Background: The effects of exercise on pulmonary function are complex and have been the subject of many investigations. But, there has been disputes about the effect of exercise on spirometric parameters and there is no study about the effect of exercise on IOS(Impulse Oscillometry)parameters. IOS, a new method of pulmonary function test, is based on the relationship between the pressure and flow oscillation which is produced by applying sinusoidal pressure oscillation to the respiratory system via the mouth. Method: Fifty-nine young adults without respiratory symptoms were divided into three groups according to degree of exercise(hard exercise group: mean exercise time is over three hours per week at least for the last one month, light exercise group : between thirty minutes to three hours, nonexercise group : less than thirty minutes) and undertaken pulmonary function test(simple spirometry and IOS). Results: The effects of exercise on spirometric parameters; percentage of predictive value of forced vital capacity(FVC % pred) was higher in hard exercise group than nonexercise group(hard exercise group: $102.4{\pm}14.8$, nonexercise group: $93.7{\pm}9.9$, p=0.017), but there was no significant difference in percentage of predicted value of forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV 1 % pred) and percentage of predicted value of forced expiratory flow 50% (FEF 50% pred) between groups. The effects of exercise on IOS parameters: Reactance at 5Hz(X5) was significantly lower in hard exercise group than nonexercise group(hard exercise group: $-0.166{\pm}0.123hPa/1/s$, nonexercise group: $-0.093{\pm}0.036hPa/1/s$, p=0.006) but there was no significant difference in central resistance(Rc), peripheral resistance(Rp), resonance frequency(RF) and resistance at 5Hz, 20Hz between groups. Conclusion: Hard exercise increased FVC % pred on spirometric parameters and decreased reactance at 5Hz(X5) on IOS parameters.
This study was carried out to investigate the oxidative stability of oils from peril1a seeds roasted at $190^{\circ}C$ for $0{\sim}50$ min. The oxidative stability of perilla oils increased as the roasting time increased. Oxidative stability of perilla oils extracted methanol extracts significantly decreased. When 1.0%(w/w) methanol and hexane fractions prepared from methanol extracts added to the unroasted perilla oils, methanol fractions showed strong antioxidative effects, but hexane fractions showed weak effects. As the roasting time increased, the browning intensity, fluorescence and electron donating ability of methanol extracts, methanol and hexane fractions increased, and those were closely related with antioxidative effects.

Purpose: Measure gastric emptying time (GET: Gastric Emptying Time) is a non-invasive and quantitative evaluation methods, mainly by endoscopic or radiological examination confirmed no mechanical obstruction in patients with symptoms of congestion is checked. Such tests are not common gastric emptying time measured esophageal cancer patients (who underwent esophagectomy) patients after surgery for gastric emptying time was measured test. And the period of time for more than one year after the gastric emptying time measurement was performed. By comparing the two kinds of tests in the chest cavity after surgery as the evaluation of gastrointestinal function tests evaluate the usefulness of GET, and will evaluate the characteristics of the image. Materials and Methods: 93 patients who underwent esophagectomy with gastric emptying time measurement of subject tests immediately after surgery and after 1 year or longer were twice. Preparation of the patient before the test is more than 12 hours of overnight fasting is important, in addition to the medicine or to stop smoking, and diabetes insulin injections should be early in the morning is ideal to test. Generally labeled with $^{99m}Tc-DTPA$ resin which is used to make steamed egg, seaweed and fermented milk with a high viscosity after eating, three hours in the standing position was measured. Evaluation of gastric emptying curves on the way intragastric radioactivity level by 50% the time (half-time [T1/2]) was calculated, based on the half-life was divided into three steps: over 180 minutes was defined as delayed gastric emptying, within 180minutes was defined as intermediate gastric emptying and when all the radioisotopes were dumped into the jejunum as soon as swallowed, was defined as rapid gastric emptying. Results: Gastric emptying time of a typical images stomach of antrum and fundus additional images appear stronger over time move on to the small intestine. but esophageal cancer who underwent esophagectomy side of the thoracic cavity showed a strong image. Immediately after surgery, the half-time (T1/2) of rapid gastric emptying appeared to 12.9%, intermediate gastric emptying appeared to 52.7%, delay gastric emptying appeared to 34.4%. After more than a year the results of the half-life after surgery, 67% of rapid gastric emptying to intermediate gastric emptying was changed, 69% of delay gastric emptying to intermediate gastric emptying changed. Intermediate gastric emptying worse in patients rapid gastric emptying and the delay gastric emptying is 24% in the case. Conclusion: Esophagectomy for esophageal cancer who underwent half-time measurement test (T1/2) rapid gastric emptying and delay gastric emptying are the result of the comparison over time, changes were observed intermediate gastric emptying. Mainly seeing of gastric emptying time measurement in the esophagus instead of thoracic cavity to check the evaluation of gastrointestinal function can be useful even means. And segmentation criteria and narrow time interval of checking if more accurate information and analysis of the clinical diagnosis and evaluation seems to be done.

