  • There are lots of data-driven analytics approaches to realize smart city. In Korea, Smart City Integration Platform has been deployed in more than 108 cities so It is very important to utilize the platform for smart city. This paper introduces interworking PoC(Proof of Concept) case between Smart City Data Hub, one of the data platform technologies for smart city, and Smart City Integration Platform for enhancing interoperability of city platforms; Smart City Integration Platform sends various city events to Smart City Data Hub and receives predicted city events produced by data analytics in Smart City Data Hub.

  • Since World Health Organization (WHO) declared Pandemic about COVID-19 at 11 March, 2020, 214 countries now have more than 5.8 million confirmed cases and 360 thousand deaths (29 March 2020). The pandemic of COVID-19 caused lockdown in numerous countries and cities. Strict social distancing also affects most of fields such as health, education, politics, religion, and economy. South Korea actively uses various digital technologies to fight against COVID-19, which is introduced internationally as a successful example. This article introduces the development background and functionalities of COVID-19 Epidemic Investigation Support System (EISS) as well as Smart City Datahub, the core technology that enables the rapid development and application of EISS. Moreover, based on this example, the role and importance of horizontal common platform, such as Datahub, are discussed in the view of future city.

  • Purpose This study aims to introduce a Smart-Platform for solving numerous problems in urban cities and improving citizens' convenience. This Smart-Platform is achieved by studying the City Data Hub technology to build and spread a Smart City Data Hub . Design/methodology/approach In this study, we analyzed the functions in detail and interlocking flows specific to the published City Data Hub module and designed a Smart-Platform with additional UI-based functions to improve users' convenience based on our previous experience. Findings The City Data Hub will provide a modular data hub platform functionality for application by different stakeholders. However, further research on detailed functionality and experience in interworking legacy systems will be required to apply the platform realistically. Therefore, we judged that this Smart-Platform, which supplements the City Data Hub with additional functions, would be useful for utilizing the City Data Hub in the future. Through the demonstration of the platform designed, it is also necessary to explore the direction of continuous development for the future.

  • The World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic on March 11. South Korea recorded 27,000 cases of the coronavirus illness, and more than 50 million coronavirus cases were confirmed all over the world. An epidemiological investigation becomes important once again due to the spread of COVID-19 infections. However, there were a number of confirmed coronavirus cases from Deagu and Gyeongbuk. Limitations of the epidemiological investigation methods were recognized. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency developed the Epidemiological Investigation Support System(EISS) to utilize the smart city data hub technology and utilized the system in the epidemiological investigation. As a part of EISS, The proposed system is big-data bsed epidemiological investigation support system processing mobile network data. The established system is the epidemiological investigation support system based on big data to process mobile carriers' big data. Processing abnormal values of mobile carriers' data which was impossible with existing staff or creating hotspot regions where more than two people were in contact with an infected person were realized. As a result, our system processes outlier of mobile network data in 30 seconds, while processes hotspot around in 10 minutes. as a first time to adapt and support bigdata system into epidemiological investigation, our system proposes the practical utilizability of big-data system into epidemiological investigation.
