  • There was known as Wetlands that the area was covered with the water. There are three conditions that is hydrology, soil, vegetation in the study of wetlands. The terminology are swamps, marshes, bogs, fens etc in foreign land. In Korea, there are many names for example mot. sotacji, noup, soubwon, soubji etc. But it should be defined the terminology of wetlands on the interpretation of foreign terminology or the unification of wetlands study inland.

  • To investigate the distribution of vascular plants growing at Wetland in Daegu·Gyeongbook, we surveyed from June 2020 to October in 2021. The flora of wetland was classified as a total of 459 taxa comprising of 104 families, 286 genus, 406 species, 12 subspecies, 34 varieties, 6 forma, 1 hybrid. Among them, the rare plants species 5 taxa, endemic plants 11 taxa, floristic regional indicator plants 57 taxa, naturalized plants 27 taxa and wetland plants 74 taxa were recorded. The percentage of urbanization index was 8.44%, the naturalized ratio was 5.88%, respectively.

  • This study was conducted to identify the community structure of two outstanding forest wetlands in Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, and to investigate their succession trends. vegetation survey was conducted using the Z-M phytosociological method From May to October, 2023, and based on this data, the Actual vegetation map was created by categorizing communities. This resulted in the classification of six communities. namely, Rhynchospora faberi community, Alnus japonica-Molinia japonica community, Ilex crenata-M. japonica community, M. japonica community, A. japonica-Pinus densiflora community and A. japonica community. The results of each layer's importance value (IV) analysis results indicated that in the R. faberi community, that of R. faberi, an obligate wetland plant, was high. In the subtree and shrub layers of the other five communities, A. japonica, a key species in wetland ecosystems, and Pinus densiflora and I. crenata, both obligate upland plants, exhibited higher IV. In the herb layer, the IV of M. japonica, a representative species of intermediate wetlands, was notably high. The results of classifying all observed plant species in the survey area based on their wetland preference revealed that in the R. faberi community, the occurrence rate of obligate wetland plants was high. However, in the other five communities, the occurrence rate of obligate upland plants was predominantly observed. Excluding the R. faberi community, in the other five communities constituting the outstanding forest wetlands, the occurrence rate of upland plants among the forest plants was high. It was observed that M. japonica which typically appears during the transition of wetlands to drier stages, was flourishing, indicating that the wetland was undergoing vegetation succession and terrestrialization.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for preserving forest ecosystem with understanding forest wetland condition of Mt. Cheongok. It was found from this research that vascular plants of surveyed area were composed of 72 families, 167 genera, 209 species, and 2 subspecies, 27 varieties, 5 formae. totaling 243 taxa. Among the investigated vascular plants, Korea endemic plants were 9 species, rare plants 15 species, and naturalized plants 8 species, respectively. According to the occurrence frequency within the wetland investigated, obligate upland plants (OBU) accounted for 75.72% (184) among the total species investigated, wherea obligate wetland plant (OBW) were four species (4.65%). There were 26 of hygrophyte plants and 2 of emergent plants in the research area according to wet degree. According to habitat category, the most frequently occurred habitat was forest (136 species, 55.97%), and the others were in the order of meadow and shrubland (70 species, 28.81%), wet meadow (35 species, 14.40%), and aquatic environment (2 species, 0.82%), respectively. In the result of analysis of important value, Fraxinus rhynchophylla and Carex pseudosinensis was the highest as 22.17% and 10.40%. It was confirmed that the species diversity was relatively high. Shannon-Wiener's species diversity index was calculated as 2.507. Based on these results, long-term monitoring survey should be urgently needed for ecological restoration and recovery.

  • This work was carried out to clarify the subaerial diatoms from Yong-neup (swamp) in Mt. Daeam, near DMZ in Korea from May 1968 to Oct. 1969. These subaerial phytoplanktons live in moss, attaching on moss stems and leaves in air. From this investigation, 18 kinds of subaerial diatoms were identified. Among them, 7 species are known for the first time to occur in Korea.

  • In this study, we surveyed 6 times for the actual vegetation type and flora of Amgok wetland (Intermediate moor area, Alnus japonica community area) and it's watershed area in Tohamsan district, Gyeongju National Park from Apr. to Nov. in 2011. As a result of the actual vegetation type, most vegetation of watershed area was disturbed by human activity except wetland area. Even though the wetland is relatively broad compared with it's watershed, the wetland: watershed is around 1:10. The flora was surveyed 65 family, 184 species, 1 subspecies, 39 variety, 8 forma and totally 233 taxonomic group in the watershed. The wetland type was looked intermediate moor. Naturalized plants was surveyed 2taxonomic in the wetland area and total was17 taxonomic. This area has relatively broad wetland and soundly conserved. But several Salix koreensis and Acer ginnala are growing so needed the interest and monitoring.

  • The moors ecosystem is sensitive environment change and weak in artificial interference. These nature property are very important to people. It is necessary to preservation and protection the moors with a countermeasure. We really need to Environment-GIS(E-GIS) using Geographical Information System(GIS) and digital map including range, correct position and attribute data of moors. In this study, we take priority of making a database of moors management. Taking effect an environment assesment, we concentrate on a standard method of digital map production and a preservation of moors in our research using GIS. Especially, we have to preserve our important national heritage using GIS when Environment Assesment is conducting under construction. We suggest to pre-estimated model of hidden moors as analysing terrain, geological feature, a geographical distribution of plants and animals using GIS.
