The reuse of wastewater is being diffused to manage and develop the water resources. Generally, the treated wastewater is discharged to the river after being treated to meet the effluent quality standard or reused for diverse uses through the reprocessing. And recently, as the reuse of the treated wastewater is activated, the technologies to utilize for the high quality water resources such as industrial water by reusing the wastewater with Membrane Distillation (MD) are under development. In this study, the direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) process has been applied to treat sewage discharge water for water reuse. The laboratory scale experiment was performed by using a hydrophobic PVDF membrane with the pore size of $0.22{\mu}m$. The influence of operating parameters, such as feed temperature, feed flow rate, feed concentration, on the permeate flux and rejection has been investigated. All filtration tests were conducted till the feed volume reached a concentration factor of 3.0. Thus, the operating period ranged between 19 hr and 49 hr depending on filtration performance. The results showed that above 92% of TN, TP, COD and TOC in the feed could be rejected regardless of an operating condition. The water flux was ranged from 13.8 to 20.3 LMH. The lowest flux was obtained at the operating condition with the feed temperature of $50^{\circ}C$ and feed flow velocity of 500 mL/min while the highest one was measured with $60^{\circ}C$ and 900 mL/min. When the concentration factor reached 3.0, water flux declined by approximately ranged from 14.5% to 33.3%. But the fouling in MD is almost fully reversible, with more than 90% recovery of permeate water flux following a DI water rinse without the addition of chemical cleaning reagents.

Yellowish modified wool, dithiocarbamate(DTC) wool, was synthesized by partial hydrolysis in 0.2 N-NaOH reacting with carbon disulfide to use as ${\alpha}-amylase$ immobilization matrix. ${\alpha}-amylase$ was immobilized reacting with sulfide group of DTC-wool by covalent binding within 1 hour. 0.5 gram of this preparation, $DTC-wool-{\alpha}-amylase$, contained 150 ug of enzyme protein and its specific activity was about 90% of the native one. General properties of $DTC-wool-{\alpha}-amylase$ were a little different from optimum temperature, optimum pH, heat stability, kinetic constants and activation energy. An apparent Michaelis constant and maximum velocity of $DTC-wool-{\alpha}-amylase$ were 5.56 mg/ml and 0.37 mg/ml. $min^{-1}$ respectively, while activation energy was 16.6 kcal/mole.
The reduction mechanism at a mercury electrode of o-cresolphthalexon(OCP) in strongly alkaline supporting electrolytes has been investigated by several electrochemical techniques. The radical formed after first one electron reduction uptake, dimerizes. The result of cyclic voltammetric investigation demonstrated the reversible nature of the electron transfer and standard rate constant was $3.27{\times}10^{-2}$ cm/sec. The apparent irreversible behavior of the second wave is a result of the existence of a fast protonation following the second electron transfer. At low concentration of OCP(< $1{\times}10^{-4}$M), cathodic current were remarkably adsorptive properties. Prolonged electrolysis was carried out at controlled potential of -1.85V, original violet color of the solution becames progressively weaker, and then colorless solution. The final product of an exhaustive electrolysis is electro-inactive. The appearence of four steps may be explained by the fact that the reduction of OCP elucidated ECEC mechanism.

