쉴드터널의 계측시스템 구축

  • Shield 터널의 굴진에 따른 지반변위를 Real Time으로 측정하여 지반변위를 가장 작게 일으키는 굴진 Pattern을 결정하는 것이 계측시스템구축의 목적이다. 대상지반은 부산시 구포전력구 현장의 대표적인 지반이라 생각되는 Silt 층인 #11 작업구 인근과 모래층인 #7 작업구 인근에서 각각 실시하였다. 계기매설에서 계측결과분석은 1994년 6.22-11.5에 수행하였다. 계측결과로부터 얻어지는 효과는 Shield 터널굴진에 따른 지반변위의 형태와 크기를 파악할 수 있고 가장 적절한 굴진 Pattern 제시로 인근 매설물에 영향을 미치지 않는 시공을 가능케 하며 자동계측의 계기매설 및 계측기술을 습득할 수 있다. 본 전력구 공사에서는 자동계측용 Computer Software 및 관련장비를 확보하고 국내 최초의 Shield 터널 자동계측을 수행하였다.

Influence of the joint stiffness on the segment design (이음부 강성계수가 세그먼트 설계에 미치는 영향)

  • The lining of shield TBM tunnel is composed of segments, therefore segment joints are induced by connecting each segment. Segment joint is considered as joint stiffness in the design of TBM tunnel. Depending on the choice among the different stiffness equations, the joint stiffness values determined can be varied largely. Therefore, the influence of joint stiffness value on the design of segment lining should be verified. In this study, the joint stiffness values were determined firstly by using various equations and total change boundary was justified. Within the change boundary determined, the member forces were calculated by changing the joint stiffness through the numerical analysis and consequently the stability of segment lining was investigated by applying nominal strength. The results showed that the segment joint stiffness did not affect the design of segment lining largely.

  • In this study, a comparison model considering the stochastic characteristics of the load and member resistance of the shield tunnel segment lining as well as the variability of the boundary condition was selected and reliability analysis was performed, and the adequacy of the limit state design was analyzed by calculating the probability of failure and reviewing the structural safety. For the analysis considering the probability characteristics of these ground constants, the ground spring coefficient was considered as the mean value by calculating the quantitative value by applying the Muirwood formula, and the coefficient of variation was selected based on the existing research data to review the models according to the change of ground boundary conditions. Through the structural analysis of these models and the reliability analysis using MCS technique, the failure probability and reliability index were calculated to examine the changes in the failure probability due to changes in ground boundary conditions.

Analysis on dynamic numerical model of subsea railway tunnel considering various ground and seismic conditions (다양한 지반 및 지진하중 조건을 고려한 해저철도 터널의 동적 수치모델 분석)

  • Recently, the advancement of mechanical tunnel boring machine (TBM) technology and the characteristics of subsea railway tunnels subjected to hydrostatic pressure have led to the widespread application of shield TBM methods in the design and construction of subsea railway tunnels. Subsea railway tunnels are exposed in a constant pore water pressure and are influenced by the amplification of seismic waves during earthquake. In particular, seismic loads acting on subsea railway tunnels under various ground conditions such as soft ground, soft soil-rock composite ground, and fractured zones can cause significant changes in tunnel displacement and stress, thereby affecting tunnel safety. Additionally, the dynamic response of the ground and tunnel varies based on seismic load parameters such as frequency characteristics, seismic waveform, and peak acceleration, adding complexity to the behavior of the ground-tunnel structure system. In this study, a finite difference method is employed to model the entire ground-tunnel structure system, considering hydrostatic pressure, for the investigation of dynamic behavior of subsea railway tunnel during earthquake. Since the key factors influencing the dynamic behavior during seismic events are ground conditions and seismic waves, six analysis cases are established based on virtual ground conditions: Case-1 with weathered soil, Case-2 with hard rock, Case-3 with a composite ground of soil and hard rock in the tunnel longitudinal direction, Case-4 with the tunnel passing through a narrow fault zone, Case-5 with a composite ground of soft soil and hard rock in the tunnel longitudinal direction, and Case-6 with the tunnel passing through a wide fractured zone. As a result, horizontal displacements due to earthquakes tend to increase with an increase in ground stiffness, however, the displacements tend to be restrained due to the confining effects of the ground and the rigid shield segments. On the contrary, peak compressive stress of segment significantly increases with weaker ground stiffness and the effects of displacement restrain contribute the increase of peak compressive stress of segment.

Relationship Between Net Penetration Rate and Thrust of Shielded TBM in Hard Rock (암반층에서 Shield TBM의 굴착속도와 추력과의 관계)

  • Four tunnels have been planned to operate a large diameter shielded TBM in Gwangju urban subway construction site. No.1 tunnel has completely been excavated for 13 months operating. Net penetration rate and its relations with thrust farce of the shielded TBM are analysis in this report. This shallow depth tunnel of 536m length is located in soil layers at launching and in hard rocks at ending with 84 m length. The weekly net penetration rates haute dropped down as low as 20∼110 mm/hr in rock while 400∼800 mm/hr in soil. The actual penetration rates we proved to be high as the theoretical penetration rate which is analysis in consideration of conditions of machine and rock. And net penetration rate is investigated to increase linearly thrust force.

  • Estimation of shield TBM tunnelling-induced volume loss is of great importance for ground settlement control. This study proposed a simple method for evaluation of volume loss during TBM tunnlling, which is able to take into account of shield machine configurations and main driving data in calculation. The method was applied to analyze the tunnelling cases with earth pressure balanced and slurry pressure balanced shiled TBM, and mostly, reasonable agreements with monitoring results were found. Additional discussions were made for some disagreements.

  • This paper presents the fundamental study on drag force of shield TBM cutter bit by scaled model test. Several theoretical analyses of the drag force of cutter bit have been studied. However, there are still some difference between the theoretical approaches and actual drag bit capacity. In order to study the drag forces of shield TBM cutter bit, the scaled model tests are carried out and analyzed. The results obtained from scaled model tests are compared with the existing theoretical equations. It is highly expected that the results of this study will be very essentially useful to design and develope the TBM cutterhead.
