  • In this study, the density of KS L 5110 was compared with that of gas pycnometer and electronic densimeter for efficient density management of cement, blast furnace slag powder and fly ash. Correlation and usability according to the test method were reviewed, and based on the results of the experiment, the availability of alternative test methods was analyzed. As a result of the density test according to test methods, the density of cement, blast furnace slag powder and fly ash tended to decrease in the order of gas pycnometer, KS L 5110 and electronic densimeter. Because the volume range of the sample to be evaluated is different depending on test methods. The coefficient of determination R2 was in the range of 0.71 to 0.93, and the correlation according to test methods showed a relatively good correlation. If correction is applied through correlation, it is analyzed that alternative test methods can be used. As a result of the usability review considering the test procedure, measurement time and coefficient of variation, the gas pycnometer had the simplest test procedure and good reliability. In addition, it is expected that the reproducibility between the testers is relatively high because the skill is not greatly required.

  • The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs established the FarmMap, an digital map of agricultural land. In this study, using deep learning, we suggest the application of farm map reading to farmland such as paddy fields, fields, ginseng, fruit trees, facilities, and uncultivated land. The farm map is used as spatial information for planting status and drone operation by digitizing agricultural land in the real world using aerial and satellite images. A reading manual has been prepared and updated every year by demarcating the boundaries of agricultural land and reading the attributes. Human reading of agricultural land differs depending on reading ability and experience, and reading errors are difficult to verify in reality because of budget limitations. The farmmap has location information and class information of the corresponding object in the image of 5 types of farmland properties, so the suitable AI technique was tested with ResNet50, an instance segmentation model. The results of attribute reading of agricultural land using deep learning and attribute reading by humans were compared. If technology is developed by focusing on attribute reading that shows different results in the future, it is expected that it will play a big role in reducing attribute errors and improving the accuracy of digital map of agricultural land.

  • Relation extraction is to extract relationships between named entities from text. Traditionally, relation extraction methods only extract relations between predetermined subject and object entities. However, in end-to-end relation extraction, all possible relations must be extracted by considering the positions of the subject and object for each pair of entities, and so this method uses time and resources inefficiently. To alleviate this problem, this paper proposes a method that sets directions based on the positions of the subject and object, and extracts relations according to the directions. The proposed method utilizes existing relation extraction data to generate direction labels indicating the direction in which the subject points to the object in the sentence, adds entity position tokens and entity type to sentences to predict the directions using a pre-trained language model (KLUE-RoBERTa-base, RoBERTa-base), and generates representations of subject and object entities through probabilistic crossover operation. Then, we make use of these representations to extract relations. Experimental results show that the proposed model performs about 3 ~ 4%p better than a method for predicting integrated labels. In addition, when learning Korean and English data using the proposed model, the performance was 1.7%p higher in English than in Korean due to the number of data and language disorder and the values of the parameters that produce the best performance were different. By excluding the number of directional cases, the proposed model can reduce the waste of resources in end-to-end relation extraction.

  • Microstructures of Nb$_2$O$_{5}$-doped UO$_2$ pellets have been investigated during sintering under H$_2$ and $CO_2$ atmospheres. Pellets are sintered at 1$700^{\circ}C$ in H$_2$ atmosphere and at 130$0^{\circ}C$ in $CO_2$ atmosphere for 1 to 41 hr. The addison of Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ causes the formation of large pores, which shrink to some extent in H$_2$ atmosphere but very little in $CO_2$. Fine pores in the Nb$_2$O$_{5}$-doped UO$_2$ pellet are almost annihilated when sintered under H$_2$ atmosphere but little changed under $CO_2$ atmosphere. The increase in grain size due to Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ addition is much larger in H$_2$ atmosphere than in $CO_2$. Thus the enhancement of uranium diffusion in UO$_2$ due to the Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ addition is thought to be more significant in H$_2$ atmosphere. Microstructures of Nb$_2$O$_{5}$-doped UO$_2$ pellets sintered in H$_2$ atmosphere are discussed from the viewpoint of in-reactor performance. Possible defects formation due to Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ addition is discussed to explain the enhancement of uranium diffusion in H$_2$ and $CO_2$ atmospheres.> atmospheres.

  • The assessment of level of health of the tidal flats can be evaluate by health of organisms inhabit the tidal flats. It is possible to evaluate the precise health level of organisms inhabit the tidal flats using analysis of expression of biomarker genes. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the health of the tidal flats on the west coast using biomarker genes such as heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70), heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90), glutathione S-transferases (GST) and thioredoxin (TRX). These genes are stress, immune, and antioxidant related genes that can be used to look at the health of an organism through gene expression. In this study, we collected manila clam (Ruditapes philippinarum) in 8 analysis areas on the west coast. Expression of the genes was analyzed by RT-qPCR method. Results showed that, the expression of Hsp70, Hsp90, GST and TRX genes were differentially expressed in the 8 analysis areas. In particular, the expression of Hsp90 and GST or the expression of Hsp70 and TRX were similar. This means that there is a substance that reacts specifically to each gene. Therefore, I think suggest that the based on the results of physicochemical analysis, it can be selected genes suitable for analysis. These results suggest that Hsp70, Hsp90, GST and TRX were played roles in biomarker for assessment of the health of tidal flats.

