  • 본 연구에서는 한국어 음성어휘의 표상이 음성정보로 이루어져 있는지 아니면 철자정보로 이루어져 있는지와, 음성어휘의 표상단위가 음절인지를 조사하였다. 연구 과제로는 형태점화기법(form priming technique)을 사용하였다. 점화 자극과 목표 자극간의 관련성 수준으로는 음운적 혹은 철자적인 것을 사용하였다. 점화 자극과 목표자극간의 간격은 50msec 이었다. 따라서 SOA 각 점화자극의 제시시간에 50msec를 합한 것이다. 연구 결과는 음운적으로 관련되어 있을 때에는 무관련 조건에 비해 느려지는 방해점화(inhibitory priming)가 나타났고 철자적으로 관련되어 있는 경우에는 촉진적점화(facilitatory priming)가 나타났다. 이런 연구 결과는 시각단어 재인 연구에서도 보이는 공통적인 현상으로 음성어휘와 시각어휘가 심성어휘표상에서는 동일한 형태를 지니고 있음을 암시한다. 또한 음운적 관련성에 의한 방해점화효과는 음운음절을 공유하고 있는 어휘 후보자간의 경쟁 때문에 나타난 것으로 해석되며, 철자관련 촉진효과는 어휘접근 전에 일어나는 과정에서 나타나는 것으로 해석된다.

The effect of LED lighting hues on the rating and recognition of affective stimulus (LED 조명색상이 정서자극의 평정과 재인에 미치는 효과)

  • Three experiments were carried out to examine how LED lighting hues influence to the rating and recognition of affective stimuli. In Experiment 1 and 2, IAPS affective pictures were used and an affective rating(valence and arousal) task and a recognition memory task were conducted under red, green, blue, and white hue LED lightings in Experiment 1 and cyan, magenta, yellow, and white ones in Experiment 2, respectively. In Experiment 3, affective words were used and the same two tasks were conducted under red, green, blue, and white hue LED lightings. According to the results of affective rating tasks, when primary hues(RGB) were used, red LED lighting elicited an excitement at the arousal dimension and green LED lighting evoked pleasantness at the valence one. When secondary hues(CMY) were used, magenta and cyan showed the similar but weaker patterns of responses comparing to red and green. The results of recognition memory task showed that the responses to the picture stimuli presented at green and cyan hue lightings tended to be a bit faster comparing to the stimuli presented at the other conditions but the difference was insignificant. In Experiment 3, however, recognition memory responses to the affective words presented at green hue lighting were faster significantly. These results indicate that warm colors like red and magenta elicit unpleasantness or excitement while cool colors like green and cyan evoke pleasantness or relaxation, and the primary hues provoke more positive or negative affectivity than secondary ones do. Particularly, the result of recognition memory task in Experiment 3 suggests that green hue LED lighting might be advantageous at the memory performance of language stimuli rather than visual ones.

  • 인간의 정보처리 과정의 특성을 알아보기 위하여 반구별로 색채와 단어의 처리과정을 분석하였다. 단어와 색깔이라는 두가지 자극 속성이 있는 한 개의 자극에 대하여 각 자극 속성에 대한 판단과정을 반응키를 이용하여 반구별로 알아보았다. 단어에 대한 판단과 색깔에 대한 판단을 반구별로 분석한 결과, 색깔처리나 단어처리에 있어서 반구간 비대칭성은 나타나지 않았으나 색깔에 대한 판단이 단어에 대한 판단보다 신속하게 이루어지는 것으로 나타나 색채가 단어보다 기초적인 자극 속성임을 확인하였다. 단어와 색깔이라는 두가지 자극 속성을 이용한 경우에 한가지 자극속성을 처리할 때 다른 자극속성이 자동적으로 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으나 그 정도에 있어서 반구간의 차이는 없었다. 그러나 색채가 단어처리를 간섭하는 정도가 단어가 색채처리를 간섭하는 정도보다 큰 것으로 나타나 기존의 스트룹 연구결과들과는 상반되는 결과를 얻었는데 이는 과제의 특성이라는 측면으로 기술되었다. 단어 처리에서 반구간 차이가 발견되지 않은 것은 한글의 시각적 특성과 관련지어 논의되었다. 자극의 한 속성이 자동적으로 다른 속성에 영향을 주지만 그 효과의 크기도 반구별로 차이가 없다는 것은 이전의 반구별 스트룹 효과를 알아본 연구들과 상반되는 결과이다. 따라서 자극속성이 상호영향을 줄 수 있는 좀더 일반적인 상황에서는 한 자극 속성이 다른 자극 속성의 처리에 자동적으로 영향을 주는 효과에서 반구 비대칭성이 발견되지 않으며 스트룹 효과는 두 자극 속성의 관계가 밀접한 특별한 경우에 나타나는 반구비대칭성 효과인 것으로 논의되었다.양 발생과 유의적으로 상관관계가 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 phenol의 종류에 상관없이 식이 phenol에 조직의 항산화(산화억제)를 통해 암 예방(cancer prevention)에 영향을 미친다는 것을 제시해준다.물을 첨가하여 물내리기를 한 후 김이 오른 후 물내린 쌀가루에 15% 이상의 설탕을 첨가하여 20분간 쪄서 만든 백설기가 가장 바람직하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이 실험 중 가장 중요한 조건은 첨가하는 물의 양이 10%이며 첨가하는 당이 설탕일 경우는 김이 오른 후 설탕을 섞어 바로 쪄야 하며 설탕의 양이 15% 이상이라는 것이다. 이 조건은 대체적으로 hardness, adhesiveness, gumminess가 큰 수치를 나타낸다.순구조의 Tonpilz형 초음파 변환기와 비교하여 비록 송파전압감도에 있어서는 약 5 dB 정도의 음향출력의 손실이 불가피하지만, 그 대신 주파수 대역폭을 약 5 재 정도 확대시킬 수 있는 장점이 있기 때문에 이 넓은 주파수 대역을 효과적으로 활용하면 어종식별을 위한 음향산란신호를 정량적으로 수집 및 평가하는 것이 가능하다고 판단된다.n A was 11 ug.이, 0.9 ug/g and 3.7 ug/g in the blood, liver and kidney, respectively.sional-managerial who secure the higher autonomy and stability in their work have the highest life chance in the labor and health, and leisure life

