키기 위해 가우시안 형태를 갖는 입력 신호 및 반사 신호와의 상호 상관관계 함수를 사용한다. 한편, 실제 도선에 적용하여 기존의 TDR 방법과 측정 성능을 비교 분석함으로써 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법의 우수성을 검증한다.

  • 본 연구에서는 time averaging과 depth profiling기술을 음향현미경에 적용하여 5MHz 대역의 초음파 영상처리 시스템을 구성하였으며 기존의 피크값 검출기술과 상호 비교, 분석하였다. time averaging기술에서는 한 지점에서 반사된 tone burst파 전체를 디지털 오실로스코프를 통해 시간영역에서 A/D변환하고 변환된 512개 데이터들의 평균값을 취함으로써 영상을 얻을 수 있었으며, 이 기술은 시간영역에서 smoothing효과를 이용하여 산란이 심한 영역에 대한 영상을 개선시킬 수 있었다. depth profiling기술은 기준신호에 대한 반사신호의 시간 지연값을 최소 분해능 2ns로 검출함으로써 샘플의 3차원적인 실제 기하학적인 모양을 상대적인 크기로 얻을 수 있었다.

Investigation of Perfusion-weighted Signal Changes on a Pulsed Arterial Spin Labeling Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technique: Dependence on the Labeling Gap, Delay Time, Labeling Thickness, and Slice Scan Order (동맥스핀표지 뇌 관류 자기공명영상에서 라벨링 간격 및 지연시간, 표지 두께, 절편 획득 순서의 변화에 따른 관류 신호변화 연구)

  • Currently, an arterial spin labeling (ASL) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique does not routinely used in clinical studies to measure perfusion in brain because optimization of imaging protocol is required to obtain optimal perfusion signals. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate changes of perfusion-weighed signal intensities with varying several parameters on a pulsed arterial spin labeling MRI technique obtained from a 3T MRI system. We especially evaluated alternations of ASL-MRI signal intensities on special brain areas, including in brain tissues and lobes. The signal targeting with alternating radiofrequency (STAR) pulsed ASL method was scanned on five normal subjects (mean age: 36 years, range: 29~41 years) on a 3T MRI system. Four parameters were evaluated with varying: 1) the labeling gap, 2) the labeling delay time, 3) the labeling thickness, and 4) the slice scan order. Signal intensities were obtained from the perfusion-weighted imaging on the gray and white matters and brain lobes of the frontal, parietal, temporal, and occipital areas. The results of this study were summarized: 1) Perfusion-weighted signal intensities were decreased with increasing the labeling gap in the bilateral gray matter areas and were least affected on the parietal lobe, but most affected on the occipital lobe. 2) Perfusion-weighted signal intensities were decreased with increasing the labeling delay time until 400 ms, but increased up to 1,000 ms in the bilateral gray matter areas. 3) Perfusion-weighted signal intensities were increased with increasing the labeling thickness until 120 mm in both the gray and white matter. 4) Perfusion-weighted signal intensities were higher descending scans than asending scans in both the gray and white matter. We investigated changes of perfusion-weighted signal intensities with varying several parameters in the STAR ASL method. It should require having protocol optimization processing before applying in patients. It has limitations to apply the ASL method in the white matter on a 3T MRI system.

  • 본 논문에서는 ATSC 지상파 디지털 TV 방송방식을 사용하는 등화형 동일채널 중계기(Equalization Digital On-Channel Repeater: EDOCR)에서의 신호처리 시간지연을 최소화하기 위한 전치등화 방법에 대하여 기술하고 결과를 다양한 각도에서 분석한다. 제안된 전치등화 방법은 기준신호인 기저대역 신호와 복조된 중계기 출력신호를 이용하여 전치등화필터계수를 계산하고 펄스성형필터계수와의 컨볼루션을 통해 얻어진 새로운 펄스성형필터를 이용하는 것이다. 새로운 펄스성형필터의 전치 탭 수를 조절함으로써 시간지연을 최소화하고, 마스크필터에 의한 선형왜곡을 보상할 뿐 아니라, 원래 펄스성형필터의 대역 외 방사 특성의 열화를 최소화할 수 있다. 이를 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 및 제작된 전치등화기를 이용하여 검증하였다.

