A study on entry into the offshore service market through slack model (해양플랜트 서비스 시장에의 진입 방안 연구 -슬랙모델을 이용하여-)

  • Domestic offshore business is oriented toward building drill-ships, FPSOs(Floating Production Storage and Off loading). But the equipments needed for offshore platforms are not so developed in Korea because the equipments can not be verified in Korean territory where the offshore platforms are not stationed. This study aims at finding some methods on entering into OSI for the maintenance and disassembly of fixed offshore platforms. Slack model is adopted to find out how slack assets could play a role in penetrating foreign markets. Firstly, entry into the South East Asian market is recommended. Secondly, forming a consortium is suggested by which taking part in offshore market can be easier. Finally, strategic plans for obtaining the technology for ship building equipments are needed as well as government support.

  • The analysis of human movement requires the knowledge of the Hill type muscle parameters, the muscle-tendon and moment arm length change as a function of joint angles. However, values of a subject's muscle parameters are very difficult to identify. It turns out from a sensitivity analysis that the tendon slack length and maximum muscle force are the two critical parameters among the Hill-type muscle model. Therefore, it could be claimed that the variation of the tendon slack length and maximum muscle force from the Delp's reference data will change the muscle characteristics of a subject remarkably. A numeric optimization method to search these tendon parameters specific to a subject is proposed, and the accuracy of the developed algorithm is evaluated through a numerical simulation.

  • 석탄가스화 복합발전(IGCC)에서 석탄 가스화 기술이 전 공정의 성능에 큰 영향을 미치는 중요한 요소이다. 연료 및 산화제의 공급방식, 가스화기의 기본 구조, 벽면의 구성 방식, 용융 슬랙 및 생산되는 합성가스 배출 방식 등에 따라 가스화의 성능이 영향을 받는다. IGCC plant의 정확한 성능 해석을 위해서는 석탄가스화기 공정 모델의 정밀도를 높일 필요성이 있다. 기존의 열병합 발전 사이클 해석에서 적용되었던 열 및 물질정산과 평형계산 방식을 통하여 석탄가스화기 공정을 해석하는 방법을 확인, 정리하고 이를 개선하기 위한 절차 및 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 가스화기 내부 공정을 크게 탈휘발과 가스화의 단계로 구분하여 가스화기 출구조건을 예측하였으며, ASPEN PLUS를 이용한 공정해석을 실시하였다. 가스화기 출구에서의 합성가스는 주생성가스인 CO, $H_2$를 위주로 하여 조성을 얻을 수 있고, 그 결과들을 선행연구들과의 비교를 통하여 가스화기 모델의 분석을 실시한다. 그리고 가스화기 해석의 정밀도를 높이기 위한 향후 고려될 가스화기 모델에 관하여 논의한다.

Development of the Slacks Pattern for the Elderly Women from 3D Virtual Garment Simulation (3D 가상착의에 의한 노년 여성의 슬랙스 패턴 설계)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop slacks pattern of elderly women aged over 60s by using the virtual twin and 3D virtual garment simulation system. The results were as follows; first, By using 3D Virtual Garment Simulation, new slacks pattern considered elderly women was development. The basic numerical formula were as follows, front waist girth W/4+2+1.5, back waist girth W/4+1.5+0.5, front hip girth H/4+0.75, back hip girth H/4+1.5, front crotch extension H/16-0.5, back crotch extension H/8-1.3, front dart amount 2 and back dart amount 1.5. Second, according to the results of the new slacks pattern's appearance evaluation, it estimated more highly than existing pattern in silhouette and ease amount, confirming that new slacks pattern is appropriate for the elderly women. Also, new slacks pattern was evaluated to allow proper space length of waist, abdomen and hip. Virtual models production through 3D body scan data, pattern draft and virtual garment digital program were applied to prototypic design method so as to enhance the fitness of ready-made garments. The use of the virtual twin made it impossible to comprehend the appearances and ease correspondent to motions. In order to evaluate wearing fitness, therefore, the system should be improved so as to change arm positions and perform various motions.

A Sudy on Fluid Characteristics According to Shape of Coal Gasifier (석탄가스화기의 형상에 따른 유동특성 비교연구)

  • 본 연구는 국내 고유의 가스화기 모델 개발의 목적으로 진행되었으며 다종의 가스화기 형상을 제안하고 전산해석을 이용한 비교검토를 통하여 국내 고유의 가스화기 개념설계에 활용하고자 하였다. 우선 downflow형 가스화기 3종과 upflow형 가스화기 3종에 대한 형상을 제시하고 cold flow 해석을 통한 가스화기내 유동특성과 체류시간등을 비교하였다. 또한 고유모델로의 개발에 적합한 형상을 고려하여upflow형 2종 및 downflow형 1종 등 총 3종을 선택하여 가스화 반응을 포함시킨 hot flow 해석을 진행하고 온도분포, CO 및 $H_2$의 가스농도분포를 비교하였다. 검토 결과 기존에 연구되어왔던 석탄가스기 형태인 upflow형 가스화기 하부에 산소공급노즐을 설치하는 경우 기존에 확보된 기술을 적용함을 물론 슬랙화효율을 높이는데도 잇점이 있을 것으로 판단되었다.