  • This study suggests a computational model to inquire the roles of phonological information and orthography information in the process of visual word recognition among the courses of language information processing and the representation types of the mental lexicon. As the result of the study, the computational model showed the phonological and orthographic neighborhood effect among language phenomena which are shown in Korean word recognition, and showed proofs which implies that the mental lexicon is represented as phonological information in the process of Korean word recognition.

  • The lexical decision task (LDT) commonly postulates the activation of semantic level. However, there are few studies for the feedback effect from semantic level. The purpose of the present study is to investigate whether the feedback effect from semantic level is facilitatory or inhibitory in Korean LDT. In Experiment 1, we manipulated the number of phonological syllable neighbors (PSN) and the number of semantic neighbors (SEN) orthogonally while orthographic syllable neighbor (OSN) is dense. In the results, the significant facilitatory effect was shown in words with many SEN. In Experiment 2, we examined same conditions as Experiment 1 but OSN was sparse. Although the similar lexical decision latency pattern was shown, there was no statistical significance. These results can be explained by the feedback activation from semantic level. If a target has many SENs and many PSNs, it receives more feedback activation from semantic level than a target with few SENs and PSNs.

  • 한국어 CVC 음절의 하위 단위는 초성자음과 모음을 포함하는 음절체(body)와 종성자음(coda)으로 이루어져 있고, 영어 음절은 초성(onset)과, 모음과 종성자음을 포함하는 각운(rime)으로 이루어져 있다고 한다. 본 연구에서는 한국인이 영어의 음절을 한국어 음절 정보처리 방법으로 정보처리 하는지를 알아보고자 하였다 실험 조건으로는 음절체 일치 조건(예, 각-감, cap-cat), 각운 일치 조건(예, 남감, pat-cat), 그리고 두 자음 일치 통제조건(예, 김-감, cut-cat)과 무관련 통제 조건(예, ***-감, ***-cat)이 사용되었다. 실험 과제로는 점화 어휘판단 과제(primed lexical decision task)를 수행하였다. 만약 음절체 일치 조건에서의 점화효과가 각운 일치 조건에서의 점화효과보다 크다면 한국인의 음절분절 단위가 음절체-종성(body-coda) 구조일 것으로 예상할 수 있고 각운 조건에서의 점화효과가 더 크다면 그 단위가 초성-각운(onset-rime)구조일 것으로 예상할 수 있다. 실험 결과, 한국어 음절의 경우 각운 일치 조건의 점화 효과가 음절체 일치 조건의 점화 효과보다 크게 나타나 음절체-종성 구조로의 하위 단위 분석을 지지했다. 그러나 영어의 경우에는 각운 일치 조건의 점화 효과가 음절체 일치 조건의 점화 효과보다 크게 나타나 초성-각운 구조로의 분석을 지지하였다. 따라서 한국인이 시각 단어를 재인할 때에는 언어 특정적인 분석을 수행한다는 결과를 얻었다.

The Neighborhood Effect in Korean Visual Word Recognition (한국어 시각단어재인에서 나타나는 이웃효과)

  • We investigated whether the first syllable plays an important role in lexical access in Korean visual word recognition. To do so, one lexical decision task (LDT) and two form primed LDT experiments examined the nature of the syllabic neighborhood effect. In Experiment 1, the syllabic neighborhood density and the syllabic neighborhood frequency was manipulated. The results showed that lexical decision latencies were only influenced by the syllabic neighborhood frequency. The purpose of experiment 2 was to confirm the results of experiment 1 with form-primed LDT task. The lexical decision latency was slower in form-related condition compared to form-unrelated condition. The effect of syllabic neighborhood density was significant only in form-related condition. This means that the first syllable plays an important role in the sub-lexical process. In Experiment 3, we conducted another form-primed LDT task manipulating the number of syllabic neighbors in words with higher frequency neighborhood. The interaction of syllabic neighborhood density and form relation was significant. This result confirmed that the words with higher frequency neighborhood are more inhibited by neighbors sharing the first syllable than words with no higher frequency neighborhood in the lexical level. These findings suggest that the first syllable is the unit of neighborhood and the unit of representation in sub-lexical representation is syllable in Korea.