  • There are many techniques for underwater source localization. These are the methods based on TDOA (Time Difference Of Arrival) estimation. beamforming techniques and high resolution techniques, etc. In this Paper we estimate the underwater source position using MCPSP (Modified Cross Power Spectrum Phase) function that is calculated on frequency domain using sensors of small number. However, the performances of the localizing method based on MCPSP function drops greatly in the case of CW (Continuous Wave) signal . In this Paper we proposed the TDOA estimation method for pulsed CW signal. In the Proposed method we composed of new segment including a edge of ping. This segment was computed by short-time energy detection. With theoretical representation the performances of the proposed method were analyzed under various environment.

Handoff Method Supporting LBS Information in Mobile Clouding Computing (이동 클라우딩 환경에서 LBS 지원 핸드오프 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a handoff method supporting LBS (Location Based Services) Information in mobile clouding environment. In mobile clouding computing, handoff delay and re-authentication is occurred. A mobile node needs re-authentication procedure from cloud server whenever it arrives new AP. But Using of location information of node enables to reduce delay time due to re-authentication. To reduce re-authentication delay time, proposed method stores location information of APs on WiFi based location server to complement. GPS-based technology which can't receive satellite signal in indoor and then node collects location information of AP at handoff time. And also enables to process LBS without increasing handoff delay by splitting the process of handoff from process of requesting location information. For analysis of proposed method, We analyze handoff delay and location information process time and have compared previous handoff method in cloud environment. We confirmed that proposed method shows lower delay time without increasing LBS process time than previous method because node receives location information from location information server when handoff is occurred.

  • 본 연구에서는 도시 가로망에서의 구간 통행시간을 예측하기 위하여 time-frequency 분석의 일종인 웨이브렛변환과 RBF신경망 모형을 이용한 예측모형을 개발하였다. 웨이브렛 변환을 이용한 시계열 자료 분석을 통해서 통행시간에 내재되어 있는 다양한 패턴의 특징을 추출함으로써 오전/오후의 첨두현상, 신호교차로의 현시주기 등 주기적으로 발생되는 요인들에 의해서 통행시간 시계열 자료의 패턴에 나타나는 규칙성을 분석해 내었다. 분석된 패턴정보에 대한 규명은 카오스 이론을 근간으로한 시간지연좌표를 이용하여 시계열 자료의 규칙성을 시각적으로 판별하여 예측모형 구축에 활용하도록 하였다. 또, RBF신경망을 이용하여 예측범위의 공간적/시간적 확대에 따른 모형 구축에 소요되는 시간을 최소화하도록 하였으며, 시내버스 노선의 정류장간 운행시간 예측을 통해서 기존 연구에서 제기되었던 현실세계의 단순화, 다단계 예측시 정확성 등의 문제를 해결하였다. 예측실험결과 웨이브렛 변환을 데이터의 전처리 과정에 삽입하여 링크 통행시간의 패턴정보 예측에 활용할 경우, 기존의 예측모형에 비해서 훨씬 정확한 예측이 가능한 것으로 나타났으며, RBF 신경망은 짧은 학습시간에도 불구하고 역전파 신경망보다 우수한 예측력을 갖고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

Eigen-Analysis Based Super-Resolution Time Delay Estimation Algorithms for Spread Spectrum Signals (대역 확산 신호를 위한 고유치 해석 기반의 초 분해능 지연 시간 추정 알고리즘)

  • In this paper the super-resolution time delay estimation algorithms based on eigen-analysis are developed for spread spectrum signals along with their comparative performance analysis. First, we shall develop super-resolution time delay estimation algorithms using the representative eigen-analysis based AOA (angle-of-arrival) estimation algorithms such as MUSIC, Minimum-Norm, and ESPRIT, and apply them to the ISO/IEC 24730-2.1 real-time locating system (RTLS) employing a direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) technique to compare their performances in RTLS environments. Simulation results illustrate that all the three algorithms can resolve multipath signals whose delay differences are even smaller than the Rayleigh resolution limit. Simulation results also show that MUSIC and Minimum-Norm provide a similar performance while ESPRIT is inferior to both algorithms in RTLS environments.
