This study attempted to verify the structural model of the effects of stress, self-efficacy, and self-control on smartphone addiction in University students. The subjects of this study were 440 University students in G and P city. Results, First the most influential variables on smartphone addiction were self-control, followed by stress, and two variables explained explanation about smartphone addiction in 34%. Second, self-efficacy had a positive effect on self-control and stress had a negative effect. Both variables had an indirect effect on smartphone addiction through self-control. In groups less than 4 hours and above, there was a partial regulation effect because of differences between groups in the smartphone addiction pathway coefficients of stress and self-efficacy. Therefore, in order to reduce smartphone addiction, it is important to find ways to reduce stress and increase self-control and self-efficacy, and necessary to develop various programs and tailor educational interventions for each individual situation.
This study was conducted to identify the correlation between dental hygiene students' overdependence on smartphones, sleep deprivation, and self-control, and factors influencing self-control. 267 college students in the department of dental hygiene located in the Chungcheong area were surveyed and analyzed. Smartphone overdependence was positively correlated with sleep deprivation and smartphone overdependence was negative correlated with self-control. The sleep deprivation was negative correlated with self-control. Factors affected to self-control were problematic results and sleep deprivation. Therefore, it is necessary to develop education and programs that can increase the self-control of dental hygiene students and to prepare measures to prevent sleep problems and overdependence on smartphone.
This study was conducted to assess the needs of smartphone application development for self care performance of 374 patients with chronic hepatitis B. The mean age of the subjects was 46.2 years. The patients obtained information about chronic hepatitis B from the internet (41.3%), nurses or doctors (23.8%), television (15.6%), and smartphones (6.2%). The reason that the information about hepatitis B didn't come from a smartphone were 'Lack of useful applications' (75.9%), 'Could not believe the information' (15.0). If the application is developed, subjects replied 'Frequently use' (59.9%), 'When needed' (33.2%). The desired contents were 'Knowledge of disease' (27.1%), 'Drug calender' (16.8%), 'Reference of information' (15.5%), 'Record of lab data' (14.6%). Ability to use the smartphone, depended on age and level of education, however the needs for the development of the smartphone application, there were not differences. Also, there were different desired contents of application, depended on age and level of education. Therefore, when developing smartphone applications for self care performance of chronic hepatitis B patients considering educational level and age, it could be widely utilized as a tool which can help to the self care performance of chronic hepatitis B patients.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the longitudinal relations between creativity, academic achievements, and utilization of computer & smartphone of middle school students. For this purpose, multivariate latent growth model was verified, using three year longitudinal panel data of Seoul Educational Longitudinal Study(2013-2015). Results indicated that the more students in their first year used computer & smartphone, the better scores they obtained on the creativity and academic achievements. As their grade goes up, while the growth rates of using computer & smartphone and creativity were related positively, the growth rates of using computer & smartphone and academic achievements -even though it was not statistically significant- were related negatively. In addition, the first year students, who obtained high level of scores on the creativity, obtained high level of scores on academic achievements, but this tendency was not significant as their grade goes up.

With regard to recently emerged problems of smartphone addiction among adults and adolescents, this paper researched upper-grade elementary students depending on various demographic factors that have not been studied thoroughly so far. The survey was conducted on 1570 students in grades 4~6 of schools in Gyeonggi province. Results showed that, first, the average rate of smartphone ownership was about 66%. Second, about 1% of the students belonged to high-risk group, 5.7% to at-risk group, and normal user group was 93.3%. Third, based on the demographic factors, grade and academic achievements each was significantly correlated to the type of addiction group. For example, students with poor academic performance or in higher grade were more likely to be highly addictive. Fourth, both groups of at-risk and of normal-user pertaining to these factors - in urban areas, male students, sixth-grade, in dual income families - showed higher addictiveness score. But they were contrasted in the aspects of household economy and academic performance: at-risk group was more addictive in affluent families or excellent academic performance, whereas normal-user group had higher level of addictiveness in case of poor families or lower academic performance.
