A Study on Changes in Future Sports According to the Introduction of Baseball Robot Umpire (야구 로봇 심판 도입에 따른 미래 스포츠 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore changes in future sports by introducing baseball robot umpire. The study was conducted using qualitative research methods, and participants selected five baseball fans who were interested in baseball. The results of the study are as follows. First, baseball fans expressed displeasure with the frequent misjudgment in Korean Professional Baseball game, and doubted the fairness of the umpire's judgment. And repeated misjudgment of professional baseball has contributed to the decline in viewing and viewing of baseball. Second, baseball fans were positive about the introduction of robot umpire as a way to reduce bad calls in baseball games, and considered the accuracy, consistency, and recordability of robot umpire to complement their limitations. Third, the application of baseball robot umpire will serve as a basis for strengthening the fairness and efficiency of baseball games, which will positively change the image of sports. As a result, the introduction of robot umpire in baseball games could exert desirable influence on people and contribute to restoring the ethics of sports and strengthening fairness.

  • 축구경기는 세계적으로 널리 알려진 스포츠이다. 특히, 한국과 일본은 2002년 월드컵을 개최하는 나라이다. 이와 같은 배경에서, 우리는 퍼지 논리를 이용하여 축구 선수들의 기본적인 동작(Motion)을 인식하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 여기서 기본 동작이란, 걷기, 뛰기, 드리블하기, 서있기 등으로 정의한다. 만약 우리가 축구경기 장면 비디오를 통해 동작 인식을 필요로 한다면, 특징 패턴은 축구선수들의 양다리 각과 한 축구선수와 공과의 거리가 중요 요소가 될 것이다. 이 논문은 축구 선수 및 공의 추적(Tracking)을 통해 전처리된 데이터를 얻을 수 있다고 가정한다. 실험결과를 통해 축구선수 뿐만 아니라 스포츠 경기에서 선수들의 기본 동작 인식에 퍼지 논리를 적용할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 스포츠 조명의 목적은 스포츠 종목의 특성에 맞는 조명방법과 조절을 통해 경기력을 발휘 할 수 있게 조명환경을 조성하는 것이다. 또한 조명 설계를 통해 경기자는 물론, 관중 그리고 T.V. 시청자들에게도 경기 내용의 정확한 시각정보를 전달 할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 골프코스의 KS조도기준을 바탕으로 하여 티잉그라운드, 페어웨이, 그린으로 나누어서 골프코스 조명 모델 설계를 위하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 실시하였으며, 적절한 광원의 선정, 조명 pole의 위치 및 크기 등을 고려하여 조명등의 에이밍 조정으로 양질의 조도분포를 구하였다. 이러한 모델 설계를 토대로 골프장 현장적용 설계안을 제시코자한다.

  • In recent years, women's monetary rewards in golf increased and their performances have improved significantly compared to other sports. Sports marketing has become more active in Asia and the number of Korean players in LPGA with good scores are increasing. For these reasons, golf is becoming increasingly popular. The prize money is higher than in other sports and the economic benefits are increasing due to the financial incentives such as sponsorships. Many of these prospects actively affect women's golf. Certain rookies continue to increase and their performances improve day by day. In this study, I analyze the changes in performance over time of last 5 years from 2009 using growth curve analysis. According to the results of analysis, driving distance and average putting skills developed but green in regulation decreased.

  • This paper introduces the ball tracking system using image processing. The recent growth of the amateur futsal market has also raised requests for an analysis of amateur players' performance. Sports game analysis services for feedback and growth to athletes or teams are provided in various ways in various sports fields. However, the cost and spatial constraints of sports analysis services make it difficult for providing analysis services to amateur athletes. In this paper, we study and develop a ball tracking algorithm for analyzing futsal game based on the match filming service previously provided in the amateur futsal field. This allows the analysis of the match based on existing services.