Purpose: The objects of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of the dental stone casts made from alginate impressions according to storage condition and stone pouring time. Materials and Methods: Each of upper and lower impressions of dental model was taken. The dental stone models were made immediately, 10, 30, 60, 180, 360 minutes after the impressions were taken at each storage condition. 3D models were constructed by scanning the stone model using 3D laser scanner. With Reference points, positioned on digital models, linear measurements of the dimensional change were compared by 3D metrology software, 3D average models were made and superimposition to identify the specific site of dimensional change and to measure surface deviation (mm). Results: Dental stone models which were made immediately after taking the impression showed the smallest linear dimensional change. As the stone pouring time was prolonged, the linear dimensional change was increased. More than 180 minutes after impression taking, linear dimensional change and surface distortion increased in the posterior molar region, regardless of the storage condition. Conclusion: For the optimum accuracy of the dental stone casts, alginate impression should be poured as soon as possible. If there were a need for storing, a humidor with 100% relative humidity must be used and be stored less than 180 minutes to fabricate the accurate dental model.

The micron-sized ITO(indium tin oxide) particles were prepared by spray pyrolysis from aqueous precursor solutions for indium, and tin and organic additives solution. Organic additives solution with citric acid(CA) and ethylene glycol(EG) were added to aqueous precursor solution for Indium and Tin. The obtained ITO particles prepared by spray pyrolysis from the aqueous solution without organic additives solution had spherical and filled morphologies whereas the obtained ITO particles with organic additives solution had more hollow and porous morphologies with increasing mole of organic additives. The micron-sized ITO particle with organic additives was changed fully to nano-sized ITO particle whereas the micron-sized ITO particle without organic additives was not changed fully to nano-sized ITO particle after post-treatment at $700^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours and wet-ball milling for 24 hours. The size of primary ITO particle by Debye-Scherrer formula and surface resistance of ITO pellet were measured.
The effects of duration and time-dependent, high-intensity exercise on hematological properties and inflammation-related parameters in rats were studied. 20, 60, and 120 min of high-intensive exercise were performed daily for 8 weeks. None of the complete blood count (CBC) factors were affected by the exercise, except for the leukocyte concentration which, in the 20 min group, showed an increase of 47% compared to the control, but this was decreased after 60 min by 30% compared to the control. As exercise was performed for 60 min or longer, serum concentrations of $Fe^{++}$, unsaturated iron biding capacity (UIBC), and total iron biding capacity (TIBC) were significantly elevated in comparison to the control, where 20 min of exercise did not show any change. Both levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, and interleukin-10 (IL-10), an anti-inflammatory cytokine in the serum, were elevated in response to the high-intensity exercise, however the rate of IL-6 increase was higher than the rate of exercise intensity increase, thus the offset of inflammation might be suggested. The concentration of nitric oxide (NO) in the serum became high in response to the exercise. Overall, the current observation suggests that inflammation-like responses to high-intensity exercise might be due to high circulation of blood flow and high oxygen requirement, resulting in systemic damages. However, under the current high-intensity exercise conditions, more than 20 min of exercise might not be suggested for health care purposes.