Timing Driven Analytic Placement for FPGAs (타이밍 구동 FPGA 분석적 배치)

  • Practical models for FPGA architectures which include performance- and/or density-enhancing components such as carry chains, wide function multiplexers, and memory/multiplier blocks are being applied to academic FPGA placement tools which used to rely on simple imaginary models. Previously the techniques such as pre-packing and multi-layer density analysis are proposed to remedy issues related to such practical models, and the wire length is effectively minimized during initial analytic placement. Since timing should be optimized rather than wire length, most previous work takes into account the timing constraints. However, instead of the initial analytic placement, the timing-driven techniques are mostly applied to subsequent steps such as placement legalization and iterative improvement. This paper incorporates the timing driven techniques, which check if the placement meets the timing constraints given in the standard SDC format, and minimize the detected violations, with the existing analytic placer which implements pre-packing and multi-layer density analysis. First of all, a static timing analyzer has been used to check the timing of the wire-length minimized placement results. In order to minimize the detected violations, a function to minimize the largest arrival time at end points is added to the objective function of the analytic placer. Since each clock has a different period, the function is proposed to be evaluated for each clock, and added to the objective function. Since this function can unnecessarily reduce the unviolated paths, a new function which calculates and minimizes the largest negative slack at end points is also proposed, and compared. Since the existing legalization which is non-timing driven is used before the timing analysis, any improvement on timing is entirely due to the functions added to the objective function. The experiments on twelve industrial examples show that the minimum arrival time function improves the worst negative slack by 15% on average whereas the minimum worst negative slack function improves the negative slacks by additional 6% on average.

Developing of slacks clothing pattern for the elderly men using a 3D virtual garment simulation system (3D 가상착의 시스템을 활용한 노년 남성의 슬랙스 원형 설계 )

  • This study seeks to increase the satisfaction of elderly men when purchasing and wearing ready-to-wear clothes by designing a slacks pattern suitable for their body type, which is determined by analyzing their lower bodies using virtual avatars and 3D virtual simulation system. The study found the following. First, based on virtual visualization of the comparison slacks pattern, the waistline position was consistently the lowest scored question among the evaluation survey items. Interpretation of this dissatisfaction suggests that, because the front waistline falls below the abdomen, the lower body, and especially the abdominal shape, is unpleasantly emphasized. Second, by using a virtual simulation system, the study developed a new slacks pattern that considered the concerns of elderly men. The primary measurement changes were as follows: front waist girth W/4+1.5cm+0.5cm, back waist girth W/4+1.5cm-0.5cm, front hip girth H/4+2.5cm-0.5cm, back hip girth H/4+2.5cm+0.5cm. Third, the new slacks pattern's appearance was evaluated more highly than the comparison pattern, confirming the new pattern's appropriateness for elderly men. This study demonstrates how slacks and other clothing patterns designed in a 3D virtual garment simulator can be used to design more appealing clothing for elderly men, increasing the satisfaction of wearing ready-made clothes at older ages.

Analysis of Factors Influencing upon the Metro Wear Using the Classification and Regression Trees (CART 분석을 이용한 지하철 마모 영향인자 분석)