  • The global climate crisis and the implementation of low-carbon policies have led to a growing interest in renewable energy and a growing number of related industries. Among them, solar power is attracting attention as a representative eco-friendly energy that does not deplete and does not emit pollutants or greenhouse gases. As a result, the supplement of solar power facility is increasing all over the world. However, solar power is easily affected by the environment such as geography and weather, so accurate solar power forecast is important for stable operation and efficient management. However, it is very hard to predict the exact amount of solar power using statistical methods. In addition, the conventional prediction methods have focused on only short- or long-term prediction, which causes to take long time to obtain various prediction models with different prediction horizons. Therefore, this study utilizes a many-to-many structure of a recurrent neural network (RNN) to integrate short-term and long-term predictions of solar power generation. We compare various RNN-based very short- and long-term prediction methods for solar power in terms of MSE and R2 values.

  • The biodiversity of eukaryotic plankton has commonly been used to evaluate the status of aquatic ecosystems. Therefore, an accurate and rapid method for species identification is needed to reveal the biodiversity of environmental water samples. To date, molecular methods have provided a great deal of information that has enabled identification of the hidden biodiversity in environmental samples. In this study, we utilized environmental polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and constructed the 18S nuclear ribosomal RNA clone library from environmental water samples in order to develop more efficient methods for species identification. For the molecular analysis, water samples were collected from the Seonakdong River (Gimhae Bridge) and the coast of Namhae,(Namhaedo). Colony PCR and restriction fragment length polymorphism of PCR (PCR-RFLP) were then adopted to isolate unique clones from the 18S rDNA clone library. Restriction fragment length polymorphism pattern analysis of the Gimhae Bridge sample revealed 44 unique clones from a total of 60 randomly selected clones, while analysis of the Namhae sample revealed 27 unique clones from 150 clones selected at random. A BLAST search and subsequent phylogenetic analysis conducted using the sequences of these clones revealed hidden biodiversity containing a wide range of taxonomic groups (Heterokontophyta (7), Ciliophora (23), Dinophyta (1), Chytridiomycota (1), Rotifera (1) and Arthropoda (11) in the Gimhae Bridge samples Ciliophora (4), Dinophyta (3), Cryptophyta (1), Arthropoda (19) in the Namhae samples). Therefore, the molecular monitoring method developed here can provide additional information regarding the biodiversity and community structure of eukaryotic plankton in environmental samples and helps construct a useful database of biodiversity for aquatic ecosystems.

  • In this paper, a new audio reproduction system was developed in which the cross-talk signals would be reasonably cancelled at an arbitrary listener position. To adaptively remove the cross-talk signals according to the listener's position, a method of tracking the listener position was employed. This was achieved using the two microphones, where the listener direction was estimated using the time-delay between the two signals from the two microphones, respectively. Moreover, room reverberation effects were taken into consideration where linear prediction analysis was involved. To remove the cross-talk signals at the left-and right-ears, the paths between the sources and the ears were represented using the KEMAR head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) which were measured from the artificial dummy head. To evaluate the usefulness of the proposed listener tracking system, the performance of cross-talk cancellation was evaluated at the estimated listener positions. The performance was evaluated in terms of the channel separation ration (CSR), a -10 dB of CSR was experimentally achieved although the listener positions were more or less deviated. A real-time system was implemented using a floating-point digital signal processor (DSP). It was confirmed that the average errors of the listener direction was 5 degree and the subjects indicated that 80 % of the stimuli was perceived as the correct directions.

  • Sediment, aquifer materials, surface water, and groundwater from brackish Songji lake affected by salinity of seawater, were collected and a pilot scale column experiment was conducted to simulate the nitrogen transport through the hyporheic zone. Upstream experiments of groundwater displayed that groundwater containing a small amount of salt percolated into aquifers and sediments, maintaining low dissolved oxygen concentrations. In addition, partial denitrification occurred in the aquifer due to salinity and low dissolved oxygen, resulting in the accumulation of NO2-. In sediments, nitrogenous compounds were reduced due to adsorption by long residence times or microbial-mediated oxidation/reduction reactions. Downstream experiments of surface water displayed that surface water from the brackish lake, containing high concentrations of dissolved oxygen and salts, infiltrated into the sediments and aquifer, supplying high dissolved oxygen concentrations. This resulted in biological nitrification in the sediments and aquifer, which reduced nitrogen-based pollutants despite the high salt concentration in the surface water. Whereas partial denitrification at low dissolved oxygen concentrations in the upwelling mixing zone was observed by salinity and accumulated NO2-, nitrification at high dissolved oxygen concentrations in the downwelling mixing zone was not significantly affected by salinity. These results confirm that salinity in the brackish water lake has some influence on the nitrogen behavior of the hyporheic mixing zone, although nitrogen behavior is a complex combination of factors such as DO, pH, substrate concentration, and organic matter concentration.