For the effective utilization of dark meat separated as by-product from skip-jack canning, the dark meat concentrate(DPC) was prepared by removal of extractable materials with ethanol from dried dark meat. Dark meat protein hydrolysate(DPH) was prepared by the hydrolysis of DPC with ${\alpha}-chymotrypsin$. ${\alpha}-Chymotrypsin$ hydrolysed DPC to the extend of 79% during 10hr. The solubility over a pH range 1~12 showed similar trend on the both of DPH and DPC. The highest solubility was 81% on the DPH and was 36% on the DPC at pH 3. The lowest solubility was 65% on the DPH and was 22% on the DPC at pH 7. The content of total free amino acid was higher in the DPC than in the DPH, but the content of total essential free amino acid was higher in the DPH. Especially, the contents of taurine in the DPC and DPH were much higher than those of other amino acids. The result of sensory evaluation on the fish sauce analogue showed good taste, color and odor at the supplemented level of 8g DPH per 100ml of raw solution of fish sauce analogue and didn't show signifcaint difference compared with market fish sauce(p<0.05). On the preparation of surimi gel, 2% substitution of DPH for the supplemented starch was the most appropriate level.
The influence of electrolyzed acid-water (oxidation-reduction potential (ORP): above 1,150 mV, pH : 2.5) on the survival of some microorganisms was investigated. It was observed that the ORP of electrolyzed acid-water was kept at the level of above 1,000 mV for 15 days at room temperature. Escherichia coli. Salmonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae were not detected after 10 to 40 min in electrolyzed acid-water. However, Bacillus cereus showed higher tolerance to electrolyzed acid-water than other test microorganisms. After 60 min of inoculation, only 0.4% of initial population remained. The investigation of surface sterilization effect on some vegetables was carried out too. Total count of cabbage, Chinese cabbage and kale were reduced to below 3% of initial count, and no coliform was detected after 20 to 60 min of immersion in 5 volumes of electrolyzed acid-water. In the lettuce, total and coliform counts were reduced to 90% and 2% of initial population. This study shows that the electrolyzed acid-water has a potential for the sterilization of food products such as vegetables and fruits which cannot be thermally sterilized.

For hazardous air pollutants(HAP) such as NO and $NO_2$ decomposition efficiency, power consumption, and applied voltage were investigated by SPCP(surface induced discharge plasma chemical processing) reactor to obtain optimum process variables and maximum decomposition efficiencies. Decomposition efficiency of HAP with various electric frequencies(5~50 kHz), flow rates(100~1,000 mL/min) initial concentrations(100~1,000 ppm), electrode materials(W, Cu, Al), electrode thickness(1, 2, 3 mm) and number of electrode windings(7, 9, 11) were measured. Experimental results showed that for the frequency of 10 kHz, the highest decomposition efficiency of 94.3% for NO and 84.7% for $NO_2$ were observed at the poser consumptions of 19.8 and 29W respectively and that decomposition efficiency decreased with increasing frequency above 20 kHz. Decomposition efficiency was increased with increasing residence times and with decreasing initial concentration of pollutants. Decomposition efficiency was increased with increasing thickness of discharge electrode and the highest decomposition efficiency was obtained for the electrode diameter of 3mm in this experiment. As the electrode material, decomposition efficiency was in order : tungsten(W), copper(Cu), aluminum(Al).

The purpose of this study is to investigate the residual fluoride concentration of polymer adhesive tape in oral cavity which is made by spraying NaF on PVA base and to compare with Fluoride varnish(Cavityshiled$^{TM}$). Experimental groups were divided into two according to application methods; Group 1(NaF-PVA tape) and Group 2(Cavityshiled$^{TM}$). Topical fluoride was applied to 20 healthy adults aged from 25 to 30. Fluoride concentration in unstimulated whole saliva was measured by fluoride-sensitive electrode for 72 hours. 1. Until 72 hours after application in every group, significantly higher fluoride concentration was shown in saliva than baseline value(p<0.05). 2. At 2, 3 and 4 hours after application, Group 2 revealed significantly higher fluoride concentration than Group 1(p<0.05). 3. At 24, 48 and 72 hours after application, there was no significance(p>0.05). Although the residual fluoride concentration of saliva and the amount of fluoride of NaF-PVA tape are lower than those of Cavityshield$^{TM}$, NaF-PVA tape is considered to be more effective since it showed almost the same result as Cavityshield$^{TM}$. Therefore, NaF-PVA tape is expected to be a great fluoride application material.