  • As the nature of triathlons is competition in three successive sports, triathletes experience elevated levels of stress on the body that are absent in single-sport athletic events, and consequently there are more potential medical problems to prepare for. Triathletes can also experience problems such as hypothermia, heat illness, excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation, musculoskeletal injuries and trauma, immunosuppression, and haemolysis. Depending on the potentiality of such above-listed problems occurring in any given race, race organizers will prepare preventative measures and treatments accordingly. Olympic distance is not the only triathlon racing distance. Sprints, which are normally around half the Olympic distance, are common distances, as well as Long (2 km swim, 80 km bike, 20 km run), Ironman (3.8 km swim, 180 km bike, 42 km run), and ultra-distance events varying in length. Races of longer duration normally result in a higher percentage of athletes experiencing the above-mentioned medical problems, as well as inducing additional health risks such as hyponatraemia. Minimizing the occurrences of serious health issues is possible through the following means: carefully preparing for the probable race-day weather conditions; proper management and organization of the race; preparing an extensive water-safety and ground-course safety plan; distributing necessary nutrition along the course; and stressing the importance for athletes to have proper knowledge concerning race nutrition, biomechanical technique, physical preparation, and utilization of safe equipment. While risks of competing in triathlon are many, the instances of such medical problems are not excessive, and the triathlon has a reputation of being a reasonably safe sport as long as athletes with high risk take added precautions.

Comparison of Handball Result Predictions Using Bagging and Boosting Algorithms (배깅과 부스팅 알고리즘을 이용한 핸드볼 결과 예측 비교)

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the predictive power of the Bagging and Boosting algorithm of ensemble method based on the motion information that occurs in woman handball matches and to analyze the availability of motion information. To this end, this study analyzed the predictive power of the result of 15 practice matches based on inertial motion by analyzing the predictive power of Random Forest and Adaboost algorithms. The results of the study are as follows. First, the prediction rate of the Random Forest algorithm was 66.9 ± 0.1%, and the prediction rate of the Adaboost algorithm was 65.6 ± 1.6%. Second, Random Forest predicted all of the winning results, but none of the losing results. On the other hand, the Adaboost algorithm shows 91.4% prediction of winning and 10.4% prediction of losing. Third, in the verification of the suitability of the algorithm, the Random Forest had no overfitting error, but Adaboost showed an overfitting error. Based on the results of this study, the availability of motion information is high when predicting sports events, and it was confirmed that the Random Forest algorithm was superior to the Adaboost algorithm.

Analysis of Scoring Difficulty in Different Match Situations in Relation to First Athlete to Score in World Taekwondo Athletes (세계태권도 겨루기 선수들의 선제득점에 따른 경기 내용별 득점 난이도 분석)

  • This study analyzed the difficulty of scoring in different match situations in relation to which competitor scored first. The study analyzed the data from the 2022 Guadalajara World Taekwondo Championships. The analysis was performed for two separate weight classes: lightweight and heavyweight. Four game content variables were used: whether the athlete scored first, attack type, attack area, and game situation. Descriptive statistics, the Rasch model, and discrimination function questions were applied for data processing. SPSS and Winsteps were used for the statistical analysis, and the statistical significance level was set at 0.05. Consequently, in the lightweight class, the scoring frequency of the first scorer was high for all the game variables. In the heavyweight class, the scoring frequency for the first scorer was high for the attack type and attack area. By contrast, those who did not score first were more frequently found to be in a loss situation. By analyzing the scoring difficulties in different match situations based on whether the competitor scored first, the athletes who scored first in attack type most easily scored first. In losing situations, the athletes who scored first in attack area scored most easily, whereas those who did not score first scored most easily in body and match situations. For the heavyweight class, those who scored first in terms of attack type, counter-attack, and attack area scored the most easily while winning in body and match situations.

  • Recently, intensive research efforts are world-widely forced on the development of sport shoes improving both the injury protection and the playing performance by taking kinesiology and biomechanics into consideration. However, the success of this goal depends definitely on the reliable evaluation of the dynamic responses of sport shoes and human foot, particularly the landing impact characteristics. It is because the landing impact force is a main source of unexpected injuries and influences the playing performance in court sport activities. This paper addresses the application of finite element method to the evaluation of landing impact characteristics of barefoot and several representative court sport shoes in running. In order to accurately reflect the coupling effect between human foot and shoes accurately, we construct a fully coupled three-diemensional foot-shoe FEM model which does not rely on the independent experimental data any more. Through the numerical simulation, we assessed the reliability of the numerical FEM model by comparing with the experimental results and investigated the landing impact characteristics, such as GRF, MIF, acceleration and frequency responses, of representative court sport shoes.