Association between Medial Temporal Atrophy, White Matter Hyperintensities, Neurocognitive Functions and Activities of Daily Living in Patients with Alzheimer's Disease and Mild Cognitive Impairment (알츠하이머병 및 경도인지장애 환자에서 내측두엽 위축, 대뇌백질병변, 신경인지기능과 일상생활 수행능력과의 연관성)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to compare activities of daily living (ADLs) according to degenerative changes in brain [i.e., medial temporal lobe atrophy (MTA), white matter hyperintensities] and to examine the association between neurocognitive functions and ADLs in Korean patients with dementia due to Alzheimer's disease (AD) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Methods : Participants were 111 elderly subjects diagnosed with AD or MCI in this cross-sectional study. MTA in brain MRI was rated with standardized visual rating scales (Scheltens scale) and the subjects were divided into two groups according to Scheltens scale. ADLs was evaluated with the Korean version of Blessed Dementia Scale-Activity of daily living (BDS-ADL). Neurocognitive function was evaluated with the Korean version of the Consortium to Establish a Registry for Alzheimer's Disease assessment packet (CERAD-K). Independent t-test was performed to compare ADLs with the degree of MTA. Pearson correlation and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were performed to analyze the relationship between ADLs and neurocognitive functions. Results : The group with high severity of the MTA showed significantly higher BDS-ADL scores (p<0.05). The BDS-ADL score showed the strongest correlation with the word list recognition test among sub-items of the CERAD-K test (r=-0.568). Findings from the hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that the scores of MMSE-K and word list recognition test were factors that predict ADLs (F=44.611, p<0.001). Conclusions : ADLs of AD and MCI patients had significant association with MTA. Our study, which identifies factors correlated with ADLs can provide useful information in clinical settings. Further evaluation is needed to confirm the association between certain brain structures and ADLs.

The Cerebral Activation of the Emotional and Linguistic Attributes during Visual Word Recognition: fMRI Study (시각 단어 재인동안 정서적 속성과 언어적 속성에 의해 활성화되는 대뇌 영역 : fMRI 연구)

  • We examined the cerebral activation of the emotional and linguistic attributes during the visual word recognition. This research investigated the affective priming effect preserving the behavioral paradigm. We used the primed-evaluation task in which the participants classify the target as positive or negative, and manipulated the emtional attributes by emtional relations of the prime-target word pairs(PP, PN, NP, NN). ROIs analyses for the semantic processing and emotional processing were performed. The results showed that the semantic processing areas including the IPL, SMG, and aSTS were activated differently according to the experimental condition. The activations of the IPL were increased only on the NN condition, whereas the activation of the SMG was decreased only on the PP condition. Furthmore, the activation of the emotional processing areas including the mPFC and ACC, was different according to the emotional realtions of word pairs. Similar to the SMG, the BOLD signal of the mPFC was decreaed only on the PP condition, whereas the activation of ACC was Increased only on the NN condition. These results were seemed to show the interact ive cerebral activations for processing the emtoional and linguistic attributes in a word, during visual word recognition.

A USEFULNESS OF KEDI-INDIVIDUAL BASIC LEARNING SKILLS TEST AS A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL OF LEARNING DISORDERS (학습 장애아 진단 도구로 기초 학습 기능 검사의 유용성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine usefulness of KEDI-Individual Basic Learning Skills Test as a diagnostic tool of learning disorders(LD). Learning disorder group consisted of two subgroups, verbal learning disorder group(VLD, n=34) and nonverbal learning disorder group(NVLD, n=14). Comparison group consisted of Dysthymia Disorder subgroup(n=11) and Normal subgroup(n=20). Performance of intelligence test and achievement test was examined in all 4 subgroups. In KEDI-WISC, VLD subgroup revealed primary problems in vocabulary, information and verbal-auditory attention test. NVLD group revealed primary problems in almost all performance tests such as visual acuity, psycho-motor coordination speed and visual-spatial organizations ability subtest. In KEDI-Individual Basic Learning Test, VLD group revealed primary problems in phonological coding process, word recognition and mathematics. For successful classification of LD children, the importance of achievement test and intelligence test was discussed by discriminant analysis and factor analysis. The results indicate that KEDI-Individual Basic Learning Skills is of considerable usefulness in diagnosing LD, but must be used in subtests, and additional tests must be conducted for thorough exploration of LD.