  • 일반적으로 레일마모는 열차의 주행안전 및 승차감에 미치는 영향이 크고, 소음 진동의 주요원인으로 작용한다. 또한 레일마모가 발생할 경우 궤도구조의 파괴를 촉진시킴으로써 차량 및 궤도유지보수비를 크게 증가시킨다. 따라서 구간 특성 및 환경 영향 인자 등 현장에서 발생하는 마모 원인을 체계적으로 분석함으로써 마모를 저감할 수 있도록 차량운행 조건과 선로선형 및 궤도구조를 설계하는 것은 중요한 과제이다. CART(Classification And Regression Tree; 분류와 회귀나무) 분석은 패키지화된 좋은 분류 및 예측도구 기법으로 나무의 상위 분리수준에서 일반적으로 나타나는 가장 중요한 입력변수들을 사용하는 등의 입력변수를 선정하는 경우 매우 유용하다. 본 연구에서는 다변수 구간특성 및 환경인자를 고려한 검측 자료 상관관계 분석을 위한 회귀 나무기반 모델(TBM: Tree Based Model) 분석 수행을 위해 지하철 2호선 마모 데이터와 마모 데이터에 영향을 미치는 각종 다변수 구간특성 및 환경인자를 사용하였다. 2호선 지하철의 구간특성 인자 및 환경인자는 레일의 종류, 레일의 위치, 도상, 곡률반경, 캔트 슬랙 및 운행 일수 등으로 구분하였다. 레일의 종류는 ks-50kg과 ks-60kg 두 종류의 레일이 있으며, 레일의 위치는 지상과 지하로 크게 구분할 수 있다. 도상은 콘크리트 도상, 자갈 도상과 일부 구간의 방진상 콘크리트 도상으로 구분할 수 있으며, 곡률반경은 직선구간과 완화곡선 구간 및 최소 250m부터 627m까지 분포된 원 곡선 구간으로 구분할 수 있다. 캔트 간격은 최소 96cm 부터 120cm 간격으로 구분하며, 슬랙은 5~9cm에 분포하고, 운행 기간은 해당 기간 동안 유지보수 이력이 없는 구간을 선정하여 2005년부터 2006년까지 4번에 걸쳐 검측된 지하철 2호선 내선 마모데이터를 사용하였다. 총 X1부터 X7까지 총 7개의 구간특성 또는 환경특성을 영향인자로 선정하였으며, 이러한 영향인자에 의해 결정되는 종속 인자로 Y1인 직마모와 Y2인 측마모를 선정하여 이 중 실질적으로 지하철 궤도의 성능 평가에 주요 판단인자로 사용되는 측마모와 구간특성 및 환경영향인자와의 상관관계 분석을 수행하였다. 해당 마모 데이터가 검측되는 기간 동안 유지보수 이력이 없는 12272 point의 데이터를 검출하였고 CART 프로그램을 이용하여 데이터를 분석하였으며, CART 프로그램의 해석을 위해 종속변수인 직마모량은 각 검측 지점의 마모량에 해당하는 등급으로 변환하여 분석을 수행하였다. 레일의 마모에 영향을 미치는 구간특성 및 환경인자와 종속 변수로 사용된 레일의 마모량 사이의 CART를 이용한 상관관계 분석은 실제 구조물에서 영향인자간의 상관 관계와 유사하며, 추후 연구에서는 이를 바탕으로 하여 정량화된 검측 데이터를 종속변수로 하여 구간특성 또는 환경인자 등 외부 영향인자를 고려한 궤도 검측데이터와의 상관관계 분석을 수행할 계획이다.

A Study on the Model Development and Empirical Application for Predicting the Efficiency and Optimum Size of Investment in Domestic Seaports (국내항만투자의 효율성 및 적정 투자규모 예측을 위한 모형개발 및 실증적 적용에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to show the empirical measurement way for predicting the seaport efficiency by using Super SBM(Slack-based Measure) with Wilcoxson signed-rank test under CRS(constant returns to scale) condition for 20 Korean ports during 11 years(1997-2007) for 3 inputs(port investment amount, birthing capacity, and cargo handling capacity) and 5 outputs(Export and Import Quantity, Number of Ship Calls, Port Revenue, Customer Satisfaction Point for Port Service and Container Cargo Throughput). The main empirical results of this paper are as follows. First, Super SBM model has well reflected the real data according to the Wilcoxon signed rank test, because p values have exceeded the significance level. Second,Super-SBM has shown about 87% of predicting ratio for the ports efficiency and the optimal size of investment in domestic seaport. The policy implication to the Korean seaports and planner is that Korean seaports should introduce the new methods like Super-SBM method with Wilcoxon signed rank test for predicting the efficiency of port performance and the optimal size of investment as indicated by Panayides et al.(2009, pp.203-204).

  • The purpose of this study was to develop slacks patterns for middle-aged abdomen-obese adult males by using the 3D virtual-twin and virtual-garment simulation system. The criteria for subjects in this study were males who had over $25kg/m^2$ of BMI, over 90cm of waist, and over 0.90 of WHR. A total of 211 adult males who met these criteria were enrolled. The results were as follows: first, a new slacks pattern considerate of abdomen-obese men was development. The basic numerical formula were as follows: front and back hip girth H/4+3.5, front waist girth W/4+1+0.5, back waist girth W/4+1-0.5, front crotch extension H/16, back crotch extension H/8-0.5, front pleats amount 2.7, and back dart amount 1.5. Second, according to the results of the new slacks patterns appearance evaluation, the new slacks pattern scored more highly than the existing pattern in silhouette and ease amount, confirming that the new slacks pattern is appropriate for the abdomen-obese men. Also, the new slacks pattern was evaluated allowing proper space length of waist, abdomen and hip.