The eletrochemical behavior of light lanthanide complexes has been investigated by several electrochemical techniques in alkaline solutions. The composition of the complexes was determined by spectrophotometric method to be 1 : 1 and reduction mechanism was two steps 1 electron transfer reaction. The half wave potential of first peak depended on pH and cathodic current showed remarkably adsorptive properties. The results of DC and CV investigation demonstrated the quise-reversible nature of the electron transfer. The anion radical formed after first one electron reduction process, dimerizes to form dimer. The apparent irreversible behavior of the second wave is a result of the existence of a fast protonation following the second electron transfer. An exhaustive electrolysis was carried out at controlled potential of -1.80 V, deep blue color of the solution became progressively weaker, and then the solution became colorless solution. The final product of an exhaustive electrolysis is electro-inactive. The appearance of four steps may be explained by the fact the reduction of Ln-OCP elucidated ECEC mechanism.
Background : RANTES is associated with chemotaxis and activation of eosinophils. RANTES is up-regulated in allegic inflammation and play a critical role in the pathogenesis of allegic inflammation. Recently, circulating form of RANTES have been identified in the peripheral blood. Method : In the present study, we measured soluble RANTES levels in 17 patients with atopic brochial asthma (8 patients: early response to allegen challenge, 8 patients : early and late response to allergen challenge) on 30mins, 2hrs and 8 hrs after allergen challenge with house dust mite, prechallenge period. Result : RANTES levels in sera from patients with bronchial astma in prechallenge conditions were higher than in normal control subjects. But, RANTES levels in sera from patients with bronchial asthma in 30mins, 2hrs and 8hrs after challenge were no significantly higher than prechallenge conditions. Conclusion : These results suggest that RANTES plays a role in the pathogenesis of patients with atopic bronchial asthma and may be related to persistence of subclinical allergic inflammation.
Purpose : Development of renal scarring is associated with delayed diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infection(UTI). This study was performed to clarify how soon treatment should be started to Inhibit renal scarring after onset of UTI and the factors associated with renal scarring in children with a first episode of febrile UTI. Methods : We retrospectively reviewed 163 patients with a first episode of febrile UTI under the age of 2 years from April 2000 to Ap,il 2004. All patients had a DMSA renal scan and voiding cystourethrogram done in the diagnostic period, 6 months after which a follow-up renal scan was done. After patients wet-e divided into 2 groups according to the duration of fever prior to start of treatment, the duration of fever after start of treatment, and total duration of fever, initial and follow-up DMSA scan findings were analyzed among the different groups. We compared the factors associated with renal scars between the groups with and without renal scars. Results : The initial DMSA renal scan identified abnormal finding in 23% of the patients who were treated $\leq$24 hr from the onset of disease and in 43% of those with fever more than 24 hr. Renal scars developed in 33% of patients who were treated $\leq$24 hr and 38% of those with fever >24 hr prior to treatment. Renal scars developed in 34% of patients with remission of fever $\leq$48 hr after treatment and ill 50% of those with fever >48 hr after treatment. The risk for renal scars was significantly higher in children who had total duration of feyer >72 hr(67%) than in those with shorter duration(19%). In children with renal scars, VUR was most highly associated with an increased risk of renal scar formation. Conclusion : Although children with a first episode of febrile UTI are treated within 24 hr after onset of the fever, renal damage cannot be prevented completely and it is mainly associated with VUR.
Electrorheological(ER) fluid's storage shear modulus(G') and loss factor(${\eta}$) have been directly measured using small amplitude forced oscillating rheometer as a function of oscillating frequency, strain amplitude and applied electric field. Two types of experiment were performed , (a) frequency sweep and (b) amplitude sweep. Two kinds of sample were employed for this experiment ; cornstarch particles in corn oil and zeolite particles in silicone oil. The storage shear modulus was a strong function of driving frequency. Generally, the modulus increased with driving frequency. On the other hand, the loss factor was not well behaved as storage modulus, but as the driving frequency increases the loss factor slightly decreases was the trend of the material's characteristics. Also the modulus was a strong function of strain amplitude. Generally, modulus decreased with increasing strain, but loss factor increases slightly with increasing strain amplitude. For G', cornstarch in corn oil ER fluid has higher values than zeolite based fluid as we increased applied electric field. On the other hand, zeolite based fluid has higher values for ${\eta}$. There is a reasonable agreement between theoretical calculation and experiment.

Intelligent vehicle plans motion and navigate itself based on the surrounding environment perception. Hence, the precise environment recognition is an essential part of self-driving vehicle. There exist many vulnerable road users (e.g. vehicle, pedestrians) on vehicular driving environment, the vehicle must percept all the dynamic obstacles accurately for safety. In this paper, we propose an multiple vehicle tracking algorithm using microwave radar. Our proposed system includes various special features. First, exceptional radar measurement model for vehicle, concentrated on the corner, is described by mixture density network (MDN), and applied to particle filter weighting. Also, to conquer the curse of dimensionality of particle filter and estimate the time-varying number of multi-target states, reversible jump markov chain monte carlo (RJMCMC) is used to sampling step of the proposed algorithm. The robustness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated through several computer simulations.
This study was to investigate the effect of improve forelimb sensorimotor function and neurotrophic factor(GAP-43) expression when differing an application time of tDCS in ischemic brain injury rat model(pre, $1^{st}$, $7^{th}$, $14^{th}$). Focal ischemic brain injury was induced in 80 Sprague-Dawley rats through middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) by 'Longa' method. And then experimental groups were randomly divided into four groups; GroupI: MCAO induction, GroupII: application of tDCS(10 min) after MCAO induction, GroupIII: application of tDCS(20 min) after MCAO induction, GroupIV: application of tDCS(30 min) after MCAO induction. Modified limb placing test and single pellet reaching test were performed to test forelimb sensorimotor function. And the histological examination was also observed through the immunohistochemistric response of GAP-43(growth-associated protein-43) in the cerebral cortex. In modified limb placing test, groupIII(p<0.05) showed significantly improve than the other groups on $14^{th}$). day. In single pellet reaching test, groupIII(p<0.01) and groupIV(p<0.05) significantly improved on $14^{th}$) day. And in immunohistochemistric response of GAP-43, group III showed significantly positive response than the other groups on $14^{th}$ day. These results suggest that the intensity(0.1 mA)/time(20 min) condition of tDCS application has a significant impact on the sensorimotor functional recovery in focal ischemic brain injury rat models.
